Thanks for confirming that the markets stay open after Christmas - do you know which ones are likely to stay open?

We have booked our next cruise which involves arriving in Cologne on the 28th December 2025 and will cruise to Basel calling at Koblenz, Speyer, Rudesheim, Mainz and Strasbourg. This will be the period between Christmas and New Year - will there be any special events in these ports after Christmas? We will be in Basel for New Year's Eve and will remain there until early morning on 1st January 2026. I understand there will be fireworks in Basel at the start of the New Year - where would be the best place to see them? Many thanks in advance for any information/feedback. We will be sailing on the Amadeus Silver ii.

From looking at the paperwork - it appears that alcoholic drinks are not included in the price for Lord of the Glens whereas they are included in Lord of the Highlands. I don't think there is much difference.

I will be taking a cruise on the Amadeus Brilliant next month and will have some free time in Belgrade, Serbia. What attractions would you say are the not to be missed attractions in Belgrade? Is there a hop-on hop-off bus that you can take to see the sights from a bus? Many thanks.

I was on a cruise on the Amadeus Provence last month. We were unable to cruise the Saone due to high water levels. This meant that the ship could not sail under some of the bridges on the Saone. There was a shuttle bus service to Macon and tours were available to book for Beaune (which would have been from Chalon sur Saone) which involved a 150km drive on the motorway from Lyon. The Amadeus Provence remained in Lyon from Wednesday until Sunday when we were able to pick up the rest of the schedule along the Rhone down to Avignon and Arles.

Thanks Pontac - was thinking of going round Arles independently, visiting the Van Gogh attractions and the arena. Depending on the time the Carmague tour is, I will go round Arles.

Will be cruising on the Amadeus Provence at the beginning of May. Any thoughts on the must see attractions of Macon, Chalon sur Saone, Avignon and Chateauneuf du Rhone? Was thinking of going on to the Carmague from Arles. Thanks in advance for any help.

As I very much enjoyed my river cruise in April cruising the Danube between Passau and Budapest, I have taken the plunge and have booked the full Danube cruise on the Amadeus Brilliant which will go from Passau all the way to the Danube Delta and back to Passau. Does anyone have any feedback on must see attractions in Belgrade, Vidin, St Gheorge, Rouse, Svishtov, Novi Sad and Vukovar? Also is it worth going to see Bucharest and Constanta which is offered as an option from one of the Romanian ports?

I will be cruising onboard the Amadeus Silver iii on the 6th April from Passau to Budapest and back to Passau. We will be calling in at Emmerdorf, Durnstein, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislavia and Linz. Hopefully the water levels will allow safe navigation as my previous cruise on the Amadeus Silver iii on the Main had to be amended due to low water levels on the Rhine and the Danube.

Amadeus River Cruises do not have excursions included within the fare. They are offered as an optional extra.
