  1. I have noticed that Royal has only been adding the UDP to the CP when they are having their CP sales in some instances.  Then once the sale ends the UDP has been removed.  This has happened on multiple sailing dates for me where they were not available for weeks, then a sale and they were all of a sudden added,  then as soon as the sale ended they were removed again.

Yes that is where I at is on my phone. Now I have all 3 in my parties set sail passes on my phone. I don't know if that is why I can't add. Or the fact that my checkin is not complete. Still have to do the health questions the day before we sail. I was able to add it on my Harmony Cruise 2 years ago. Explorer has just been added in support to the app. Maybe they haven't added that part? But there is clearly no button to add to my Apple Wallet.

Odd.  Not finishing check in completely shouldn’t cause it to not show up, as I have been able to add it before even starting check-in.  Maybe some iOS setting or app privacy setting for the Royal app in iOS settings is preventing the app from accessing your wallet?  This is what I see, just for reference.

How do you add it to your wallet in iOS?

Through the Royal app. Go to the profile section for the cruise, then tap View SetSail Pass, then Continue to SetSail Pass, then you will see an Add to Apple Wallet button.

I don’t think the jr suites have priority boarding, but I could be wrong. Right now no one is getting priority boarding…

If they give you pushback show them this:

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/crown-anchor-society/program-updates

This has been in effect since 08/24/2021.  But priority in the way of up to one hour earlier than scheduled check-in, not first on like before.  Yes, Junior Suites get this benefit, as long as your boarding pass says suite.

Those of you who have taken the Covid test with CVS, how long did it take to get your results, and were the results sent via email or via text?  Thanks for any and all information.

Within 60 minutes.  Email and text with link, also added to their MyChart app.

I am having so many problems booking through CVS's website because I was vaccinated last November. It was much easier to book with Walgreens but, they are only booking 3 days out.

Yeah, plus CVS is almost impossible if you need an appointment within 13 days.  If you log on in the morning at14 or 15 days prior to your test date, you should have no issues getting an appointment

  7. My concern would be the fitness center.  You  will be able to hear music and depending where the dumbbells are in the fitness center, the thumping and clanking of them being put back on the racks or dropped.  I am not sure about the Mariner but I have been next to a fitness center once and would never do it again.  Most of the distractions are early morning, so if you are an early riser, might not be that big of an issue.  I am not a morning person.

We were on Ovation last week in a suite.  Check-in time was 12:30 (earliest possible time for that cruise).  We were told 1/2hr before to 1/2hr after scheduled check-in time was acceptable (12-1pm).

It’s actually up to an hour before or after scheduled check-in time for any stateroom Junior Suite or above.

Miami terminal is not very strict with check-in times. I have been on two out of Miami and arrived 90 minutes before my scheduled check in and they let me and everyone else who arrived early in.  The employees advised that It really depends on how busy they are at the terminal when you arrive, as to whether or not they will let you in early.

  9. Honestly, they don’t even look at the test name.  All they verify is if it was a PCR or Antigen, the name and DOB of the person sailing, and date of test.  But that is the same test I was given (also at CVS) and I sailed on the Freedom of the Seas last week.

  10. Drink packages, specifically the Deluxe Beverage Package which includes alcohol, typically always go on sale at some point regardless of number of nights or itinerary.  Best deals can be found around Black Friday (US), which is coming up of course.  But there may be other sales based on other shopping holidays they may have in the UK (since you live in Ireland and probably book on the Royal Caribbean UK site).  Once you book your cruise, you should log into the Cruise Planner once a week and check the price, if it is on sale buy it.  You can also check this forum for posts related to new Cruise Planner sales.  Then keep checking, and if it goes down, cancel it and then re-buy it for the lower amount.  You can cancel anything in the Cruise Planner up to 2 days before sale date for a full refund.  The Deluxe Beverage package can get in to the $40s (rare), but on sale, typically it is in the $50-$70 range.  The key is to keep checking.

It won't. RC has already said as much.  Just too few people cruising right now to justify having a buffet open for dinner

I think it has more to do with staffing since most employees who work at the Windjammer are also MDR staff. So since they are serving at each station, they cant have the staff in two places at once for dinner.

Just went on the Freedom of the Seas, no reservations needed.

  12. I had both a balcony and an inside room on Freedom OTS and both fridges couldn’t even keep a small bottle of water that was just purchased and pulled from their cooler, cold overnight until the following morning.

Definitely contact Royal at the adress above to make arrangements for your medications that need to be refrigerated.

Ok guys let me make it more clear I see this is causing a little uproar and I can totally see why. By me not being in the cabin I totally mean my wife and I being on the balcony so we can keep an eye on him and not have to go in and out and make noise. He is a light sleeper so we definitely don’t want to have to go in and out. I would never leave my child alone and go wandering around the ship… just want to be clear on that.

Whew!  Thank you for the clarification. 😁  One, some children love the soothing sound of the ocean, leave the balcony door partially open, that way you can hear them and they may sleep soundly.  Two, do you have an iPhone and Apple Watch?  If so set up your iPhone on a tripod and have the display set to never turn off, and open the camera app and have it pointed at the bed.  Then you can use the Apple Watch camera app to view what your iPhones camera is seeing.

    are you sure its aft?

    They are forward, not aft.

Harr Travel has a cabin video on the Freedom of the Seas (sister ship) on YouTube for this type of cabin.  You may want to check it out to see if it is something for you.

As far as location and motion, the further forward and higher the deck you are the more motion you will feel.  However these large ships are very good when it comes to stabilization, unless you are going to be sailing through a storm, or trailing one, you shouldn't feel much in the way motion.  However, everyone has a different tolerance for that and it is all subjective to that individual.
