The ships that had issues have been most recently addressed, and those are the lasy ones I would have concern over
-
Carnival has a much better comedy venue, but the theater shows are not very good. RC entertainment is excellent, especially the ice shows. You might have a hard time matching it
-
And you're just as likely to get it at work
I sailed on a ship that was "sick" on the prior sailing. Buffet lines were served for 3 days into the cruise.

I have done this, but I don;t think it's worth the money you save. You might end up in a very noisy cabin, or near the garbage disposal (like happened to me). Afterall, they are looking to sell those cabins in a location that haven't sold themselves. Not to say that you might end up with a perfectly fine cabin at a great rate, but for me, it's my vacation and I would prefer to know in advance that I am going to be comfortable with my cabin

I have never had an issue with Carnival casino program. Drinks are free. That means you tip the servers. They come back every 15 minutes if you take care of them they take care of you. I like the program better than NCL. Taxes and port fees on NCL for 2 was $650. Carnival $250.00 the ships are going to the same ports. carnival is a better value and the food is better too!

Thanks for sharing! So many others have posted about how superior NCL casino program is. I have been so satisfied with Carnival, that it's hard to breakaway (pun intended lol) and try another line. Kept thinking I was missing out on something, though

With yet another foot+ of snow in upstate NY yesterday, I am in agreement

We leave on the 19th, so thanks for the update I see on your cruise couuntdown clock :) I'll just use yours and add a day...so much easier that way :D

IMO, Bahamas are not that great. Bermuda would be a more memorable honeymoon, and on a great ship.

For me, $720 OBC doesn;t go far after gratuities.
Then, you can charge casino chips or slot cash in the casino, and walk away with your cash.
-
True - but depending on your level of play, there is usually a zero offer out there.

We just got off the Breeze with our first ever Casino Premier offer. Not sure it was that great. 1st night meet & greet with "free" drinks and appetizers. Very slow coming around with drinks- got one each. small bits of food - just so so. Drinks on us in casino is only good when you are physically at a slot or table. Took about 1/2 hour for a drink. You can loose alot of money in 1/2 hour waiting for that "free" drink. In stateroom gifts: upon arrival- 2 plastic tumblers(nice) . One bottle of cheap wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a dozen cookies ( they were the Best!). Last night 2 beach towels (nice) They did upgrade our departure times from zone 15 to 5 but it did not matter to us. Might to some. We were arriving late day of arrival so early on board did not matter to us either. Did not win any drawings. about 2 each day. I guess you can weigh the pros and cons yourself. But I would rather have a cheaper cruise than the "free perks". and yes we did receive a bounce back for a free interior on select sailings on departure day in our mail box.
We had a similar experience on B2B on the Breeze in December. But we had a couple of AWESOME experiences on Splendor last year, so we are sailing her again in April. Seems there is no standard across the brand - it's hit and miss by ship. Splendor has the best casino staff we have ever encountered - Go Sam!!!

That is True. RCCL has the best Shows.
I generally agree (and love the ice shows). But Carnival has a better venue for comedy, IMO

What port are we referring to? That would be helpful to determine if 11:45 is even doable. If we are talking Ft Lauderdale, it is doable if you are in the first couple of groups.
The procedure would be you carry your bags off to get the earliest possible departure from the ship.
EEEEKkkkk - I am doing an 11:45 FLL flight from a Miami cruise in April :)
-
Our problem with doing this is our phone time is automatic and it never matches ship time. We ended up using wake-up calls from the ship.
We do too. So easy to set. And (luckily), we have never had a problem.

OH...and not Cribbean, but love Bermuda
-
Fav: Half Moon Key (Bahamas), Bonaire (love to dive!), Tortola (and Grand Turk is growing on me!)
Least: Labadee, Jamaica, Puerto Rico (not much time to get beyond Old San Juan)
-
We found Johns limo to be the cheapest fares when we land in FLL
-
We just did the 8 and 6 B2B. Love the ship - didn;t love the people on the 6 day

Yeah, I think this is all a bunch of carp! We are all suckers for a good pun, no matter how hoki they may be!
We should dolphinitely scale back on the fish puns :D

So true - a selfless, kind act. Not enough of that in the world
-
hahahahaha - I have witnessed it, but never cut it that close :D

Barbados the Jolly Roger pirate ship tour was a fun time. Snorkel with sea turtles. Rope swing. Walk the plank.
St Maarten they say Maho Beach is a must see, but it doesn;t interest me so I have never been. Or famous nude Orient Beach. In December we toured in "scoot coupes" and we had a blast and will definitely do that again! Or, the beach right near the ship has plenty of jet ski rentals.
St Thomas has plenty.
Have fun planning - you will find LOTS of advice on the port threads.

That's the way! Plan on enjoying it - you'll have an awesome time, and your friend should be very appreciative. You can feel good about yourself:)
How Do I Upgrade?
in Cabin Selection Tips
Posted
MOst cruise lines have tiered memebrships and will offer any upgrades available to their most frequesnt customers. Even as Diamond on RC, I don't get, nor do I expect, upgrades. They will go to Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members
