  1. This is going to be our first Royal cruise and I have a question. What happens to the cheaters? Are they charged for the "other" drinks? Are they put off the boat? Just curious. BTW - I will be buying one drink package as soon as I see them on sale again.

Usually the drink packages are cancelled without refund and you'll have to pay for drinks a la carte.

  2. There was certainly nothing that required me to purchase 2 drink packages instead of 1 for our upcoming Harmony cruise on Oct 7th. I was going to check out with 1 and then my wife decided she wanted it, so I went back and added a 2nd. I got both, but I'm almost certain it would have let me check out with 1.

This is clearly trolling. Could you imagine them screwing just a few passengers on Harmony alone?

Why would you think this is trolling? It has been confirmed by Royal Caribbean and its on the website.

You said that you're "almost certain" that it would have let you check out with one package, but you didn't check out with one package, you said you actually bought two. So how certain are you really?

  3. You know what they say about a woman scorned....:*

Hubby says just pay for the tetotaller friend's package and be done with it. Okay. But if it's going to cost ME more I can, at the very least, ensure it costs Royal more, too. Fair is fair. Right?

So for every cocktail I order to drink I can be sure to order a second to leave behind/dump. And if I stop at a bar for a bottle of water I can be sure to obtain a 2nd bottle to throw away. Specialty coffee? Juice? Oh yes. The drains & garbage cans are getting mighty thirsty. This could be an entertaining game for me!

Royal won't have a successful test by me, I promise. You're all welcome for my efforts to bring a test failure. Teamwork. I got you! ;p

How is that going to cost Royal more? They've got their money whether you're draining your drinks or not. You've already paid for it. You're just costing yourself more money. Seriously?

  4. I am not going to touch someone else's belongings. That is asking for a fight. We must all work together to fight this terrible attitude of entitlement and selfishness! That is really what this is about. Not just chairs! We all pay to enjoy our vacations. Why make excuses for those that try to ruin it for others with their selfishness??

You are not going to combat the worldwide issue of selfishness and entitlement by starting with this pool lounger issue.

The previous commenter was right, if you've noticed they've been gone a while, just put their stuff aside and enjoy the lounger.

  5. Never have seen these. You must have been on a TA were very few people play seriously. Lol

The casino host has a whole desk full of these and they give them out pretty frequently. I know I did a slot pull last year where the host was very generous and gave us about 10 tickets for our participants.

  6. I love love love Allure! You're going to have a great time. I'll be following along. :)

@sushigirl53 - with the Voom internet package, you can use the ship's wifi for iMessage and other things without connecting to the cell tower. Just keep your phone in airplane mode, but keep your wifi turned on, and you'll be safe from those roaming charges. [emoji4]

  7. I was searching EVERYWHERE for one on my last couple of cruises. Allure November 2015 it was nowhere to be found and I was bummed.

Allure May 2016, I saw a few people walking around the pool deck with them but I never found the stand where they were sold. Finally I got my hands on one at the 70s party in the promenade. When you see 'em, you have to run and grab it! Ahahaha. It was delicious and so fun.

  8. I usually am early back to the ship, but once on Labadee several years ago, we took the afternoon adult sandbar excursion, and it arrived back late. [emoji24]

That would have been fine since obviously the whole group was late, but as soon as we arrived I had to run to the bathroom -- thank you, rum punch!

As if that wasn't bad enough, we made friends with a mom and daughter duo on the excursion, and mom enjoyed a little too much of the rum punch.... she was falling over, dropping her bags and belongings all over the pier. I was helping her walk up, and my friend was helping to grab her stuff.... we all were literally the last four people on the ship! It was very embarrassing [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] but made for a funny experience haha.

  9. OP makes a point; sooner or later this will impact all of us. Why so many people make conscious decisions as adults to act like school aged bullies is beyond me. This thread really brought out the most obnoxious, shameful behavior in so many. And for no good reason. I guess the entitled generation have not been taught empathy.

I don't know to what generation you're referring, but I've seen people on CC from all generations be bullies, so rude behavior is not limited to one sub-set of people. :)

  10. I have been thinking about doing the jet ski tour for MONTHS but I am a huge chicken so I don't know if I would actually do it. :( :( :(

Kevin, do you happen to remember if they sell the tickets for the jet ski excursion on Labadee (meaning, can you purchase them on the island instead of having to purchase them in advance)? I probably wouldn't buy the tickets in advance but I think I might want to take a look at the excursion from the dock and then maybe I would buy the excursion after that.

Great photos! Labadee sure is beautiful. :)

  11. I downloaded Tapatalk and have it figured out for the most part. One question- how do I bold text on Tapatalk? Thank you SO much for the suggestion, I think it will really help!

You know... I'm not sure! It looks like you figured it out though. :) I don't think there's a shortcut for it, but you can always use the code [ b ] bold text here [ /b ] and that will work just the same, just remove the spaces.

    Your photos look great!

  12. Hi Kevin, you're doing a great job with your review. I'll be following along for more. :)

One tip about your photos. If you are posting from your phone or tablet, you can use the Tapatalk app or the Forums app, and they both will let you upload photos straight from your camera roll, without having to edit. It makes it easier for people to see the photos (don't have to click into a separate window), and it lets you post full size so the photos aren't so small. Makes posting a LOT easier. :)

I'll be on Harmony later this year and I'm very excited. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

  13. I've done an OV balcony twice on Allure and loved it both times.

On my upcoming Harmony cruise, we wanted to save a few bucks and also try something new, so we are doing a boardwalk balcony. I wonder if those cabins get any breeze? We will not be very aft (accessible cabin) but am hoping to see a sliver of ocean and get some breeze. :)

  14. I took this tour last May since it was an accessible excursion and I was traveling with my mom who uses a scooter. She ended up not feeling up to going on the trip, so I took the excursion by myself.

The tour was fine. It was not very exciting but it was a nice way to kill time in the morning. We went out towards Amiga Island and Paradise Cove which is nice if you're interested in those excursions for the future since you get to see what they're like. I was interested in the Paradise Cove area because it looked like there were not very many people there and it was very beautiful. We did not see Tortuga.

Around the middle of the boat ride, some fishermen approached us and we stopped to look at their catch. They had some HUGE lobsters so that was pretty cool to see.

The guide was friendly and informative and told us a lot about the village near labadee where most of the workers there live and what their living conditions are like, but we didn't see very much.

I liked that it was early in the day and it wasn't too long, so I had plenty of time to do other things after the tour. :)

    Ps here's the giant lobster:
