  1. I am leaving April 7 and did last June. both YC cabins (15039) on Miraviglia were booked via the MSC site. There is only 1 YC room as such and maybe your cruises were taken. Please note door is not motor driven like NCL and none of OUR pools had a chairlift. Otherwise we had a great cruise.
  2. Do any of the pools have a lift that a person in a wheelchair can transfer to, to get in the pool/lazy river? Any other wheelchair access tips at the port? I assume we cannot use the cruise card to charge things in this area, right? Thank you
  3. No our room was quiet. 2 factors might be connecting door on opposite side from bed and when at sea we sleep with sliding door open a crack allowing white noise of water yet no bird entry
  4. Room-NCL rooms are larger but all are very functional. NCL has larger self opening front door in Accessible rooms as well as at public restrooms. NCL has eating table and a little larger balcony Sundeck/pool-NCL Haven pool has retractable roof with lounging chairs both inside and out. MSC has outside pool and sundeck. This gives NCL a hostile weather advantage. NCL also has chair lift at Haven (if you ask). MSC has no pool chair lifts. All MSC pools are salt water. Eating-MSC YC has a different menu each night. Haven stays the same making use of specialty restaurants more enticing. Food is great in both lines. MSC has a grill/buffet area on sundeck for breakfast and lunch making food VERY accessible while enjoying outside. NCL has outside dining in Haven restaurant but food on sun deck is limited to 2 or 3 sandwich types. Drinking/Lounge-MSC includes mini bar in their pkg as well as a bottle of liquor. NCL does not. NCL has 1 bar in mid lounge. Joy has additional front observation lounge as does MSC. MSC has bar at pool deck and front lounge making service better. MSC has light entertainment at night in lounge. MSC package includes water (Italian bottled water in room and at dinners) and specialty coffees. NCL does not. Crew/Service- Both have wonderful service but MSC seems to go out of their way to be friendly and are always there when you need them. Spa- the MSC YC has daily access to the Thermal room. The NCL Joy does not have one and the Escape has a significant daily charge Cost- MSC has far better value as their cost is about 2/3 that of Haven. Also MSC allows you to apply your OBC to the service charges implemented (crew tips) Summation Haven vs Yacht Club- 1)NCL Haven is a little more wheelchair friendly due to pool chair lift and power doors. 2)Out of NY MSC goes to both Bahamas/private island (dock) and Bermuda where NCL only goes south to Bermuda. Their private island is only tender accessible making weather more of an issue. 3)NCL might be better option in hostile weather conditions. BUT the cost factor along with what they give, gives MSC a HUGE advantage and NCL better look at their pricing if they want to maintain NYC market share out of NY.
  5. As a Haven customer we checked into the station as we boarded then saw video later in room. It keeps playing over and over. Never got an email with the video
  6. Was on the Nov 10 Cruise to Bermuda in the Haven. Some had noted the degradation of NCL Haven service but I did not see such. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I did feel a little food degradation but experience only reinforced what I said previously. 1) haven has advantage in bad weather with indoor lounging/pool and that applied this cruise with only 1 sunny day. 2) I paid for 5 days what i would get in 7 days at YC. 3) MSC has slight food advantage 4) Missed the Italian water and mini bar in MSC YC rooms but NCL room is bigger. 5) NCL more wheelchair friendly with powered room door and chairlift for pool 6) missed the private MSC Island available out of NY
  7. Also on that cruise in Haven. Hoping Patrick is concierge and maybe get some sun time on sundeck. Enjoy!
  8. You can take a 5 minute walk to the buffet and get it there
  9. Only 1 Haven bar- Deck 17 inside by lounge/concierge area. They will bring you drinks to the sundeck
  10. I issued a similar review of Haven vs Yacht Club. Haven had some advantages BUT agree with all of your statements.
  11. In YC they have bottles of Still and Sparkling and restock as you drink it. Same at YC restaurant.
  12. we are suppose to be there April 10 or 11 but have received nothing to indicate an itinerary change (coming from NY)
  13. was the person on the island. Everyone pointed me there and she supposedly made a number of calls but at some point she should have seeked help. When after 45 she went to look she found the culprit.

  15. Only to be persistent if nothing happens after 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately did not work for me 🙂
  16. Did not go to Broadway but Carousel was easily accessible (tables in rear)

  19. Today we just got back from an awesome one week cruise on the MSC Meriviglia. We stayed in the Yacht Club (accessible room 15039) and one of us is in a wheelchair. Some have asked about accessibility so will focus this note on such. 1) Room- 15039 is only accessible room in the Yacht club. I have included pictures of the room. Wish they had more than 1 such room in YC but it fully met our needs. To make things much better MSC should add a swing down grab bar between toilet and shower for use on toilet and make door swing open with button. 2) Crew was awesome and always ready to help where they could. Cannot overemphasize this point. Friendly, efficient (except for tram issue) and hard working 3) Pools were not accessible for one in chair as it had no chair lifts as other lines do. 4) On Ocean Cay we waited 45 minutes for a special tram car. This was a faulty communication issue as we finally had to go get it. First off ship and one of last to get to YC beach area. Crew at beach area nicely setup a shady area for us. Water is not accessible as it was rocky (smooth rocks though) 5) Embarkation and disembarkation went well with chair/YC getting priority. 6) Ship was fully nicely accessible by elevators. Saw a few in scooters. Hope this helps
  20. Thank you matchgame and sbcs for taking the time to supply good info
  21. just curious if any recent cruisers have noted any chair lifts at the pools. I have looked at all the pictures and have not seen one although Morgsmom noted one in the main pool, I cannot confirm it with MSC.
  22. We have been on 2 November cruises to Bermuda and are probably on yours (Escape). We have been lucky as it is warm enough to eat outside on ship on 1st day. Nice weather, not sure if it will be beach weather.
  23. Thank you Homosassa-interesting notes. NCL did indeed have chairlifts for pools so I just wanted to see what is available. I had emailed and mailed MSC with 2 very specific questions and provided my email and number. 6 days later they called and a lady said to call her back (rather than answer the questions) at the general number. Impossible to get anyone specific so talked to someone else and really got no where. So yes I enjoy banging my head on the wall but assuming the worst I did make reservations (June 11 out of NY) and filled out special needs form (by the way JAGR they no longer accept your form emailed to them, you must use the online version-just for info). Thank you all again!
