  1. we booked this for our daughter she had fun but in no way was it worth 350.00. it was about a total of 5 hrs of the week she spent doing the "barbie thing" and on the big fashion show it seemed like the crew didnt really try to hard to get the kids to participate. the big fashion show at the end had only the familys of the kids who were in it and in a small venue. i think there were 6 kids

just my 2 cents glad she did it wont do it again

Sorry but who in the world would care to watch that OTHER than the families of the kids in the program? Where should they do it at the main theater with nobody there? You choose the venue (small) to go witht he interest or in the case of a kids fashion show more appropriately LACK of any interest. Although yes there is no way we would pay $350 for that. I would stick with the FREE adventure ocean program.

  2. Has the new procedure for loading free drinks onto seapass cards come into force yet or are there still Diamond and above lounges. going on Serenade again in April on transatlantic

Preloading of drinks has nothing to do with diamond lounges. Ship with lounges will still have them. The loading of drinks on sea pass cards is instead of the free drink coupon you used to get. All the coupons are now on the card and no coupon book. Does not affect the lounge hours at all.

  3. Okay, I'd like to have NO responses from the "holier than thou" people who only have negative comments to write, and apparently have never lied or done ANYTHING wrong in their life....what exactly does this thing do? It says that it's undetectable....so the x-ray machines don't see that there's liquid in there? As stated previously, I have never heard of this before, but am interested.

Again, only constructive answers please. No answers from those that are perfect, please.

You are out of luck. When cheapskates post ridiculous questions that a simple search could have answers they are just outing themselves as being cheapskates.

  4. A very good question-Perhaps someone can explain what the difference would be if you brought two bottles of wine-two bottles of liquor or even a twelve pack of beer. My wife drinks only Allens coffee brandy and its only available in New England. Just asking

So you dont know the difference between to bottles of wine and two bottles of rum? Wow

  5. I'm with you, Patty W....I can't see where wine is any different than other alcohol! I think it would be great if you could bring your own beer!

And if we could anly bring our own hamburgers think how yummy! Yeah and our own crab cakes! Oh and our own washers and dryers so we could do a bunch a laundry........

  6. So by extending your current argument, we who bring our own champagne and wine on board must all be cheapskates or claiming allergies to the wine onboard. This is reaching, even for you.

Personally yeah I think if you have to bring your own wine you are a cheapskate but the BIG difference is Royal SAYS you CAN bring two bottles. So have at it!

  7. Aren't you jumping to conclusions? All she wants is information not a smart alec reply. And BTW, when was the last time you read your entire cruise contract?

You might be in the habit of spending thousands of dollars with a company without reading the fine print but dont lump me in with ya. As far as being a cheapskate are you figuring she has a medical need for a bunch a beer in her suitcase? Maybe allergic to the 'paid' beer onboard?

  8. FYI I might have been on many cruises, but only one with RCCL a few years ago.....

And as you can smartly see in my signature I cruise mostly with Carnival and it's allowed with Carnival to bring a 6 pack of beer....

    Want to try again?

    Carnival Cruise Line

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring on board one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, only in their carry-on luggage. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the main dining room; $14 corkage fee per bottle in the steakhouse. Guests may bring a small quantity (package of 12 per person) of non-alcoholic beverages. All prohibited alcohol, excessive quantities of wine/champagne or non-alcoholic beverages will be removed and stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained item(s) will be delivered to your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Unsealed containers with prohibited liquids will be discarded, as well as any unclaimed items left after the voyage, and no compensation will be given in either case.

  9. I have been both mid ship and the very front of the ship (overlooking the helipad on Allure). I can suffer quite badly with motion sickness and honestly, I didn't notice too much difference in either location. On my first cruise we had a mid-ship GS and I felt vile the first night and the ship was barely moving! The $2k extra seems like a considerable amount but obviously, it is your vacation and if you feel like you can make the most of the full 'suite perks' and it would be better for you then go for it. If either of you are prone to motion sickness, have you tried different medications? That option would be considerably cheaper than the upgrade.

