Poor Food & Hygiene Anthem of the Sea's
J0Y0US replied to joyo99's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Have you? Having food on the floor before you open is sort of a no no. Have some diehard Royal defenders it seems in this thread. -
They don't have to do that. They can look down on you all they want. I can care less either way. Just as you can wear shorts they can pine for the old days and dislike the new norm. You can also laugh when the look down on you BTW.

My experience -5 proctored Covid tests in one day

What type of phone do you have? Also do you have a company based email on your phone? If android you can get a longer time out but if there is a company based email on the phone they may be limiting the screen timeout length. -
Almost 2 year old Cruising on Oasis
J0Y0US replied to kristenb87's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You might know this but was a shock to be originally with our kids. Swim diapers don't do anything except catch solid waste. So essentially peeing right in to whatever water they are in. It's partly why they don't allow it various places. -
Liberty pre-cruise concierge email

Sidetrack On Royal what is the back and forth with concierge? Been on NCL Haven and Disney Suite levels before. -
Beverage and Dining package deals

Just go in the cruise planner under your purchase history and cancel there. It will refund all the same and save you a call. -
Is Walgreens discontinuing rapid NAAT test?
J0Y0US replied to BaybeeLetsCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thing is every cruise I took this last year until this one I only needed to test at port. Even the "pre cruise" testing in December was done at the port just the day before. -
You are supposed to show up at the time you are slotted when you checked in otherwise they wouldn't even make it an option to select arrival times. From the sounds of it people arriving early have clogged up the lines at times this spring so far.

validating vaccination info on app
J0Y0US replied to watertraveler's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Never even saw a spot to provide my vaccination cards for our group other than just text entering the data. Don't see anywhere that states validated or not as well. -
This is the way to go additionally they can curb bookings right now like NCL did for Pride of America to avoid "over booking" for what they have regarding staffing.

Have you increased the pay range increasingly over that time or do you personally have a view on what its worth and stick to that? We actually have more full time employees in the US now than prior to the pandemic. So yes it is nonsense to say people don't want to work categorically as a reason people can't hire someone.

Everything you described is self inflicted by Royal. Also there are places that sit every seat in the place upon opening. You will find this occurring at places like dinner theater where everyone shows up for dinner prior to the show at the same time. You also find this every weekend at weddings and such. As an example with Disney they started doing 3 arrival times for both early and late dining. Royal could do that as well do spread out sittings.

And? Thats the beauty those college grads can choose where they want to start. They can also cut out in 3/6 months right as you finished training because they found a better job to start their career at.
-
A company can put whatever they want in to a contract it doesn't mean 1) it's legal 2) its outcome will be accepted by the customer 3) it's outcome will not be viewed by the public poorly and get traction in the media and social media Yes people can complain about to much demanding compensation but there is a difference between that and only going by the cruise contract. They could cut every cruise port and give no compensation doesn't mean it's the correct thing even if it abides by a cruise contract (see some of the recent Alaska cruises).

Kind of like businesses wanting people with college education to make coffee and do medial work I could have done out of high school.

No issues with Disney or Norwegian When I was on those lines. Going to be on Royal in June and all these stories are solidifying my choice to stick with Unlimited Dining.

You make it sounds like a huge ordeal. The menu is on the phone, when they stop by to clear the dishes you tell them the dressert you want. This has and is the case around the US to this day in resturants of all sizes and make.

Adapting? I have been on multiple cruises since covid and this is squarely a Royal "problem". NCL and Disney did not have this same issue. Possibly Royal should go to ordering in the app for those who want to if wait staff is that short.

Quantum May 9, 2022 7 Nights Alaska Not Very Live
J0Y0US replied to twangster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
From my understand you meet up with the ship at port. I also was looking at the videos on youtube and could never see the smaller boat as of yet so interested in that answer.
