    Problems/comments:Wonderful cabin. Spacious balcony.

  2. Further to what others have posted, you cannot purchase the package if there are less than 3 days of your cruise remaining.

On our recent Infinity cruise whilst we were sitting at the pool bar on the last day of the cruise, a passenger enquired about purchasing the premium package for the 1 remaining day of the cruise. The bartender had to call his supervisor to ask if this could be done and the passenger was advised that if he wanted to go ahead he would be charged for 3 days even though there was only 1 day of the cruise remaining as this was the minimum allowed.

The passenger opted to continue paying for his drinks individually.

  3. We had Sue as our CD on a recent cruise and could not have been less impressed. Her ego was massive, and her 'show' was like something you'd see on Saturday Night Live. It's nice that there is something for everyone on Celebrity, and we'll happily leave Sue for others.

I have never had a sailing with her as cruise director, but did see a video on YouTube with her singing with Perry Grant and thought that she looked hysterically funny.

  4. Hi Simon and Steve,

We're both from Hawaii, although Charlie is living in France right now.

I would imagine there will be some others on the cruise. I'm sure Celebrity will have a daily LGBT gathering although they are not listed in the printed daily program. The last few times we've sailed with them, there was only a notice on a bulletin board near the purser's desk.

Do you have a lot of shore excursions planned or booked already?

    cheers

    Lowell

The only shore excursion we have booked so far is the panoramic duo combo in Geiranger. There are a number of others from our sailing booked onto the same excursion so it should be fun.

In Flam we are probably going to try to get tickets on the day for the railway and in Bergen we want to take the Funicular railway.

At the other ports we think we will just do our own thing and maybe use the HOHO buses, but we would also like to remain onboard the ship for at least one day for a quiet relaxing day-maybe the day we are in Olden.

    Hello,

You may find this link useful for alternative excursions. For those guys from the UK, this company is used by Planet Cruise (Amazing Cruise Holiday Show - Freeview Ch 22).

    http://www.cruisingexcursions.com/

There is a good excursion that allows you to look down into Geiranger Fjord, but the best view of all is from the deck sailing in in the morning or out in the afternoon. The Seven Sisters waterfall is on the Port side sailing in and the Suitor on the Starboard. You can also sail the fjord in a viking boat dressed in viking costume if you like that sort of thing.

I think the presence (or not) of FOD/LBGT meetings' listings in the main body of Celebrity Today is at the whim of the cruise director though it is usually mentioned under the 'Directory' heading on the inside front cover.

    Regards,

    Cublet

Thanks for the link Cublet. I haven't had chance to look properly yet but will do and see if there is anything which we might be interested in.

Are you also on our sailing?

    Simon.

  5. Anyone else on this cruise? There are four of us going. Two of us are also doing the next b2b cruise.

    Lowell and Charlie

    Hi Lowell and Charlie,

Simon and Steve here from Manchester England.

We are also on this 10 night sailing and was wondering if there would be any others. Hopefully there will be a LGBT meeting scheduled and there will be others onboard.

    Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Hi

We are going on Celkebrity,Infiniti,Aug 16 also. I was told that if we get a group of 10 people we can take the Flam railroad for $60.00

    Bob and Judy

    Hi Bob and Judy.

One of the other posters on the General roll call (waggie) has already looked into this for us and unfortunately the only group tickets left available are unsuitable as the return train arrives back too late.

They do release more tickets on the day but this involves waiting in line at the ticket office and hoping there are still tickets left when you reach the front of the line.

The only alternative is to book the excursion through Celebrity at $109 each:eek:

    Simon

  6. There were passengers on here who said that staff were confused due to the taxes being included in the drinks prices onboard in Europe/ex UK cruise recently. I will see if I can find the comments.

Ok I get it, the confusion seems to be when the 15% gratuity has already been included in the menu price in which case the limit on the classic package is $9.20 per drink.

I also hope that they have resolved this now.

  7. Any update on whether staff are more used to package in European waters now? I believe teething problems were reported.

What teething problems have you read about Flo71?

We had the premium package on our Connie Mediterranean sailing back in 2010 and again on the Silhouette inaugural (Europe) sailing in 2011 so the packages have been around or quite some time now.

On both these cruises we had no problems using the package and had good service from the bars. The only complaint was slow service in the MDR but this seemed to be due to too few sommeliers trying to service too many tables.

We got into the habit of getting a glass of wine from one of the bars on our way into the MDR so we were not without a drink until he sommelier got around to us.

  8. Hi:) I scrolled back through this entire thread and there are some

photos.....can't recall which post# they were on.....did you scroll

back? It seems they are really good window cabins though. I am

sailing on Summit in August and have 3142:)

    Hi Lois.

I did see the pics but thought that they were just small pics of the window & closet. I didn't notice the link to the pics which we have now just seen.

Thanks for the pointing this out.

  9. Just wondering if anyone has any recent or better pictures of these "new" staterooms.

We booked an Oceanview Guarantee stateroom for our August cruise on Infinity and we were very happy with our assigned Cat 6 stateroom (3011).

However, we noticed this morning that 3112 had become available and our TA has just managed to get this stateroom for us.

I have seen the pics on Celebrity's facebook page but would love to see better or more recent pics and any comments regarding these rooms and specifically 3112.

  10. Hi Arno,

Just as an add on to your comment, Perry confirmed that he's thrilled to be continuning on with Celebrity, and his new contract begins sometime in September 2013 (I will try to find the exact date - I think it's 9/22/13) - through the March 8th 2014 Eclipse sailing, which ends on 3/22/14.

Are contracts usually only renewed 6 months at a time?

  11. I think we will cancel our two booked cruises with Celebrity. We are really disappointed with them how they treat the international guests w.r.t the beverage package promotion. Being on a ship knowing that mostly all others enjoy their drinks in the frame of this promotion and being part of a minority who paid 1600$ for the drink package on a 18 days cruise does not make fun. We will not feel comfortable and welcomed and will always be reminded when being on board!

    I'm feeling exactly the same.

We are booked on Summit for a B2B in a couple of months and looking at our roll call it appears that we will be amongst the few in our group who will be charged for our drinks, whilst everyone else will be enjoying their cocktails with compliments of Celebrity.

This treatment certainly does NOT make me feel like a valued guest and I think Celebrity will realise that offering preferential treatment to some of their loyal customers whilst denying it to others is not good business.

Royal Princess is now looking like a strong possibility for our next cruise.

  12. Deck - Sky

    Cabin # - 1040

    Class – Concierge

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

    Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Quiet except we could hear the guest snoring in the next stateroom:eek:

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No issues

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

    Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? No

Any other comments? As reported by a previous poster, stateroom attendant Jose was fantastic.
