  1. Some features likely will be; things like the Roll Glider will probably incur a charge.
  2. It does! It will be a special dinner that will take place in a private area at the back of the Americana Diner on Deck 8. It will have its own unique menu.
  3. Thank you! It's a good ship - people just need to be prepared for the differences.
  4. Here's my latest missive from the ship: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/is-sun-princess-the-future-of-princess-cruises We were able to road-test Spellbound last night in its basic form. It will open for reservations on March 19 and debut on April 8. Overall, a really fascinating experience.
  5. Precisely. Always good to be flexible. It's possible that, like The Enclave thermal suite within the Lotus Spa, pricing for other features could be dynamic and dependent upon the length of the voyage. We'll just have to see.
  6. This is the most complete information I've seen so far. As I say, though, this will probably be highly subject to change.
  7. Here's one shot of the Fitness Center and the jogging track, which runs around the Park19 area on Deck 19 (it's the red-colored area on the decking). I'll try to snap some of the free weights and Fitness Studio. You are correct - classes will be held there.
  8. FYI for those re: the Sanctuary and other areas. Princess is still determining some of the features onboard -- such as where the dedicated seating will be in The Arena for Princess Premier guests, for example. I'd expect that things like pricing on the first few voyages will be highly subject to change until Princess finds the "sweet spot".
  9. I've found it to be very fast and efficient, even for shore excursions. They typically open the forward and midship gangways, which are oversized compared to the typical cruise ship. There are typically two or three lines scanning medallions, and two lines doing security checks on the way back onboard.
  10. None, I'm afraid. I hear it's undergoing a complete decor changeover, so I wouldn't expect it to be done anytime soon.
  11. A lot of it sounds like it was due to supply chain issues and the late delivery of the vessel from Fincantieri. Other than that, I couldn't speculate.
  12. There doesn't appear to be an internet cafe aboard Sun Princess, but you can certainly access it with your own devices. Speeds are reasonably good.
  13. I'll try to find answers to these questions for you! I'm curious about all of them myself.
  14. I was able to check out Firefly Park, for ages 0-6, on embarkation day but didn't make it to the 8-12 or teens clubs. They're pretty well closed off to random people walking through at this point, but I'll see if I can set up a time to view them. This probably doesn't help much, but here's Firefly Park:
  15. I can find out; I'm all the way forward on a higher deck and haven't heard any noise to speak of.
  16. I'll look into the costs for Park19. To add here for all, Princess has communicated expected opening dates for various venues. They are: Dome shows will begin on March 19, 2024 Arena shows will begin rolling out on March 29 Park19 is open, minus the ropes course, which will be completed March 29, and RollGlider, which will be done on April 27. Spellbound is being tested on this voyage; it should be operational by March 19, 2024.
  17. Hi everyone, Cruise Critic is sailing aboard Sun Princess this week on the ship's second voyage. We're on for a quick jaunt between Barcelona and Athens and while there are many helpful and exhaustive threads here on Sun Princess already, we wanted to pass along our first coverage from this sailing, a Photo Tour of many of the ship's public areas and accommodation spaces. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/photos-of-sun-princess Any questions, do ask - happy to try to answer!
  18. I was going to post that I'm onboard Sun Princess for Cruise Critic, but I see @CanadianBurger is doing an amazing job! Carry on, sir!
  19. Cruise Critic sailed Carnival Spirit to Alaska in 2022 and found a lot to like about the experience! Here's the two pieces I wrote (lots of photos in both). https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/is-carnival-the-best-cheap-cruise-to-alaska https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/sailing-on-carnival-cruise-line-in-alaska-live-from-carnival-spirit
  20. An excellent point. We are, at this point, going on the information AQV has provided to us. That's part of the reason I'm interested in following this refund process.
  21. We've updated our article on Cruise Critic with all the latest information, including links that are also found here to AQV's refund/claims process. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/american-queen-voyages-ceases-operations If anyone here is actively submitting a refund claim, can you let us know how it goes and whether the process works? I can be contacted via email at asaunders@cruisecritic.com.
  22. Hi all, We've regretfully learned and verified that American Queen Voyages has ceased all operations as of Tuesday night, February 20. Our story, which we're updating is below. Details are still scarce at this time. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/american-queen-voyages-ceases-operations
  23. TxTeach79, thanks so much for this amazing thread! I embark Carnival Celebration on Sunday and you've done an amazing job of highlighting the experience onboard for everyone here. So, thank you!
  24. Hi everyone, My family and I returned back from a holiday in Alaska aboard Disney Wonder a few weeks ago, and I've written about the experience here: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/just-back-from-a-disney-wonder-cruise-to-alaska-with-disney-cruise-line Happy to answer any questions about the ship or the trip that you may have!
  25. You're absolutely fine to do that. We travel with one for our young daughter all the time and have found it useful.
