Amazed at rudeness”.  Yes X was full of of them on Dec 13.  Old crotch men and obese ladies seemed to be the rudest.  On several occaisions young men stepped aside held people back to allow me into the elevator.    The young ladies in in buffet were more than helpful with obtaining food for me even telling my (who is not handicapped) to go ahead and her food and they would care of me and even assist her if need be.  What a nice feeling.  Maybe that is why we sail X.   The rudest folks (in my opinion) are from two locales.

    in the US.

Yikes!  Is your experience typical of Celebrity cruises?

I’m new to cruising, and I am considering my first cruise this year.  Thankfully, I am not handicapped.   You mentioned “old crotch men and obese ladies seemed the rudest”.  What did they do to you that was their rude behavior on your cruise(s)?

And,  can you be more specific that “the rudest folks are from two locales”.  What locales might that be?   Do you mean passengers from a specific area of the US?    So I can know who to avoid!

And, may God continue to watch over you.

    Thank you.

I make that effort … I wear 'black' instead of khaki …  pants, long sleeve collared shirt , echo sandals, or new balance shoes

along with my black lettering visor,  of course ...🍷

I am new to cruising. Considering a first cruise this year and  relying on Cruise Critic vets for guidance.

So, you mentioned wearing echo sandals, or New Balance athletic (?) shoes on Formal Nights with your Formal Night dress. Would wearing Croc type shoes also be permissible?  Also, I thought I read on dress code policy,  hats or ball caps are not allowed in the dining room evenings?   But, that does not hold true for visors?

Very helpful advice.  Thank you for your guidance.

Doesn't matter if you have access to good Asian food, good tasting food is good tasting food.  My wife and I, her best friend and husband, plus her best friend's husband best friend and wife were on the Marina in 2017 and we all agreed that Red Ginger was everyone's favorite restaurant.  Now, I am Chinese-American who lives in San Francisco all my life while my wife and the other's were born in China and most of them are living in Hong Kong.  All of them are well-traveled and are familiar with various other Asian cuisines.   Red Ginger is really Asian Fusion rather than a collection of regional dishes.  Everyone's favorite was Miso-Glazed Chilean Seabass - never had this dish until I sailed with Oceania.

New to cruising.   Do they serve dim sum or char su ramen noodles?  Are they available daily at lunch or dinner?  Hong Kong fried noodles or Singapore style curry chow mai fun?

Like anything else most people are afraid to move anything from a chair for fear of being yelled at.

If the sign were there for a while I'd just remove it & sit down.

New to cruising.  And a solo traveler.   The tag is a good idea.

What is the rule about being away from your lounger?  Is there a maximum time allowed to be away?  Isn’t their a pool attendant  that keeps track of time?  And what to do, if upon  return from a swim,  a bathroom break, or getting  some food from the snack stand,  and there is someone who has removed your belongings and in now occupying your lounger?

    Thank you for guidance.

Obviously I wouldn't send anything super-delicate, but how have folks fared with laundry service in general? Usually not an issue but we're going to be on the road for an extended amount of time.

I am new to cruising.   Are you concerned about laundry service loosing or damage to your delicates?   Do they starch and press?  Press seersucker?

What is the typical turn around time?

LOL. Have you read the 150 posts before yours? With all due respect.

LOL.  No, I have not read all 150 posts before mine, thank you.  🙂.   But those that I have read seem to place high importance on following the dress policy for evening dress in the dining room.  Others not.

What I meant was, I have some dressy pants made of denim fabric but not “blue jeans” Levi’s, or Wranglers.  They are light weight colored mixed cotton- denim fabric,  in white, or oatmeal,  but are not Western cut style “jeans”.   They are straight leg or flared cut.  I think I would be OK wearing them with a nice top?

    Thanks again for you guidance.

  7. I have not taken a cruise yet, but considering Celebrity or Oceania.

I like Chardonnay with red meat.   Will the sommelier or wine steward look down at me ,  if I order white wine with a nice steak?

Are the prices for wine reasonable on Celebrity?  I usually cannot finish a full bottle at dinner.  Maybe only half.

Can I bring the rest of bottle back to my stateroom for later consumption?

    Thank you.

It’s not about how you look - it’s about how you behave and carry yourself.

I have not taken a cruise yet.   And I am trying to deecide between Oceania or Celebrity.

Are the comments on this thread representative of the kind of people that cruise on Oceania?  Issues around the dress code.  Specifically the wearing jeans at dinner in the Grand Dining Room?

    Thank you.
