Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. AMA just notified us that booking for 2025 is now open. We are trying to decide between these two; pricing is very similar. AMA has new ship Lilia and is showing Jordan extension. I read several poor reviews of Dahlia regarding food and ship. It was noted the cruise is run by third party Wings. Uniworld has many favorable reviews but also some negative regarding third party operator Springs. We are considering SS Sphinx, a newer ship. Uniworld does not show a Jordan extension past 2023. Itineraries seem very similar although reading descriptions AMA appears to have more content plus offers Jordan. Our friends who we are planning to go with have only done and prefer Uniworld. We have just one river cruise on AMA. I am looking for feedback on how to make the choice. Poor food and ship on AMA would be a deal breaker. We think the Jordan extension is important though.
  2. Thank you hamasgirl. I thought having the front balcony view would be as you described, very nice. Appreciate your opinion. I find these boards usually have more complaints than positive reviews, nice to see a favorable opinion.
  3. We booked a Concierge Suite on Friday for May, 2024 to beat the Saturday price increase and got the email about the 2 category upgrade on Monday. They did upgrade us on Monday, using our TA, to Penthouse but had to pay the $200 per person price increase. They would not refund any of the deposit however.
  4. My Sister and I just booked 900 and 700 on the Grandeur sailing May 2024. These were the only available suites in Penthouse category C and B. I read these are very claustrophobic and the balcony is small and you cannot see unless standing. My question is for anyone who has stayed in these, how "unpleasant" will our cruise experience be? Also, looking at the deck layout, these suites seem longer than the standard Penthouse Suite, true of just an allusion from the deck plans? After reading "Beware of 700, 800, 900" review, we have put in a wait list request for a change. This will be our 4th Regent Cruise, just finished the Splendor and have been on Voyager and Navigator. c
