    We are also in a suite. When I tried to make a reservation for specialty dining on the first night of the cruise the app wants to charge us $29/person. Our cruise is 8/29. Are you sailing before this date? I’ll keep trying and maybe I’ll be able to make the reservation without incurring a charge at some point before we sail.

     

    Also are you able to make reservations for the shows and other events? So far the app shows no events for the 8/29 sailing so once again I’m wondering if you are sailing on an earlier cruise.

    Thank you for posting this information. I was able to successfully upload photos of our vaccine cards. It seems like every day there Is one more step to do so I really appreciate all the information that is being shared in this string and the DMW string. I’m learning so much!

    You can use an existing photo for your Profile pic but the Security pic doesn't give that option. It wants you to take a new photo from within the app and it gives an "outline" to put your head and face into for the pic.

    They must have changed the system as I was able to use a photo on my phone for my security photo. I didn’t have to take a selfie but I did my photos about 3 weeks ago so it sounds like the system has changed.

I get notice if any of my Apps has a new version to install.  But not with MC App.  She mentioned a new release, so I deleted and re-installed.  After the install from Play Store, it changed to an UPGRADE button, so I did that.

    @Steelers36Thanks so much for posting this information. I have an iPhone but I did as you suggested and deleted and reinstalled the app this morning. I was finally able to make dining reservations for our November 20th sailing. I was also able to complete the health status form for our August 29th sailing. Very happy that the app is working better for me today.

    Iphone Medallion Class app revision 3.1.3 came out July 13th.  It says Health & Vaccine Submission form available in MCLass Ocean Ready Checklist.  I assume this is part of Health Status link; which you can not submit until 72 hrs prior.  Any thoughts on this? 

    We are sailing on August 29th and I was able to complete the health status section today. We’ve now got 5 green check marks and our QR code says proceed to the green lane. I guess we’ll see if we have to confirm the information again just a few days before the cruise.

    Another thing that is helpful to know if you can mix and match items on the menu. For example I’m really picky about vegetables so if I don’t like a vegetable that comes with my entree I tell them to leave it off and substitute something for another entree. You really can pick and choose whatever you like from anything on the menu. Also if you get something and you don’t like it then you send it back and order something else. It’s your vacation and they will bring you whatever you want from the menu. 

     

    You said you prefer “to figure it out yourself”. Well once you figure out what you can/want to eat just tell your waiter and they will bring you what you order.

     

    As for the buffet you have never needed a reservation but that was before COVID. I don’t think we will know for sure if it will require a reservation until the first ship sails on 7/25. If I had to bet I’d say it will be the same as before with no reservation required. I think the only difference will be the staff will serve you whatever items you want. You’ll point to what you want and they’ll put it on the plate for you. This will actually be a really good change and one many of us hope will continue into the future.

    Once you are able to get into the MC app there are 2 screens you can complete under “My Preferences”. One is for “Allergens” and the other is for “Dining”. Here are screen shots of the dietary restrictions you can enter through the MC app.

    In my experience Princess takes excellent care of travelers who have specific dietary needs. We travel with friends who are vegan and each night the head waiter works to develop meal options for them for the next evening. Our friends basically tell the head waiter what they want to eat and the chefs make it happen. Our friends love the food they get in the MDR each evening. They were very apprehensive (as you are) the first time they sailed but they were so impressed with how their dietary restrictions were handled by Princess. After their first cruise they said this was some of the best vegan food they have ever had and they have continued to take additional cruises and the service has always been outstanding.

     

    Aside from the MDR you will also have access to many food options at the buffet. I don’t know what your restrictions are but I’m sure you will be able to find option at the buffet as well. There is also the International Cafe which is open 24 hours per day.

     

    I really don’t think you need to bring your own food on the ship. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the options available for you and how Princess dining room staff will work with you to develop meals that you are able to eat each day.

     

    I’m sending positive thoughts your way for your upcoming cruise. We are taking the same cruise on August 29th and can’t wait!

    I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I tried for several days and it looked like everything was working until I got the message at the end. I was using an iPhone 8+ so I decided to try my using my husband’s iPhone X. The first time I tried it I had the same issue but then I hit “retry” which was an option and it suddenly worked. So my advice is to keep trying and if you have an option that says “retry” hit that a couple times.

    Thanks for reporting this issue to Princess. It also doesn’t have Seattle or Sacramento airports listed. In fact when I looked at the drop down options it only has airports listed that begin with an A, B or C. The last airport option I have on my drop down menu is COW - Coquimbo. I have no idea where this is! I guess the app developer in charge of entering all the airports went home for the day and perhaps this person will enter some additional airports tomorrow.

    I did this a few weeks ago so it’s possible the app may be having problems now with the passport information. When I did it I received a prompt to scan my passport using the camera on my phone. The app had me focus the camera on the bottom of the passport under my photo and it was able to enter all my passport information into the app. But you need to double check it as it changed the Y’s in my name to V’s. After I changed and verified the information was correct the app asked me to take a photo of the passport. That was it…..a 2 step process and the app walked me through the 2 steps.

    I had difficulty getting our passport information entered too. It took me trying for a week before it finally accepted the scan and photo. I first used my iPhone 8+ and had no luck. I also used an iPad 6th generation and also had no luck. After 1 week I tried using my husband’s iPhone X and at first I got the error message but then I hit “retry” and it accepted his passport. I was then able to enter my passport on his iPhone X. So long story short….keep trying and use multiple devices to try and get the information entered. It shouldn’t be this difficult.😣

    Were you able to make DMW nightly reservations? When is your cruise? I’m still not able to make DMW reservations for a November 2021 cruise. Only cruise that DMW worked was August 29th cruise. I keep trying everyday to make reservations for our November cruise but so far it’s not working.

  14. Has anyone been able to book DMW reservations for cruises in November 2021? I was successful in booking reservations for our August cruise but I haven’t been able to make reservations for our November cruise. I’m thinking I just need to be patient but thought I’d check to see if anyone else has had problems booking for sailings later in the year. 

  15. We are platinum and have booked a full suite for the 8/29 cruise and received no advance notice to choose an arrival group. Got lucky and was able to book Group A for 11:30-11:15 arrival. I’ve been checking the Medallion app daily. Only step left now is the health questionnaire. So happy to be going on a cruise again!!!
