  1. I just finished booking as well, for two in PH1, $7598, I feel like this is a really really good price. The itinerary is great and we will plan some added vaca time on both ends. Bon voyage!!
  2. Honestly at the cost of the PH (perhpas I don't know O but the price is FAR less than I anticipated) for this cost of two people, it sure gives breathing room on the cost of the flights.
  3. Good thing you are giving yourself "mull" time...I just went to book, well to make final call on either this Founder's Cruise or the Riviera in April, and looks like they are doing maintenance on the booking site, as "not able to retrieve" for either booking.
  4. I priced it out w/air as well, not because I'd do air thru O but just to see the cost to compare. If we do this cruise, or the other 7 day we are looking at on Riviera, we'd be going in 3-4 days early and staying after for another 3-4 days, so air on our own is not only much easier but also much more feasible. Good luck however you decide!
  5. It is a lovely itinerary, and w/o airfare, a PH is less than $10k.
  6. The prices are reasonable as well. Is a Founders Cruise a bit of bedlam?
  7. Agree Ravenna is very walkable, I'd def not do a tour there.
  8. But when it comes to luxury v premium pricing, Celebrity seems to have missed the memo
  9. "it's a luxury cruise line". Perhpas compared to Carnival, but Silversea, Regent, Viking..hmmmm

  11. They have three levels, PH1, PH2 & PH3. All of them seem to offer the same amenities, though there isn't really all that much of a cost diff between the three levels. I ask because we want to book one of their 10 day Med cruises in April/May 2023 and wondering if anyone can suggest any reason for booking or not booking, one over the other. Frankly, the cost for a 10 day cruise with the intins we are looking at really looks fantastic, esp compared to the 14 day TA I recently did on Celebrity Edge. TYIA.
  12. I was very recently on the Edge, premium wifi was included in my fare. I'd NOT pay for it going forward if I were to cruise with Celebrity again. There was nothing premium about it, other passengers with basic, seemed to have just about seem level of speed as we did, which was spotty at best. Now I also have to say, I did not use internet often. Perhaps Starlink will be the game changer.
  13. Didn't first sailing on the refurbished ship just start on Dec 7? I haven't seen anything yet on YouTube or here, but I would think there will be soon. Very looking forward to see what it looks like compare to what O has published already. We just booked a 10 day Med cruise on her for May 2023. Will be first time on O after just getting off Celebrity Edge.
  14. Do it on day two once on-board. Just drink the well stuff the first day, go to a bar, purchase the upgrade, the bar tender gets a commision and he/she will be your new friend every time you go to that bar.
  15. IMO, Celebrity is VERY expensive for a premium line, there are some true luxury lines that pricing is comparable (better in some cases) than Celebrity offers. They seem to have applied the same level of pricing fom the new ships, Beyond, Apex, Edge, to all of the others. Just as an example. We just a few weeks ago did a 14 night TA, Rome to Miami, EV (which was fantastic) $14k. Now we are in the process of looking for a 10 day Med in May 2023. In an attempt to do an apples/apples comparison, we have narrowed it down to two with very similiar itineraries. Here is the cost for two of us; Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Suite, $24,335 (WTH)! Oceania, Riviera, PH1 suite, $11,998. I know Celebrity includes tips, drinks (we do not drink alcohol) and wifi, also $800 OBC. With Oceania we'd choose the 3 shore exs and pay for any add'l up-charges, though all of their specialty dining is included. But there is no way on earth we will spend an additional $12k for any additional on-boad spending w/Oceania. Have been contemplating Oceania for quite a while and Celebrity's pricing for a very similiar itin. w/same total nights, made the decision a no brainer.
  16. Hi all, primarily a Celebrity cruiser here, but their itineraries are getting boring. I do love their suites that have butler service. That said Holland America Pinnacle suites are looking very appealing to me right now. I’m looking at a fantastic itinerary for 14 days from Rome to Ft Lauderdale in a Pinnacle suite. I know no butler but anyone have experience to compare/share. Especially if you have done both. TIA!
  17. Doing a PC/S. Caribbean cruise in Nov 2022, first time. They have an excursion in the planner, Wonders of Engineering: PC Locks & Culebra Cut Cruise, which is 8 hours long. Wondering if anyone has done this tour or something similar, if so what were your impressions/thoughts, did you feel it worth it for the 8 hours? One of the notes in the description said be prepared for an extended wait for the PC ferry pilot to arrive and we apologize in advance for any extended wait time, hmmm. Part of me thinks well I just spent a day going thru the Canal so there is that, other part wonders if this type of tour/cruise is more up close and personal. TIA
