  1. 2.30 isn’t that late really. Fitness classes will get booked up first and possibly the Grog Walk, you might be okay though but shows will be fine, they don’t fill up for hours/days.
  2. Several stations including pastries, fruit/yoghurt and bagels you can walk up to and ask for food. So it’s possible to be sat and eating while waiting for the hot food to come out. Standard breakfast items are usually fairly quick in my experience, under ten minutes to come out, so if you do get a croissant or something by the time you’ve had it the eggs and bacon will be with you. Omelette may take longer they are cooked to order.
  3. The only small downside to brunch on the last morning is the view of a road bridge in the port of Miami isn’t quite as nice as the open ocean!
  4. and to add to that you can buy the one $300 to get the $50 bonus and share it between the people in the cabin and then once the $350 is used up the remaining bill is just charged on the last night to the credit card given. So even if you do decide to pre purchase it doesn’t need to be one each.
  5. Nothing can be booked prior to boarding except for dinner. Brunch and shows can be booked once onboard. Afternoon tea I don’t think can be booked. But it’s never seemed busy in Sip lounge so you almost certainly will get a table if you really want to do it. Personally I don’t see the point paying for it when there is already plenty of good food onboard, you can go to the Galley food court and they have a large counter of patisserie anyway.
  6. I agree, although my least favourite course on that menu is probably the chocolate dessert. whereas on menu B (corn, salmon, lamb, asparagus, beet, strawberry) I don’t think there was any standout course that was better than any of menu A.
  7. Take a look at the martini section of the casino bar menu here for a rough idea https://profcruise.com/virgin-voyages-bar-menus-and-drink-prices/ That shows $14 for Grey Goose and $16 for Belvedere for a standard martini. Lemon drop might be a few dollars more I guess? Don’t forget there is no tips on Virgin so price you see is price you pay. Simple drinks like vodka and Sprite are well priced as the soda is already included in the cruise. I was drinking Absolut and Sprite at $7, Tito’s was $9 and then others slightly more still. I drink Absolut at home anyway. I had an Espresso martini at Sip (not on the menu) for $10 and I assume that was just Absolut.
  8. I think with the Galley too they either need to actually create a proper pass with hot lamps for when orders are waiting to be bussed, or do away with it and get guests to collect their own food if it can’t be served immediately using pagers or similar. For the ramen, tacos, all-day breakfast (not omelettes) and salads they should all be able to be plated and handed to guests immediately which is what I think the original concept was. The hot sandwiches and omelettes need cooking to order generally so they might need pagers or something. But at the moment the waited service doesn’t seem to quite work and as many have said, stations such as salad are better to walk up to anyway for custom creations.
  9. Personally I really liked the drip coffee too so didn’t feel a need to pay for the espresso based coffees. I think the Grounds Club counters that serve espresso drinks open around 6am if you do prefer latte, cappuccino etc.
  10. Although as someone who had never done a cruise before I went with Virgin, I was only expecting the room to be serviced once a day, like a hotel. Unless I said I needed ice or water or something delivered. Same as at a hotel once a day was plenty of housekeeping for me.
  11. That was not our experience with the cabin attendant, they introduced themselves on the first day and regularly said hello. Cleaning was done every day and they were often nearby in the corridor so I approached to ask if needed. The Galley however we have had several experiences like yours of having to stand up and flag down staff to order and then waits for certain food items. They really need to consider if it would just be better with guests fetching their own meals rather than it having to wait for someone to bus it to your table.
  12. I would estimate 60-70% were in some form of PJs for the pajama party, but not everyone and you are free to wear whatever you like. On Scarlet Night it was probably closer to 90% who had at least a splash of red in their outfit. But again there is no need to. I saw someone in a full tuxedo and black tie!
  13. There is a very large library of on-demand movies, but “live” channels were limited.
  14. they have a partnership with Moet, I expect they get a very very good price in order to give it away each afternoon.
  15. I assume you mean the healthy happy hour where you can get one alcohol-free drink? That’s listed as til March https://www.virginvoyages.com/cruise-deals/well-being-season Otherwise they have free sparkling wine at the sailaway on the first night around 6pm. Only rockstar suite guests get daily free Moet hour.
  16. I didn’t care for the Moet either. Personally I found the slighter sweeter cheap sparkling rose served at the main sail away more to my tastes. For champagne I don’t think I’ve got expensive tastes or high standards, I just don’t like Moet so much!
  17. Yes you can. We did it last trip and it came out of the bar tab just fine. you cannot use bar tab for the events like Grog Walk, Shot for Shot etc. But the drinks with dinner are fine. I think the bottomless brunch drinks at The Wake and Razzle Dazzle come from bar tab too.
  18. Not certain on Tito’s but on our last trip there was a group drinking Absolut by the bottle at the pool.
  19. it’s listed on the deals page and links to https://www.virginvoyages.com/cruise-deals/florida-resident-rate-offer
  20. nope. Need to either use a travel agent who can book specific cabins with their contacts or book on the website then call up to get reassigned if you don’t like the cabin you’ve got.
  21. On both ships last year we were offered Butter Chicken and a steak as the secret menu items.
  22. As cantgetin has said it was good. They had three extra entertainers (comedy/magic) as well as the usual shows, there was a sewing project and a lecture from a former Virgin Galactic executive. As expected on a TA the general crowd was older, so the dance party events in the Manor often started at 10pm instead of 11pm and the club wasn’t open every night, so a few nights there wasn’t much going on late night and the same band got a little repetitive. But daytime was great with enough to do and they had daily specials in the Galley most lunchtimes including slow cooked carved beef and special burgers.
  23. the perks are only available until March 31st. So it’s not that you need another cruise to earn them, just to use them.
  24. As Jessetfan posted above it’s not that bad to rearrange things really. There often is available times. Or just go to the host stand and tell them you booked for one but it’s now for 2/4 and they will try to accommodate. We made friends so asked for two of us to be added to the reservation for four and they managed to find a table for the six of us.
  25. But it’s not a thousand small cuts when the product is not being cut-down, it is exactly as advertised.
