  1. Same- our problem is that we’re usually coming from or going to somewhere else, so we need to pack for multiple climates, then we just have a full suitcase of crap that we don’t even touch for the whole cruise! Looking forward to bringing like 3 suitcases on our pre-Christmas key west 4 night cruise that we won’t touch until we get up to the northeast for family time haha
  2. I’m guessing they meant the shorter voyages are basically the incubation period, so by the time you’d test positive, you’d be off the ship anyway.
  3. they have pretty reasonably priced laundry - $30 for a huge bag of wash & fold (or free for the rest of 2022 if you've gotten status with them). i realized that i'm now officially an adult because i get really excited about packing clean clothes and not having to do laundry when i get home hahaha
  4. Ship: Scarlet Cabin#: 12255A Deck #: 12 Cabin Category: Seriously Suite (Rockstar) Sleeps: 2 Cabin Location: Mid (between mid and forward) Terrace/Window/Obstruction: Terrace with no obstruction. Champagne table & chairs on terrace. Noise Issues?: A little pool DJ noise on sea days from terrace, but not really intrusive. Wind Issues?: Nope Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: Nope Hammock: Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: Glass Advantages/Problems: Room is a decent layout. AC is PHENOMENAL in this suite - the best we've had in 5 voyages! Lots of room in closet with hangers, drawers and baskets on shelves. 6 big dresser drawers + a makeup/vanity drawer in room. Bathroom is sufficient, with lots of counter space. Only complaint is that this suite shakes SO much. It feels like you're sitting on a washing machine in bed - not a ton of ship movement, but you can feel mechanical-like vibrations from somewhere. Right bed table (right side if you're in it) shakes like crazy. I couldn't keep my glasses on the table at night because they were rattling so much, and my sunglasses rattled off the table completely! Would You Book Again?: probably? i just upgraded our December 8 night to another Seriously. Comments: it's a little far from the mid ship elevators, but quickly accessible from the forward elevators.
  5. pool is mostly hip hop/edm/dj dance club type mixes, but they do sprinkle some classics in there - like we had dreams by fleetwood mac today. the nightclub has a 70s themed night, which is heavily 70s/disco themed music, but still mixed together. the live bands play lots of classic rock/pop. right now, there's a house band and a guest band that play in various venues a lot of the night. "the hostess" also does a cabaret style song show where she sings the classic american songbook songs.
  6. I think they’re $350 for the small and $500 for the big ones, with some drink credit, maybe $100? seems like a big fat waste of money, but there was a group that had a full bottle service setup in there on my current cruise.
  7. We had an issue at breakfast on scarlet today- the printer at one of the food stands was apparently down, so no orders were actually getting in! Not the end of the world because we already had grabbed a bunch of food from the bento box stand, but annoying nonetheless- you’d think someone would notice if they literally weren’t getting a single order during the breakfast rush!
  8. it seems like there have been a bunch of provisioning issues on valiant, which really isn't excusable at this point when they're operating half the year out of the med! re: crew, i think the OG scarlet crew bounced over to valiant to launch her, but their contracts have since been up. also not excusable given how long they've been up and running now, but it seems like training is more of an issue with the valiant crew. i've been on scarlet 4x and am going on a back to back starting this weekend - no major problems so far, and the crew has been awesome every time. i do have one trip on valiant booked in december, so it'll be interesting to see if they'll get more of the kinks worked out while they're in such proximity to HQ.
  9. from other's reports on FB and other threads here, it looks like some of these have gotten their hammocks installed now. someone said they got an "oops your room has no hammock, here's $50 OBC for your troubles" email shortly before embarkation, then got to their cabin and it did indeed have a hammock. still, this is a good place to start & to double check w/ VV if you are in one of these rooms!
  10. i was able to use wifi calling on VV too. i had the premium internet bc i needed to work a couple days fwiw
  11. One more for now, and I'll have two new cabins from my upcoming B2B in a couple weeks! Ship: Scarlet Cabin#: 14261Z Deck #: 14 Cabin Category: Brilliant Suite (Rockstar) Sleeps: 4 Cabin Location: Forward Terrace/Window/Obstruction: Terrace with no obstruction. Champagne table & chairs on terrace. Noise Issues?: None Wind Issues?: Nope Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: Nope Hammock: Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: Glass Advantages/Problems: Room inside is the exact same layout as the Gorgeous Mega Rockstar Suite. The terrace is smaller than the Gorgeous, so there are no loungers, which is kind of a bummer. No major problems, bed was comfy and couch and extra space are great. Would You Book Again?: probably not - if I'm going to spend as much as the Brilliants cost, i would just pony up the extra $$ to get the base mega room (Gorgeous) Comments: In July 2022, the terrace door had issues and apparently came fully off the track, which prevented the AC sensor from engaging, despite the fact that we "closed" the door. We spent the evening out and about and came back to a jungle-y room at like 2am. Maintenance came to fix it pretty quickly, but we had to wait a while for the room to get comfortable to sleep.