Like you said though, you could wait and see what becomes available and the cost to upgrade may reduce as well but of course as you know there is no guarantee on that!

    Jo :)

We have sailed mid ship and aft without noticing much difference at all. I would say it is not worth 2k.

  10. we will be on enchantment of the seas this next week. i think that we will be doing a lot of our meals, esp. breakfast in our cabin,, do they put tips on your card all the time or is it only between certain hrs, also what is the normal tip to give them when they bring it to your room? there will be 2 of us in the room.thank you so for answering the questions that some of us ask, over, and over, and over again. you guys are a blessing to the ones that doesn't do cruising on a reg, basis. by the time we get around to our next cruise, either things has changed or we are to old to remember,

You just fill out a card the night before and hand it on your door with a requested time. We just keep singles in the room and give like $2 if we order something. We dont usually order from them as the menu is so limited. You can also go up to the WJ and get a plate and cover to bring back to your balcony.

  11. Thank you for the input! While I have read the suggestions on the RCCL website, I wanted to know what is more accurate in reality. So if someone wore, for example, jeans and a t-shirt on a casual night, would that be acceptable? And what about the kids? We have three daughters and our little one(who is going to be just shy of 3 during the cruise), is very opinionated about what she wears. Do they enforce the dress code with littles as well? I can imagine her insisting on shorts :P

How about you tell your 3 yr old what she is to wear. Most likely the staff wont say anything. Common sense should though.

  12. I've had a CPAP mach for over 10 yrs now and if you don't have distilled water you can use tap water. The distilled water is so the Dish/pan which is at least partially metal doesn't get a lime build up. Just when you get back home let the dish sit in distilled water for a few hours and the build up comes right off.

    Tap = ok

    Bottled water = better

    Distilled = best

I would get a bottle of water if possible before I use tap.

  13. You sure about that? Something like 11 state have age of consent as 18, with some additional states allowing for charges under corrupting or endangering a minor even if they are >Age of Consent but <18.

Also, if you were to photograph and (intentionally or accidentally) distribute inappropriate pictures of your 17 yo sig other, independent of whether you're >18 or not you could also get hit w/it. Here's an example of potential charges like that being filed - http://pix11.com/2013/03/14/snapchat-sexting-scandal-at-nj-high-school-could-result-in-child-porn-charges/

Yeah I am sure of that. Just because age of consent is 18 doesnt mean an 18yr old will get a 19yr old in trouble.

Also the link you provided mentions no charges except possible trouble with school like being suspended. Secondly the girl was 15. So if a boy was distributing pics of her I have no problem with that prosecution.

  14. If you have an outstanding warrant, or violating probation, etc... I'm completely for it!

IF, you have done your time and fulfilled all the requirements and are now a productive member in society then you should be able to cruise like anyone else. You shouldn't continue to get judged again for a past offense that you have fulfilled. If it is a serious repeat offender with a long history then I could see where some judgment is warranted.

I have a real problem with the "sex offender" label. It is frequently misapplied. I have often said you're better off murdering someone in cold blood than being labeled a sex offender. At least for murder you can do your time and put it in the past. The sex offender label never goes away. I have seen it misapplied too many times to kids in school or just out of school that dated, sometimes in a serious relationship, and are only a couple years apart. In some cases I've heard of them getting married and being together for many years but because he was 18 and she was 17 when they met he's a sex offender for life. Stupid. Now if it is a 45yo man perving on a 11yo kid that is a completely different story. The problem is they are all treated exactly the same which does justice for no one.

I served on a jury for a domestic abuse case. It was a he-said, she-said case. Problem was she wasn't even at the trial, but we were not allowed to hold that against her. Once the trial was over, I found out as a jury how manipulated we had been by the judge and atty and the information were not given. If it wasn't for that, the verdict would not have been guilty!

There are no cases of an 18yr old dating a 17yr old and being labeled a sex offender for life. It takes more a difference than that.
