Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Emailed Emerald about a week ago asking for availability and pricing on a particular cruise. Received an automated email saying "Due to heavy volume it may take up to 14 days to reply". Then sent another email asking for a telephone call. Not even read. I need to deal with a company who really wants my business ($$$)
  2. Pls provide link or other means to access what you've been advised. Having trouble accepting it
  3. Where did you get this info?
  4. Below is the Silver Wind's specific smoking rules. It shows up on the Daily Chronicle every few days. Although a bit confusing the last sentence is quite clear where cigar smoking is allowed. And what Ryan82 posted from SS website says only on open Deck 9 on Silver Wind. on open Deck 9 aboard Silver Cloud and Silver Wind He is in fact breaking the cigar rule, the ship's Hotel Director agrees that he is but will not take any action to stop it. She says he's been reprimanded numerous times but refuses to stop. I say "bullsh%t". I've not seen one officer talk to him. Neither will they change the wording to make it less confusing. A very unprofessional bunch I'd say.
  5. Ship's management is entirely the problem. They could have corrected the problem three weeks ago when it started but chose to do nothing. They may have gained one repeat customer but lost many others.
  6. Obviously cigars are not offensive. People who smoke them where they are not allowed to are offensive and rude. Cigar man outside Panaorama Lounge again tonight. No one says a thing.
  7. Today we will cancel our Wind cruise for next May. We can't take a chance that these issues will not be fixed by then.
  8. I never claimed to be a connoisseur...just the opposite actually. The smell of sewage and cigar smoke are both noxious and offensive. At least sewage smell does not threaten your health as second hand cigar smoke does.
  9. Read the last line. It
  10. The reality is no one, from the captain on down, will confront the cigar smoker. I have watched every officer walk by as he smokes and I have not seen one person say a word to him. Maybe he's a major share holder. The smoking rules are quite clear about where you can smoke cigars so this should be a non-issue. The problem is no one gives a ship! (spelling intentional). We saw the same indifference on the Silver Spirit the past spring. This is probably our last Silversea cruise.
  11. Presently on Silver Wind. The entire ship smells of sewage from time to time and cigar smoking is now allowed at the pool deck and outside the Panorama Lounge. If you enjoy these odors book a cruise now.

    Indian Visa

Similar recent story with Regent Seven Seas. We're Canadians. Found out too late we couldn't get eVisas. Were advised without them we would be refused boarding (Dubai). Asked about a refund. They changed the rules and said we could board but not disembark in any of the three Indian ports. Not a good solution. It took me 5 tries but I finally reached someone high up in the food chain that agreed to convert our 100% payment to a Future Cruise Credit. I would try that with Silversea too. Good luck.
  13. I have a situation I think could be resolved if I could speak to someone a bit higher up the food chain. All I can do now is call the main # and discuss my issue with a TA who then asks her supervisor who then gives me an answer that I don't want. I feel if I could reach someone with a bit more ability to make a small change I could achieve what I want to achieve. Thanks.
  14. Has anyone been able to cruise with Silversea without a passport? For example - it was stolen / lost just before the cruise.
