  1. As far as I know: Stavanger substituted for fjord cruise just to the north due to delay leaving Southampton. Hellesylt substituted for Flåm (most comments I saw said this was an improvement rather that a problem) due to high winds.
  2. Agreed, maybe I should have said alternative to MDR...
  3. I'm hearing some noise that some of the speciality dining options (Epicurean / Sindu / The Quays) mat be closed on coming sailings, including ours. Can anyone confirm? Maybe report from the last week? Concerning, the change of itinerary aside, this is becoming a touch disappointing if true...
  4. Thanks Trev, totally missing the point, a bit rude, quite snobby and presumptuous, but thanks 👍
  5. This is not the case, at least, not what I've been hearing from people's experience. And from @grapau27 above who says this was also an issue on their credit card.
  6. In order to avoid having a period of time after the cruise, when the total bill has been paid, and the same amount is unavailable due to the pending restrictions.
  7. Thanks. The concern is that the pre authorised amounts don't always drop off on the same day the full amount is taken, thus tying up funds that should be available, and indeed become available once the pre authorisations go. In some cases this can take a week or 2, depending on the bank / card issuer.
  8. Great responses so far, thank you. Is it possible to make a deposit into the onboard account by card, or only by cash?
  9. Interesting that cruises are now the outlier in testing. Little or no testing required mostly everywhere now. Our daughter is off to the US next week, they've just removed all pre flight testing requirements.
  10. I'm happy to go to reception and deposit say £400 in cash up front, I just could do with avoiding pending transactions hanging around on my bank card tying up what should be available funds once we are home.
  11. Hello, have been reading some posts elsewhere about P&O sending pending transactions each night to passengers bank accounts for the prior days on board spending. They then take the full payment at the end of the cruise, effective tying up double what you've spent until the bank removes the pending amounts (I know this is a banking issue NOT a P&O one) If I were to bring cash (yes, cash, in actual notes!!) on board and deposit that at the same time as giving a swipe of a card at embarkation , would they still send pending transactions to the card, or just deduct from the pre paid cash balance and on board credit? Also, could I make a debit card payment up front, or would it need to be actual cash in used £20's?!
  12. But they do have a "valid vaccination certificate issued by a local health authority" don't they.
  13. Seems a fair decision to me based on the forecast winds at 0700 Weds.
  14. Think I read 4200 on board somewhere
  15. News coming in from a local source that as well as having missed Stavanger today due to late departure, Iona will not be calling into Hellesylt either 🙁
  16. The P&O site says "up to date NHS COVID-19 pass, or valid vaccination certificate issued by a local health authority". Would think that would cover it? You have a certificate from your local health authority. Link https://www.pocruises.com/cruise-with-confidence/booking-with-confidence#vaccination-policy
  17. Comments from customers on board, not calling at Stavanger.
  18. Comments from onboard in the last half hour, not calling at Stavanger.
  19. There have been a lot of flights cancelled recently, as all will be aware. Most airlines I've seen comment have blamed "operational reasons".
  20. Its £90pp, including transfer cruise. Incidentally, when they cancelled Geiranger from our cruise earlier this week, there were 2 P&O trips on the personaliser from Hellesylt, today there are 10, so being updated gradually.
  21. This was only sent out in the last couple of days. While unfortunate, it may take a few days to process what's likely to be several thousand refunds.
  22. I read elsewhere that it's simply a cheap berth.
  23. The flood risk is from a Tsunami, not global warming. A large chunk of mountain is slowly detaching from the side of the Fjord, and when it does, that's it for Hellesylt and Geiranger 😕
