  1. Yeah. It’s way quicker because you don’t need to taxi to downtown Cozumel and then be dependent on the ferry schedule. They contract with a ferry that that pulls up right by the ship.
  2. We almost always book independent because we like not having a bus load of people where the fastest you can move is dictated by the slowest person on that tour. Also, my usual rule of thumb is if it entails more than 2 modes of transportation to get to a place, I'll book direct with the cruiseline. For example, to go to Tulum from Cozumel, you'll need 3 modes (taxi, ferry, taxi/bus) to get there. Whereas the Celebrity tour uses a ferry that departs right from the dock where the ship is. There are some excursions you have to book through the ship, like some trains.
  3. Official policy is that they will keep it for you when you reboard. I've seen tables that they set up for this purpose. But, it's actually pretty uneven. They don't always do it and just let you continue on. They won't ever confiscate and dispose. If they do take it, it will be given back at the end of the cruise. But again, this is inconsistent. We've had it both ways.
  4. You’re right. I certainly wouldn’t want my work email published like that.
  5. Great advice. Even if a watch is several generations old it’s still good. Plus using OBC helps a lot as it’s not cash (well one point it was but you know what I mean)
  6. It’s a free service and worked perfectly for us last June.
  7. I copied and posted a direct quote from the FAQ. Here’s a screenshot. Celebrity is not known for their website ease of use. This mirrors my experience this past November.
  8. Please see my post where I link to the official Celebrity policy regarding corkage. This information is not current.
  9. Yes I did this in November when we brought 4 bottles of Australian Shiraz. I had the premium package and was never charged corkage. Even in the past when there was a corkage fee for beverage package holders you were never charged at embarkation. Only if you brought the bottle into a dining room. Whatever you read they are misinformed. Hence relying on an official policy.
  10. There’s no debate on it. (Well it’s cc so there’s debate on everything LOL). But the policy is right in their FAQ: Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard up to two (2) 750 ml bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package. https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/conduct-policy#alcohol-policy
  11. Yes, room service is still complimentary for suites.
  12. They’ve never sold iPhones on board.
  13. Well one issue is that you’d be illegally entering France. I’d think that would’ve be enough.
  14. Have you been recently? We are scheduled to go in April. I’ve read other reviews that there’s a lot of sea grass there. Just trying to figure out if that’s accurate.
  15. But you are not at your club. You’re on a ship with guidelines.
  16. I would never trust what is in the app anytime up to the cruise. They are placeholders at best. Even on the cruise, they have moved.
  17. If you had sailed Celebrity during that time, you wouldn't have had a service charge either. It began in Jan 2023.
  18. It’s been a part of buying something at the spa since way back so unfortunately nothing new at all
  19. We considered doing it in November. Folks on our recent cruise that did it enjoyed it, but it was way too much time on a bus for us to do it. Just make sure you’re comfortable with that by doing Google maps from Milford to Queenstown and then onto Dunedin.
  20. Do you have personal experience with this happening? I can't see bartenders on Celebrity giving away free drinks to someone who isn't entitled to one.
  21. For a ship tour, I would automatically assume at least 45-50 folks per bus for a regular tour. And you move along at the slowest person's speed. Celebrity doesn't post the number of folks on a tour. If you want total control, I usually recommend a personal tour or small group organized by a local company where you know the number. My exception to my rule is whether it involves 2 or more modes of transportation to get to or be on the tour...then I would consider a Celebrity tour. The multiple modes could compound any issues, especially if we are new to the port.
  22. Lol. It’s not like you’ll have a choice. Just follow the folks. .
  23. No, they won’t fill them. We bring ours on board and they always make the beverage in a glass and then we pour it into our Yeti cups.
  24. Agree with the other folks. It won’t be the stuff you see in your stores, but rather what’s in duty free. It’s not a bad way to try them since you may not be used to the duty free kinds. (Especially if you have OBC to buy them with). But, generally the bartenders don’t really know more than if you do your research.
