Also just used Fast track. If anything it added time for us. got to line for fast track. Employee told us that we could only use it if we were flying first/business class and it was on our boarding pass. Showed her our paper work and she said it was for lounges and boarding plane only. I told her she was wrong and she reluctantly let us try where it “remarkably” worked. Would not use it again.

Surviving the Ship’s Laundry?
Jkaczanowski replied to LB_NJ's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The $35 laundry special bag on Odyssey. Clothes laid flat in a pile and rolled tight - like rolling a sleeping bag. We’re on a 12 day Odyssey cruise with our 2 teens and sent out T-shirt’s, shorts, pajamas, underwear, and socks twice. Used diamond discount so $25 each time. Did not notice any problems with the clothes when they came back. -
Odyssey may not go to to Ashdod Israel tomorrow
Jkaczanowski replied to sandebeach's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Better analogy would be your cable or internet going out and your provider refusing to credit you for the days you were without service. In this case, junior suites were priced at grand suite rates and grand suites at star class prices. Don’t get me wrong - it was the right decision to leave Israel but the credit provided was only about 1/8 the premium paid. -
I appreciate you asking the question. Currently on Odyssey now and scrambling to find tours for Santorini and Chania

Odyssey may not go to to Ashdod Israel tomorrow

Shore excursions are supposed to be posted to the app once available. Only 1 staff at Shore excursion desk at 6:30 when we walked by. Expect they are all scrambling right now. -
Odyssey may not go to to Ashdod Israel tomorrow
Jkaczanowski replied to sandebeach's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We just arrived and they started immigration at 1:30. Everyone was told to do immigration and get back on ship. Now 5PM. Captain came on 4:15 and said we were leaving ASAP rerouting to Santorini and Chania. shore excursions is supposed to start posting tours in next 2 hours but prefer private. I’m also worried with everyone booking at once, things will sell out -
Odyssey may not go to to Ashdod Israel tomorrow
Jkaczanowski replied to sandebeach's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Hi everyone! We’re currently on Odyssey Holy Land. We were supposed to dock Ashdod yesterday but they sent us to Haifa instead. They just announced we’re leaving in next 30 minutes as a “red alert” has been announced. We’re now heading to Santorini on Friday the 12th and Chania on Saturday the 13th. I know nothing about these ports and would appreciate any help with suggestions. thank you in advance -

Once final payment is made, our cruise planner/travel agent puts through the request through AMEX and the OBC credit then shows immediately in the cruise planner -

Late departure? How does one buy it?
Jkaczanowski replied to LoganTheCruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, and Bayonne (New Jersey). All had facial recognition. Never seen a line more than a couple people even when one of my teens inevitably beeps and has to see a real customs agent -
Teenagers causing damage to ship this week
Jkaczanowski replied to CruisingHogFan's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We’ve been on 7 or 8 cruises with RC since pandemic - prior to that we sailed Disney. We never saw or heard of an incident onboard RC until this past January on Harmony. There was a group of at least 50-60 teens celebrating a quince. Seemed like there was a couple chaperones but no real supervision. Tons of cutting in line at the flowrider and one of the teens tried to steal my towel that was on the bench while I was in line - I confronted him and made him out it back. Sports staff said it had been horrible. My 14 year old always leaves teen club at midnight when they close, gets a couple slices of pizza, and is back in the room by 12:45. On the last night of this cruise, however, he and a couple friends were assaulted (pushed and shoved) after pizza and were afraid to separate to go back to their rooms alone. They (all 4 of the boys) came to our room and I accompanied them to guest services to make a report and security walked the other boys to their rooms. I’ve never seen anything like it. -
We’ve always submitted the special needs request but I think there was only 1 cruise where it was waiting. If it’s not there, ask your stateroom attendant. They will provide a gallon jug of distilled and an extension cord, if needed. 5 different ships - No problem at all

Flowrider current policy question
Jkaczanowski replied to topnole's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think it’s all over the place and probably depends more on ship and staffing. I just pulled the 12 night Odyssey Holy Land that started 2 days ago (we’re doing similar itinerary in May) and I’m seeing at least 2 hours stand up plus 2 hours mixed wave on sea days. Limassol port day is 2 hours advanced, 3 hours mixed wave. -
Flowrider current policy question

Sign waiver on ship on Allure in September, white band for boogie. To try stand up you had to get a green band (given at waiver sign up if you told them you had ridden before). At the end of 2 or 3 tries (no help) you lost your green band and either got a blue band or you were told to sign up for a class or stick to boogie. I did a class and did stand up no problem. the rest of the cruise. Not sure if you could get another green band on another day. Independence at end of September, staff let me try 2 times and since I was close, let me get in line to try again. Wave had a giant rooster tale in the middle making it challenging for a newbie like me. I’ve heard 1 extra hour per cruise for Key, but don’t quote me on that. -

Amex platinum cruise privileges run around

My agent is an independent franchise owner with a large travel agency that is not high end. That being said, most / much of her business is star class and suites so she may be participating because of that. -
Amex platinum cruise privileges run around
Jkaczanowski replied to cusematt4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My travel agent is also signed up with American Express Platinum and had my $300 OBC applied to my January 7th sailing when I made my final payment in late September. It required her to contact someone at American Express to verify the booking was eligible (all payments made with Amex platinum) and then either she or they applied a “code” to the booking. -
Supposed to be on Independence out of PC on Friday. We live in New Hampshire and were scheduled to fly into MCO Thursday night. Doubt that flight will happen. Can’t just drive from here so changed to a flight to FLL arriving 11PM Thursday night, then we’ll drive up. New flight is FULL. We’ll see if it happens.
