  1. I believe that core (cash) money market positions at the major brokerages pay more than that now. Fidelity's was at 4.99% last time I checked. VG often pays a slight bit more.
  2. If there are 3000 bookings per week, I would guess that the aforementioned 100 OBC requests per week would be about right.
  3. So Jack Bogle didn't know what he was talking about?
  4. Yep, those are nice emails. Did the $599.95 show up on your online account screen as well?
  5. I saw a similar post, but they said they applied the CN to a fully paid cruise before final payment, and the CC was refunded. It may be that is what you are remembering.
  6. Many of us just create an account at a normal brokerage (i.e. Fidelity, Schwab or Vanguard). Which one is best? Well, that will always be a Ford vs. Chevy debate. 🤣 I know nothing about E*trade.
  7. My bad. I had kind of lost interest in really following this silly thread. To your point, people drawing conclusions from short term market moves know nothing. That said, Jack Bogle also said that when it comes to the stock market, nobody knows nothing. About all we know is that domestic stocks (as a whole) have never failed to provide excellent returns in the long term. Many of us have hitched our wagon to the idea that this will continue. Beyond that? Pfffttt......
  8. I seem to remember seeing percent off FCC on my online account but not the discreet $$$ FCC for a price reduction. Is my memory failing?
  9. It was a two day move, so it's officially a "trend." 🤣 disclaimer: I'm not sure anybody is being serious in this thread.
  10. I was once accused of squeezing the buck until the Eagle smiled.🤣
  11. .66 in two days? Nice. I'm buying 100,000 shares. That means I'll make over $8M in a year. 😎 disclaimer: hopefully I didn't screw up the math (again)🤣
  12. My favorites are those who get on our elevator going up and ask those already on the elevator if it's going up.
  13. That would be fantastic. Let's just "dare to dream." 🐀
  14. It's about a five minute phone call. Why not just make the call and see what happens?
  15. Just call NCL reservations and ask them to check for savings on a reprice. Occasionally an agent will tell you that it is a one time thing. They are confusing it with FCC requests after final payment date. I just repriced several cruises yesterday, for the second time, that the agent told me would be a one time thing.🤣 That's NCL for yah!
  16. So you bought the eternal dividends for $700 and, like a sucker, I bought in at $1600. Sounds like I'm going to have to make it up in volume. 🤣 disclaimer: I can do that. 😎
  17. Are you new here? (jk 🤣). From what I've read from the "experts" here on the forum, NCL will continue to spike profits by cutting service (making the stewards service 53 cabins a day, last night's karaoke champs as tonight's showroom performance, only moonshine in mason jars covered by the "free" drink package, etc.) and skipping any port that they can get away with. Lucky shareholders indeed! I say BUY!!
  18. Seriously, dude, the 100 shares of NCL stock is likely a "blip" in any meaningful portfolio. Since you admit it fluctuates in a narrow range, why not just buy and hold and cash in those $100 "dividends" every cruise ($250 for longer cruises 😎). btw: I like your username! 🤣
  19. Cruise Plum does check prices all the time. It also retains them and shows you a graph with historical prices. Most people don't want to bother with it though.
  20. Are you on a cruise with my buddy @graphicguy?! You know what that means, right???😎😎
  21. Yep. This was mostly intended as an educational thread (🤣?). It is good to hear that some are taking advantage of Cruise Plumb instead of just posting ad nauseum about how awful NCL is for raising prices all of the time.
  22. I'm guessing that it depends upon the reason for the rule. If a rule is in place for safety reasons, then I doubt the people chartering the cruise have any input. If it's more for marketing or aesthetics, then they certainly may.
  23. They did for me!! Every single cruise I had booked dropped. 😎
