  1. My 100 shares isn't quite enough to get a seat on the board of directors. So my suggestion isn't worth the pixels it's written with.
  2. They are $14 billion in debt and the cost of borrowing for new investment is very high right now. As a shareholder, I'd like to see them focus on paying down some of that debt and improving service on their current assets, and canceling or postponing new ship orders until their staffing issues are resolved.
  3. Sorry to hear that. A Lyft reservation at that time seems to be about $250 on up depending on the type of car you request. But that covers 4 people and door-to-door so not bad if she has someone to share the ride with. Maybe someone from Florida knows about a shuttle service but I don't.
  4. I heard 26 inches..? I imagine anyone flying into FLL is going to have to deal with this whether or not they made their reservations with NCL air. If I had booked my own ticket and the airport was closed, I too would have to call the airline and wait on hold for them to rebook me somewhere. And then deal with my trip insurance to claim the cost of ground transportation.
  5. Are there any veteran cruisers that know the answer to my question??? Please?
  6. If you have travel insurance, you may be covered for the cost of a flight. Otherwise: Fly the bus? https://www.redcoachusa.com/ or FlixBus: Convenient and affordable bus travel in the US from $4.99 I've taken Flixbus several times and it was fine. Website is a little tricky to understand because they show all point-to-point combinations not on a route map. This comes pretty close to door-to-door service. Probably will need a 10 minute Lyft ride for the last mile from Downtown Miami to the port. Best of luck. You might also consider posting the question on the Port of Miami forum. Presumably this will affect people on all cruise lines out of FLL and Miami ports. Which is a lot of people, so act quickly.
  7. Thanks. My phone is not great for documents but I'll try. We apparently have an oddball one-off itinerary that stops in Puerto Rico instead of the BVI. Meanwhile, if you haven't seen it @hallux posted some crystal-clear dailies from a recent cruise here.
  8. Hey gang. We're not really into the rat race and since we have not been to Miami in many years, we had planned to take a leisurely morning to enjoy brunch and some sunshine and possibly visit a friend who lives there, and then get to the port in the early afternoon to board. In the past, we had shown up early and ended up stuck in a waiting room for a while, whereas we seem to be able to walk right onboard when we show up later. If we board around 1 or 2pm, meaning we are some of the last people to board, what are the chances the non-production shows that are not available to be booked online will still have reservations available? I'm talking about the clubs: Comedy, Supper, etc. We are flexible with showtimes but would probably prefer the later shows for grownups. For reference this is the Escape April 30 sailing from Miami, in Steerage. Cheers!
  9. Thank you for the extensive information and detail. Where have you been dining and what do you think of the food? Also: How do you get into the employee areas? May non-birds, and anthropomorphized serving vessels in particular, saunter into the kitchen and ask for shrimp? If you happen to try the shakshuka, let us know what you think of it. Pleasantly surprised to see that as an option for breakfast. Who doesn't? I wish my mom had used that when I went to camp instead of a thick black sharpie.
  10. This may be a niche request but if you happen to be back in the casino, can you please take a photo of the video poker screen? If it gives you a choice of game, I'm particularly interested in payouts on Jacks or Better, or multi play e.g. 3-play, 10-play etc.at the 25c or 50c level. Thanks very much SQUAWK
  11. I like micheladas. I'm pretty sure you don't need the upgrade for that because the beer brand really doesn't matter, it's overwhelmed by the tomato juice, so I just order whatever is on sale. But it's something to try if you haven't before. Other suggestions: Campari spritz Old Fashioned Martini Pina colada. Because why not? But to really appreciate the top shelf liquors and wines, order them straight. Especially bourbon, tequila etc. The whole reason cocktails were invented was to obscure the harsh taste of bad liquors. I'm assuming. When mixed with lesser liquids, they it's hard to tell the difference between the good stuff and the bad stuff.
  12. Neither weird nor irrational. I find most restaurant food to be overdressed, oversauced, and heavily overmayonnaised. I want to taste the food.
  13. I stumbled across that video again and remembered someone asking me about it. Here you go. She reviewed Cabin 9168.
  14. Also if you can take a look at some of the past NCL dailies of the ship you are considering, there is a little box in the lower right corner of one of the pages that lists the live music for the day.
  15. Several Carnival cruise ships have the Havana lounge which has a live band to which you can dance salsa, rumba, chacha etc.
  16. I have not tried it but that may be available from the salad bar at the Brazilian steakhouse. I have eaten at Fogo de Chao and their salad bar includes several charcuterie items. Yum!
  17. I have followed many of these threads and I don't think I have seen any reports of being scheduled on ultra low fare unbundled airlines like Play Air, Norse, Ryan Air, EasyJet, Allegiant, Frontier, Spirit etc. where everything is extra, even water, and there are only 2 flights per week. Have any of you been booked on one of these airlines under the ncl promo?
  18. I hope we are still sailing to PR because that is why I selected this cruise. This is our scheduled itinerary for the April 30 cruise. I can't speak to other schedules.
  19. I expect it will change somewhat because the ports change (+ San Juan PR, - Tortola BVI), and the days and arrival/departure times change (e.g. @hallux's cruise was at Puerto Plata Monday 9am-5pm, and on the April 30 sailing we are scheduled to be in Puerto Plata Friday 11am-8pm). Presumably this may have something to do with the sun setting later in the evening and also the difference in routing. I am expecting the activities to be pretty similar but scheduled at different times. And they probably rotate some of the performers out.
  20. Table tennis! Now there's a spectator sport I could sink my teeth into.
