JiffyJeff does not service the Miami airport

I am also looking to go from MIA to a Lauderdale hotel. Anyone else flying in on Jan 17th? My flight lands at 4:30pm

I took video of our first 2 cruises only. Since then it has all been pictures. Having recently done a "spring cleaning" at home, I organized all of our pictures. It was a nice trip down memory lane, and I was quite surprised by how many prints I have from our cruises....although in this digital age, the more recent trips are all on the computer, and some printed albums.

Sailed last year with Chubby Checker and some other musicians from that era......I didn't know that I was booked on a "rock n roll" cruise.

I have been taking gravol ginger pills for the past few years. I'll swallow 2 pills 30 minutes before flying, getting on a tender or if the seas are rough. Have not been sick since I started doing this

you are not allowed to discuss travel agents on these forums....but yes, everyone is aware of VTG.

If it is an option, you should go for 7 nights with a balcony. A balcony on the Oasis is only a little bit more than on the Liberty. You'll get 2 extra nights, and everything that the Oasis has to offer.

I've been in all categories except for the high end suites. Like others have said, it comes down to the budget. I have gotten accustomed to mini suites on Princess. It usually is in the right price range for me, and it provides a good amount of space to go along with the balcony. That being said, my next cruise on the Crown (14 nights), I will have an inside cabin. I must admit that I am feeling a little apprehensive about it...although I will miss the balcony, it is the storage space that worries me the most. There were several reasons why I ended up making this choice, but the main 2 were that the price was ridiculous at $1000pp, and the other being that we spend very little time inside while in the Caribbean.
Had I been going to Alaska, Panama, NE, or any other itinerary which had “stuff” to see or was not a “sun” vacation, I would have a balcony or higher.
I upgraded to a full suite on my Alaska cruise…..it was a wonderful experience, and I would do it again without hesitation if the price was right or I was offered an upsell.

I am so happy to be on a cruise, and therefore much more sociable than normal. Also, being unplugged is a great stress relief for me....I am on the computer day n night at home.

On our 2nd cruise, we got to the airport and realized that we forgot the bag with all of our formal wear.....I drove home to get it...thankfully there was enough time.

Naughty: On my Carnival Pride cruise to Bermuda, there were a lot of rowdy teens/young adults. One day we exited our cabin to find a pile of human waste several feet away in the middle of the hallway! CLEANUP ON AISLE DOLPHIN DECK!

My Carnival cruise on the Freedom in 2012 was my "worst" ever....but it was still a great vacation! I find that many people cannot give a negative critique without actually being negative......the two do not need to go together.

sounds amazing....can't wait for the day when I can go on such a long cruise!!!

Thanks for all the info. What happens with the OBCs that we have? Do I need to spend or cash it all out before the first half, or will it carry over to a single folio at the end of the trip?
Can someone confirm how it works at the pier in Lauderdale....will we need to sit around for 1-2hrs waiting to re-board....will we be in a special room....any refreshments...will we be first to board?
I read in the past that we will not need to do the 2nd muster....is that still correct?
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info. I posted a similar thread for the Caribbean Princess:

It sounds crazy that breakfast can be one of the best perks, especially considering you can be served in the dinning room....but it truly is the best way to start the day!!!
On our last cruise, the people in the suite opposite our cabin had room service every morning.....they didn't know about Sabatinis, but even after I told the guy about the perk, they still never went.....this disturbed me very much! :)

sas no longer services MIA, and neither do most of the others....they can take you to Miami, but not the airport

it was ok for a few hrs because we had a late flight and literally needed a bed for a few hrs. I did not feel unsafe....like I said, the locks on the door worked. My point is that I would not book this place if I needed accommodations for a full day or more. And at $140 I would do my best to find something cheaper if needed for a few hrs again.

Thanks for posting! Can you keep us informed during the week if there are any issues with the a/c or toilets......which has been a topic of discussion on the Crown for the past month.
Have a great cruise
Thanks!

I stayed there a few yrs ago for a pre cruise night. I knew it was a dump going in, but it only cost us $50, and we only needed a bed for a few hrs sleep. We got what we paid for....the bathroom door could not be closed all the way because the toilet was too close! Thankfully the lock on the front door worked....there was a lot of activity going on outside and we were able to hear everything. The free shuttle to the pier worked out well. I would do it again for $50, but at $140....no way!!!!

I don't think you will find cheaper than Princess for a shuttle to MIA. It might be easy to find transport to somewhere in Miami, but not necessarily the airport, where it appears a lot of companies no longer go.
I am still researching for myself, as I am also flying through MIA

I believe it is $24pp each way between MIA and Port Everglades. If you booked through a TA, call them, or Princess if you booked directly with them.
I think your flight will need to be at 1pm or later to do it.

Kingston has been a no-no for a very long time, and cruises do not go there. The tourist part of Jamaica is just as safe & unsafe as any other place in the world....common sense is your best friend! Be aware of your surroundings. If you stay in the tourist areas and don't wonder off on your own, you will be fine. If you get offered drugs....no thanks. If you just bought a diamond ring, take a cab back to the ship, don't walk back with your big "I just spent thousands on jewels" bags!
