  1. Forgot to add we had a leak in our irrigation system, tried to get a credit and was denied, found out what you are really getting is a credit for the sewer charge since the leaked water didn't make it there. Was bummed but makes sense, kinda. At least how it works here.
  2. We have separate meters for our irrigation/outside faucets and the main water for the house. Sewer is based on the main water meter. Coming from a home in the country where we had a well and septic that cost was a bit of a surprise but getting used to it, pros and cons of each. We also are in a 1 story, no basement and limited attic. Water heater in garage, laundry room between garage and house. We purged a lot when we moved south but not enough, still going thru closets, attic, garage, etc and getting rid of things we haven't used since here. Slow process and yes it does help with new purchases makes me really think if we need it.
  3. We spent a lot of time in NYC when we lived in NJ. We were a little over an hour west and DH worked in the city on and off for many years. I would hop on the train and meet him there on a Friday night. Lots of great places to visit and fairly easy to get around once you knew how. Of course was always happy to get back home to our 2+ acres in the woods but enjoyed our visits.
  4. Yeah!! Enjoy your trip. @sgmn hoping you all have same results, looking forward to hearing about your trips.
  5. My grandson had similar issues until he was just over a year old, my daughter needs to be gluten free and son in law has tree nut allergies (can and dies eat peanuts since they are not in that category). Food in their house is tough to begin with almonds are used in place of wheat for a lot of things, add in grandsons "allergies" and breastfeeding was very tough. Thankful he has outgrown those issues and well past the formula stage, she did supplement with one of those special formulas that are now crazy hard to get. One of his favorite foods is now bagels and lox with cream cheese! Agree never heard of so many issues when we were young does make you wonder what we are putting in our bodies to mess them up now. Been away for a few days, family stuff taking up a lot of time, anyways sorry if I missed any celebrations, etc tried to scan a bit but know I missed a lot. Did see Top Gun chat, we went to see it in the theater yesterday definitely recommend. Watched the original, on Prime the night before, well worth it. Safe travels to all heading out soon and 🤞for negative tests.
  6. We were fortunate our daughter and son in law were both fairly cost conscious. We also got lucky that they found a great venue at a fairly new winery just outside DC that was looking to grow their wedding business. A few months after we secured a date they were voted one of the top 10 wedding venues in the DC area. Of course on the other side she figured use my dress, I think I have posted some pics before of the before and after, to save some money, hah. She ended up having a woman in Georgetown do the work who dealt with many higher up individuals in the DC area, beautiful work but ended up costing as much if not more than a new dress. We were fortunate son in laws parents were very involved, almost too much if you ask my daughter, and paid for some things. Overall she stayed within our budget just barely. Weddings are tough you want them to be great for your kids but also hope to reign in some costs. As for boys vs girls our son is doing his best to kick that to the side. Still single and living his best life, keeping us on our toes.
  7. Hhmm how to decide, maybe one of each 😜 hiccup. Thanks for including me in this wondrous thread, I don't care what it is called as long as it stays, so enjoy "catching up" with everyone here. Must just be some newbies to CC who see the title and have to put their 2 cents in, we just need to ignore them all and hopefully they go away.
  8. There are no words that could fully express our heartbreak. We are all here for you through this difficult time. 💔 Not sure what the proper time is but DH and I went from positive to negative, one 7 days the other 8 although we both felt better before the negative tests. Not sure there really is a normal, hear things all over.
  9. Here is a collage a friend put together from around the NC/SC border, shots were about 15 minutes apart. Yes he does have fancy equipment. I didn't make it but everyone I know who did said it was worth it.
  10. Woo hoo for all the negative tests, enjoy your cruises, we will all be looking forward to your pictures and reviews. Safe travels!!
  11. Welcome, I am a NJ native, most recently Hunterdon County, but moved south almost 5 years ago. This is definitely a great group, I try to keep up but it's hard at times with so much great conversation. Don't comment a lot but try to like posts to let others know we are here. By the way I am April.
