It has been a long time since our last Carnival cruise.

Is $59 per day the best price we will see for Cheers? Just wondering if there is ever a sale or a promo code in past experiences.

    Thanks!.

You can buy discounted gift cards on AARP and use the gift cards to purchase Cheers online, $450 for a $500 gift card.

  2. Never add a debit card to your sail account. Use a credit card, cash account, gift cards (discounted on AARP), or cruise cash. If you use a debit you will get holds and then get charged the full amount at the end of the cruise and will have to wait for the bank to release the holds..so essentially it will be double from your account until the holds lift.

Nose hair scissors?  Can't the guy just trim those before cruising?   Bogles my mind sometime the things people feel entitled to cart aboard cruise ships and airlines.  Ever see the amount of and nature of stuff TSA hauls in daily at small airports?

They have the best Instagram page detailing their finds.

hmmmm  Dont enter Canada with that as it would be considered a concealed prohibited weapon by customs if they found it.  As to the 20 cruises i cant speak to that but i have gone through airports numerous times and then be stopped at one.  I guess it all depends on the person and the place.  There really is no standard of training to ensure that everyone is doing it the same.

Same with Mexico. I'm sure Brittney Griner passed through Russian security with weed numerous times until the one time she got caught.

They took my money clip in Port Canaveral. This thing has a one inch blade. I said, I thought very small blades were allowed. They said this counts as hidden so we have to take it. This same blade has also been on 20 cruises before this by the way.

I wouldn't let you on with that and it isn't smart to carry that in a foreign country.

My girlfriend's son-in-law can drink a 12 pack of beer and not even been fazed. But then he is 6 foot 6 and 300 pounds.

Legend has it that Andre the Giant drank 119 beers in six hours.

new to Carnival My husband usually goes to the bar to get our drinks can he get two if he has my card or do I need to start getting my own drinks?

Technically you both have to go but a few good tips can take care of that

And... 15 drinks for one person might be way different than for someone else. Not only with regard to that persons tolerance (or their size), but also based on what they drink/order:

I'll likely never hit the 15 drink limit, but I looked at the 19.2 oz. can of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing I was enjoying last week and saw it was 6.7% alcohol. That's about the same amount of alcohol as in 2 regular beers or 2 glasses of wine. I have no idea, but I'm guessing that they only counted that beer as one of my drinks... dunno.

A beer is a beer, the don't treat an IPA any different than a bud light. You can order a Long Island and it will be treated as 1 drink.

I've seen "Demographics" mentioned multiple times in this thread. Anyone care to elaborate? I've never cruised on Carnival and can only go by what I read on cruise junkie. However there is a extremely good deal on a school vacation week that is almost to good to pass up.

Perception only, not saying it's true

Royal  - passengers are old, stuffy, but have more money.

Carnival - younger, drink more/party, have less money. The shorter the cruise the bigger the party.

FTTF initially included cabin ready upon boarding...and every cruise prior to covid that we had, our cabin was always fully ready...and we are early boarders. Since covid, they apparently are operating with less staff, and are not guaranteeing your FTTF cabin will be ready. On our Dream cruise last month...with FTTF...we boarded at 10:45...went directly to our cabin to drop off our carry-ons and backpacks...and our cabin attendant was in the process of cleaning our cabin. I told him we would just drop our stuff off and be off for lunch...and he said our cabin would be fully ready for us in less than 15 minutes...which means if we wanted access to it at 11 am...it was available. He told me they always do up the platinum diamond and FTTF cabins first. Our friends who cruise with us also had FTTF...was on board at 12:15...went directly to their cabin ...and it was completely ready. So for those who say even with FTTF you can't have your cabin before 1:30....you are apparently not correct.

Less staff and a deeper cleaning process due to covid.

I have pre-payed for Cheers, tips and our specialty restaurants so I am not anticipating a tab over $500.00-ish so I didn't figure there would be too many holds etc....but now with all the opposition I'm reconsidering...

You should be good but just buy a $500 gift card for $450 or add $500 cash to your account. No holds that way.. which always come in at $200 at a time for longer cruises. I'm assuming they never let your account drop below that $200 hold.