  12. the water onboard is reverse osmosis filtered, which is basically what you're drinking in bottled water anyway, just with less container waste.
  13. i would go literally monthly if they sailed out of LA.
  14. i was never able to get that to work. it seemed to have a few preselected locations, but they were either "not available" when i went to order or could only order alcohol. i ended up running to my room to get into its geofence, ordering, running back to wherever i was, tracking it on the app and running back to my room to grab it.
  15. Ship: Scarlet Cabin#: 15299A Deck #: 15 Cabin Category: Gorgeous Suite (Mega Rockstar) Sleeps: 4 Cabin Location: Forward Terrace/Window/Obstruction: Large terrace, no obstruction. Champagne table & chairs + 2 padded loungers on terrace. Noise Issues?: music on pool deck during Scarlet Night could be heard throughout hallways, but the noise didn't really affect us in the cabin. Wind Issues?: Nope Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: Nope Hammock: Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: Glass Advantages/Problems: room layout is great, especially with the couch/table setup in the corner. bathroom is very large for a cruise ship. plenty of room to sleep, get ready, eat, lounge, whatever Would You Book Again?: if the price were right, but it looks like the lower prices are gone for good 😞 Comments: whitney was our roadie, and she was great! we were able to swap out certain alcohol/mixers, get food delivered from some of the restaurants, and included laundry was a great perk!
  16. Ship: Scarlet Cabin#: 11011Z Deck #: 11 Cabin Category: Cheeky Corner Sleeps: 2 Cabin Location: Aft Terrace/Window/Obstruction: Wraparound terrace, no obstruction Noise Issues?: None Wind Issues?: The opposite - air was very stagnant even when underway in December 2021 Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: Yes, all (and only) Cheeky Corners connect to the nextdoor sea terrace (11014Z in this case) Hammock: Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: Glass Advantages/Problems: room layout is generally awkward - plenty of space, but the way furniture is arranged makes it feel smaller. Would You Book Again?: i'd only book this cabin if it were the last room available on the ship. Comments: rockstar perks are great, but not really necessary to enjoy your time.
  17. Yep that’s one of my very few complaints! Sometimes you just want a damn taco or salad at 3:30!!!
  18. I don’t have a screenshot, but it’ll all show up under your wallet in the “me” tab. It sometimes takes till the first morning to correctly reflect loot/bar tab, but it’ll all show there!
  19. same! you don't really run into the sloppy drunks en masse like you might on a line with beverage packages where everyone's trying to max out their package. i also like that tips are included, so you don't need to mentally add 20% to the prices you see (only taxes if you're in port). we did mega rockstar for a back to back, so we had all our drinks included... the hangover was real on day 2 and we slowed down a bit. Even by like night 6, we basically just wanted coffee but felt like we still had to drink to make it "worth it."
  20. two more: 8 night Eastern Caribbean Antilles December 3-11 Miami • St Croix • San Juan • Puerto Plata • Beach Club at Bimini https://virg.in/oy8R 4 night Fire & Sunset December 18-22 Miami • Key West • Beach Club at Bimini https://virg.in/oCKn
  21. i think they're starting to push pricing up back to pre-covid levels though. we had booked an XL sea terrace for the OG birthday bash in 2020, for the bargain price of $5k for the cabin!!! the prices obviously dipped to entice new folks to try VV out over the past year and change. it was definitely a nice teaser, but i'm anticipating the pricing to jump significantly as they get their holding in the market.
  22. nope, but there's a dodgeball/basketball court that you might be able to set up a net on
  23. on paper, yes, in practice it depends. we brought 4 bottles on last december and didn't get charged corkage anywhere (we also had pretty interesting bottles that we were talking to the somm about, so not sure if they just got distracted and forgot to charge us or what). this july, we brought one bottle to dinner and they hit us with the corkage basically as soon as they saw the bottle on the table. i think it was $20 or $25. we brought mostly whites & bubbles on that trip, so we drank those by the pool with no issue. you can ask for an ice bucket and that'll keep your wine somewhat cool. hint hint, they don't care if you roll up to dinner with a very large (ahem - half a bottle) glass of wine.
  24. when you check in, if you're nosy (me!), you can peep the number on the ipad as they're checking you in. it'll have XXX checked in/XXX total in big numbers. or you can just ask any of the pax-facing crew like bartenders/happenings cast members. i think the best approach to dinners is to make reservations for relatively the same time each night. that way you'll be able to catch either all early shows or all late shows and not have to worry about fitting every day around a different schedule. we've been onboard with as many as 1800 pax, and we've never had an issue moving reservations around if needed. prime dinner times like any of the slots between 7 & 8 may be full, but if you don't mind eating a little earlier or later, you probably won't have issues.
  25. YMMV on that - we've brought 2 bottles each and went through separate security lines with no issue, but i saw someone complaining on FB that a group pretended they weren't with each other (not sure if they actually went thru separate lines) and got all but the allotted 2 per cabin confiscated before boarding.
