  1. Hi! I tried to do my research but I'm getting mixed experiences (which might just be the answer as well). Asking here for even more feedback. I was recently refunded by Princess and this will allow me to sail her again in 2024 or 2025 with this credit. The Grand Princess will sail September-October 2024 and January-March(into April) 2025. Debating which shoulder months will give me higher chances at calm seas on the journey there. I'm leaning towards September/October but I was told March/April is similar. Let me know your thoughts! RT from Los Angeles
  2. Is it wrong to want to look at the ocean instead of an orange tub (yes while standing at the railing)? Thanks for the heads up with the connecting cabins I'm actually the snore-er so I think next door has to worry about me instead 😁
  3. Slim pickins it was for this sailing. Originally we were on Deck 9 Dolphin and realized that we were right above the lifeboats. C255 opened up and we grabbed it right away. Looking at the deck plans it's the very first stateroom Mid-Forward that barely clears the lifeboats down on Deck 8. Can't seem to find any reviews for this particular cabin. Has anyone had the pleasure of staying in this cabin? Or C254?
  4. To close out this thread I just wanted to thank everyone for contributing and helping our family. Unfortunately something came up and we cannot make this sailing but I know now what cabin to go with in the future. In the mean time however we are on ANOTHER SAILING!! I have made a new thread to reflect cabin questions for that sailing lol. Please join me there if you have some time to waste like I do waiting to embarkation 😄
  5. Yep that extended balcony is sure enticing! 😄
  6. Good morning or afternoon (for some folks)! We have a couple standard balcony choices and I wanted to run this by you experts before I lock it in. Right now we're pretty set on Dolphin 701 or D702. They're the standard balcony category (BD) but I think it's extended due to the overhang of Deck 10 above. The other choices are all Mid-Forward (sold at a higher premium by the way but we don't mind) Lido & Marina. L232-L235 & M234-M303. I'm assuming the Lido & Marina cabins are left due to their close proximity to foot traffic. Let me know if choosing D701 or D702 is a mistake. These are the only options we have as we cannot afford a mini-suite this sailing 🙂
  7. Never had an aft cabin before (or forward for that matter), how was the motion? I've been told it's not as bad as Forward but it's also not mid-ship either so I'm curious how it felt
  8. Thank you for your detailed reply. We have cruised before just not to the caribbean. (Europe, Asia, Panama Canal, Mexico, the list goes on). We did the Bahamas many many years ago with Disney but don't have much recollection since too much time has passed lol. All of our passports are updated and ready to go!
  9. The family is sailing this January and we have narrowed it down to three itineraries. Our main goal this entire trip: white sand/postcard worthy beaches as much as possible. If local beaches aren't exactly the highlight of a particular island we would love to go on an alternative excursion too. If I did my research correctly it seems like the Barbados St Kitts itinerary would be the most favorable itinerary out of the three that fits our goals. The Curacao with Bonaire comes in second and lastly it would be the Martinique sailing? Or do I have this all wrong? I know we are essentially island hopping so beaches are inevitable but I'm curious to know if there is actually a better itinerary here compared to the rest. We would love to hear your opinions and reasons. Thank you! **Also please let us know if the weather can change drastically between early January to late January. Most of the guides I read just mentioned January as whole but not specifically how it fluctuates throughout the weeks going into February.
  10. I'm a bit...mathematically challenged. If I am calculating this right, $14.50 x 2 = $29/day. Medallion Wi-Fi single device with discount $5 x 2 = 10/day. It's up to me to see if the extra $22/day (Princess Plus $50/day) is worth it in drinks is worth it to me? Or am I calculating this wrong?
  11. Exactly what we were looking for thank you so much for helping us Susan, we appreciate you!
  12. Hey there Steelers36, we did unfortunately. We can upgrade within our 10-night, for example since Balconies are sold out we can opt for Mini-Suites but we cannot pay the difference for say a 14-day instead. I was just hoping that come tomorrow if there is the exact same itinerary but in March we can just go on that one instead without all of the hassle.
  13. Thanks PacnGoNow LOL it's fine no worries. We're just in a tight spot because Jan 28, Feb 17 sailings on the Enchanted is basically sold out per our certificate's parameters. We're praying that Princess continues this itinerary so we can get on! 😅
  14. Thank you for checking Susan. Darn, it looks like our cruise certificate is only valid for 10-day sailings. I was hoping they would continue the 10-day sailings throughout 2023.
  15. Good Afternoon from a low-level Captain's Circle member! Can any Elite members help our family to look at the new sailings to see if there are any 10-day Southern Caribbean (Barbados) sailings that were added after February 14, 2023? We're curious if it picks up right after that sailing or has a short break. Thank you!
  16. I have a choice (and only these choices unfortunately) between the Marina deck front-facing deluxe obstructed balconies or the Emerald deck forward obstructed balconies (E110, E107, E108). The Emerald deck forward is well...pretty forward but it isn't directly in the brunt of oncoming wind as the ship sails. Will it make a difference at all? Asking because if it doesn't make a difference I might as well get the Marina deck balcony as it is bigger but I may also not enjoy my time out on the balcony depending on ship speed and conditions...decisions decisions. Any advice?
