  1. Last Sept while on a cruise we book a 10 day cruise this Dec, We book with early saver and got $150.00 on board credit. I had the understanding that the on board credit would say with your booking if there was a price drop. I am being told that if I take advantage of the new price drop I lose the $150.00. Did I miss understand or is my PVP wrong?

  2. I think you are speaking of the White Nights (White out?)............you wear white clothing, reduced drink price, glow sticks, music & dancing, fun............you get the idea. Depending on how many nights, will determine how many elegant nights. On our Vista Journey we had 12 nights and three elegant nights. We had educational programs....astronomy, history, art and special cooking presentations from local chefs at the ports we were stopping. Many more activities than non journey cruises. We had a throwback night where they did an old fashioned (80's) midnight buffet. Highly recommend.

Glow Sticks, good. We were suppose to have done a Journey Cruise last year but my DH had major back surgery and the doctor would not allow him to travel back then. The group we were in had talked about a Glow in The Dar Party and we bought glow sticks and other stuff for that. At least will get to use them now.!!!

  3. For those that have been on a Journey Cruise with Carnival I have a couple questions.

Are there special activities during the cruise? Have heard there is something like an 80's night. Is there anything special to know about this particular day/night?

Also, been hearing about something called White Out. Is this on a particular ship or is it part of the journey cruise?

Are there more than 2 elegant/formal nights? If so what days are they usually on?

Any other information that might be useful would be helpful.

    Thanks

    D

  4. That last statement really bothered me. Are you saying that because you are a paying customer, you deserve better treatment than a crew member? Was that crew member hurt seriously? Were they having a heart attack? Go in to any emergency room or doc in a box and they will take you in order of your severity. A bleeding patient will get priority over a sore back any day.

NO I not saying at all that because I am a paying customer deserve better treatment. I saying they should have time set aside for crew. There were 10 crew waiting to see the doctor. Any there were no crew hours listed. I ended up having to have spine surgery after I got back home.

  5. Ok I went and after standing for 1 1/2 I left. I was unable to sit because I was in so much pain from back. I had a bad back to start with but hurt it during the cruise. I ended up taking the pain pills I had till I got back home. The reason the wait was taking so long they were seeing crew. I think the crew should have a time set aside to be seen.

  6. I don't want to start another thread about non-handicapped folks requesting accessible cabins. But who decides if someone is handicapped or truly needs an accessible cabin?

I have mobility issues. Hip surgery twice, not too steady on my feet, can walk very short lengths but for everything else require either a cane or a walker. My walker that I'll be bringing is wider than a normal cabin door. It would be nice to have the handicap rails in the bathroom, and a little extra room around tight bed spacing, etc.

But when I inquired about booking an accessible cabin, I was asked if I am in a wheelchair. I am not. (Yet, at least.) But I do have genuine mobility issues. I was told ONLY wheelchair passengers are allowed to book accessible rooms. And I really don't have a problem with that, as long as that is who gets those rooms.

But if an accessible room goes unbooked, why shouldn't I be able to get it? It would sure help my disability! Should I have it noted on my booking that I have mobility issues, so that if an accessible room becomes available, perhaps they would offer it to me? As it is, I'm booked into a regular cabin just like anyone else.

Is there someone else I could speak to about it? Maybe there isn't... maybe I'll just have to make the best of it, and that's okay. But if there's a possibility of getting a little roomier cabin, I don't want to lose the chance just because I never asked! :)

I am same as you using a walker and a cane. I have had two spine surgery this year. I am unable to walk very far. I requested a handicap room for our cruise in 2 weeks and had no problem getting when we booked. They asked what the problem was and when I told them they said ok.

What date is your. Our is Sept 12 can't wait

  8. I'm showing gold-gold for both cruises. Day 75 is on Day 14 of the 15 day B2B. When it gets closer to sailing time I'll call and see what I can do. Starting the second cruise with a bunch of dirty laundry- I can always just do it in the machines during changeover day but it would be nice to have the laundry perk.

Be sure you are looking at the printed docs and not what you pull up on line. Mine showed Gold on line but when I pulled up the printed docs it showed me as Platinum and priority boarding.:D

  9. I'm new to cruising and have a couple of questions.

    1. Has anyone stayed in room 9282, can you give me any insight on this room. Is it noisy? This is a balcony room correct?

    2. I can only bring 1 bottle of wine or 12 cans of soda correct?

    3. What is the best thing to do in Cozumel and Progreso.

    4. On non formal Night a sundress with leggings or dress capri's can be wore in the MDR?

I'm sorry for all the questions just want to make sure i have things right. Thanks for any help

We stay in a room 6 doors down from yours and love it. We will be on the Triumph Sept 12 and stay in the say area. As said before each person can bring a bottle of wine and a 12 cans of soda. Use this board to look up Cozumel and Progreso and see what appeals to you.

  11. So, my DH and I have been to Cozumel several times and we have done several thing but not really been downtown. Will be on Carnival Triumph which normally docks at Punta Mayan Pier, (I Think), anyway, is it worth going downtown to do some shopping. Have already done the pier stores several times. How best to get downtown and do you know the cost?

    Thanks
