  1. Next time, I'd ask to be not "locked" in as you were.
  2. Mostly, it's steak & seafood items, not the entire menu. They just list certain items. We're generally talking about $25 or so depending on the item. Still pretty stiff, but better than spaghetti & meatballs, which was a often special. This was a trip to Hawaii in 2020 on the Star. Food was the worst we ever had on a cruise ship. The Royal class ships get the better food overall. We'll see how this fares on our "Circle the Caribbean" trip next March.
  3. Trust me. Either are we. Now remember, I'm referring to 14 day cruises, not a short cruise. We're both in the hospitality fields. So we believe in taking care of our "own". That being said ..If you can afford to cruise, you can afford to tip. We were first hand to a couple on our tour group years back who pocketed the auto tip on a Cunard trip. My spouse was pretty insistent on leaving this couple at the pier & not allowed to board the chartered bus home. The fact these people bragged about it was horrid.
  4. Wouldn't they be able to charge it back to the credit co. Or is the way cards are done different elsewhere?
  5. We normally do Oceania. Being in the food industry, Princess has "tolerable" food. The steaks in Crown Grill are no higher than "select" grade. The Chef's table or Ultimate Balcony dinner, I'd say you're getting Prime. You don't have to go to Crown Grill. You can order items from them on the menu.
  6. Boy, you're not afraid to tell all how cheap you are! We normally do 14 day cruises. We leave on the auto tip(those who remove them should be tossed off the ship) We give the cabin attendant about $100. Same for our waiter(if we're in trad dining)
  7. For our recent Oceania trip, we had an ocean view & upgraded to a Concierge(like club class on Princess) Price was $550 total. A deal for us. I'm sure as ships will get more full as time goes by, the best thing to do is inquire the moment you get on board. They may not be able to accommodate you right off as others will have the same idea. Just compare the "upgrade" price to a cabin that would normally be in the level you want. See if it's worth it.
  8. Sounds like with all your complaining & demands, Princess won't be too sorry to see you go. We've had tables on Princess & others that are close together, but unless you're discussing issues of national security, this really shouldn't be an issue for most pax.
  9. Still surprised she lost that kind of money. Did the TA pocket it or was the cruise paid for? Sonds like a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
  10. You get 3 bags as well for Concierge guests.
  11. This is on Riviera: No sport coat required, though some like us, bring one. Mostly for the specialties. Food is excellent. Generally more so in the specialty rest. Dress overall, is what is referred to country club casual...Nice shirt/slacks(no jeans at night, except in Terrace). Day time you'll see shorts etc. which is typical. Entertainment is pretty decent. We saw little of it on our Jan. cruise on Riviera due to covid among the staff. They generally have a string quartet roaming around the ship. You'll see this during tea time.
