We will be on the next Beyond sailing to the ABC islands and first time dining in Luminae. I’m wondering if they have French onion soup on the menu each night? If not, would you mind asking if it’s possible to get it nightly by request? We loved it on the Ascent in the 4 regular dining rooms. This will only be our 2nd X cruise so we are still learning how they operate.

I’d love to know if you are given the option to purchase either Plus or Premier when you get on the ship.

I’m going to be very unhappy if this glitch prevents us from purchasing a package on my phone and we have to go to guest services to resolve. I, like you, am currently blocked from purchasing a package pre-cruise because of this issue. I’m also slightly irritated that we weren’t able to purchase Premier before the price increase.

Perhaps when you are in a suite you can book dining earlier than those not in suites. Our friends who couldn’t book early weren’t in a suite. 🤷‍♀️

Are you currently Platinum or Elite level with Princess? If you are, then you should be able to book dining now and may want to call Princess. If you aren’t in one of these loyalty levels I believe you have to wait until you make final payment before you can book dining reservations. At least this is how it worked for our friends who were sailing with us who are first time Princess cruisers. I ended up booking the SD for the 4 of us since I’ve reached Elite level.

@dog I’m getting the same thing for a M2 cabin for which we haven’t paid for the Premier package. I’m still not expecting us to get the package until we pay for it onboard, which was our plan all along.

(We have an M2 also, booked last April, and we booked with the Plus package , which is what we currently show as still having, Access to the Sanctuary Club but not to the lounge.)

We did not purchase the Premier package and our cruise was booked on 1/8/24, which was before all these changes were made. We normally wait and purchase Plus when we board so we can use our OBC to pay for some of it.

When I go into our booking it says we have: 1. Exclusive access to the Sanctuary Club, 2. Your own private restaurant, 3. Exclusive access to the Suite Lounge. Also when I click on packages it says “You’ve purchased Princess Premier, great choice”. 

It will be interesting to see what we get when we get onboard. As long as we can dine in the reserve/signature dining area we will be happy as that’s what we originally booked and paid for. Anything else will just be icing on the cake!🎂

Your comment made me smile. I’ve got a dedicated washcloth I bought in Greece which now goes with me on all European vacations. I’ve yet to stay in a European hotel which had washcloths. We just returned from England and Scotland and I was so glad to have my own.

Looking forward to your experience on APEX as we have a cruise booked on her in February.

Did you order from the Blu menu while dining in Luminae? We have booked our first suite on Beyond for next month and I’m hoping to be able to order from the Blu menu and DH would most likely prefer Luminae menu. Just wondering if we can do that while in Luminae or if we physically need to dine in Blu to get the healthy options? We are booked in an Aqua Sky Suite so I believe we have the option of dining in either Luminae or Blu. Are Retreat guests able to board at any time? When we checked in the earliest time available was 1:00 pm. Any one know what the earliest check in time is for Beyond out of FL? TIA

Following along and wishing you a fabulous vacation! We are doing the same ABC cruise in September and can’t wait. I booked it because Captain Kate will be onboard and as a fellow cat lover I’m hoping to get a Bug siting while on the ship.

Merida is a beautiful cat and sounds similar to our cat Jasmine. She is friendly with the pet sitter when we are home but as soon as we leave she either hides or hisses and growls at her when she comes over to feed her. 

If you are able, I’d love to see the dinner menus for Blu. We are booked in an Aqua SS but from what I’ve read I think we may prefer the food in Blu to Luminae.

I’m on this cruise but will pass on these extra packages. Interesting though that we haven’t received any notice from Princess on these packages. We’ve got Spellbound booked which will be enough for our group.

We are currently in Canada and all we did was fill out a customs declaration form and show our passports to enter from the U.S. We drove over the boarder from New York but I would assume it’s the same process if you are flying from U.S. into Canada.

We were able to book SD reservations 6 months in advance. Our cruise is 11/2/24 and we booked all SD reservations on 5/7. For Spellbound we booked on 3/22 when the reservations were open for a few hours one night. 

@bnickle Thank you for taking us along on your journey. We will be on the Sun in November so looking forward to hearing about your experience. I love your attitude with rules 1, 2, and 3. Always look for the best in things when traveling and experiencing new things. I’m always so thankful for every trip we are able to take and the memories I have when returning home. I’m remembering our 2 trips to Barcelona as we did many of the same things you are doing this week. I too was fascinated with Gaudi and one of my favorite photos was taken on the balcony at Casa Batlló. The Segrada Família is other-worldly and I hope to go there a 3rd time when finally finished.

Let’s try this again. Interesting notification from Princess this morning on the Sanctuary Collection on the Sun and Star Princess. Looking forward to hearing more about this as well as the cost of upgrading our mini-suite cabin.
