  1. A long delay for appointments is very typical. You will be offered the option of an interview when returning to the US at certain airports. That may well be faster (worked for me).
  2. Well it worked for me (got me to take a cruise). Going forward I think it would depend on the price. I would prefer to make air and hotel arrangements myself for most likely cruise ports.
  3. Another hair drier of the right voltage will be cheaper and far lighter than a converter.
  4. In Ketchikan Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary was the best ot the entire trip. (At least for me a Lumberjack show didn't even make the first cut).
  5. Interesting. I was on the Shadow for the same itinerary. There were very few children around and as far as I know there were no special arrangements for them (but not being a kid, I wouldn't know). Picked the Shadow as there are fewer passengers and the price was a bit lower. I know there were about a half dozen Covid cases on board as I saw the meal delivery. No idea whether they were passengers or crew. We masked in indoor public areas and did not use elevators. We were in the minority but not alone. Back for several days now so it looks like we dodged the bullets.
  6. I raised this question with Silversea last week as I have a trip arriving in Vancouver at the end of June. They assured me that on-board testing WOULD be available. I specifically mentioned the concern about adequate internet access for proctored tests.
  7. Yes that's exactly what it means. Although cruise lines have smaller expedition ships that do have landings.
  8. Do you want the PCR test so you can do the test 72 hours in advance, vs. 48?? You can circumvent this issue by using a home proctored antigen test. This type of test needs to be taken 48 hours in advance, and requires an internet connection. If this works for you it will be easier and faster. When I contacted Silversea they sent me a link for acceptable antigen tests https://store.optum.com/silversea-covid-19-tests/?utm_source=silversea-at-sea&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=&utm_campaign=optum-store-covid-tests-2022 If you NEED to do the PCR tests you should contact Silversea by phone or email for details.
