  1. it was only once on the October TA for Untitled that they didn’t check for the reservation and there was plenty of space anyway so I’m guessing they knew there was room so didn’t bother. For Around the World with the Diva I think actually I’ve always arrived late and watched from the back so that could be why, maybe they only check reservations at opening time?
  2. Around the world with the diva is a drag queen cabaret show with songs, jokes and skits. Seating is first come I think (may have changed since I last went, don’t think it’s bookable, the Manor doesn’t have tons of seats with a view of the stage so arrive early if you really want a seat or you might get standing space. UntitledDancePartyShowThing is a dance party show with a little audience participation. It’s bookable but they don’t always check reservations, there are no seats it’s standing, unless you go to the deck 7 balcony. It’s a fun show but the first 15 minutes isn’t as good as the rest of the show so stick with it!
  3. They don’t really close. Will drain in the early hours for cleaning, like 2-3am or something. But unless there is a water quality fault or rough seas the pools don’t close. We enjoyed some late night hot tub and it was empty except us.
  4. Loteria is a Mexican card game similar to bingo https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotería on the ship the activity is $35 and comes with drinks as above.
  5. The sailaway on the first night is around 6-7 at the main pool with free sparkling wine, but can be busy and loud. You might want to meet earlier somewhere quieter and then head to the sailaway for the free drinks at 6pm.
  6. That’s a great idea! Didn’t even think that of doing that, maybe we will book the October TA as well as the April 2024 😁
  7. Coming from the UK it’s the Miami to London one way flights that are expensive for us, with a return being half the cost of a one way flight. fortunately we’ve got a lot of air miles points banked with Virgin and a one way flight is half the points of a return so much more sensible than cash flights. whereas one way Barcelona to London can be done for €50.
  8. You can get it from the wallet part of the app and it gets emailed to you after disembarking too.
  9. I found the espresso martini in Sip was fine. But I don’t have the most sophisticated drink tastes, most of the time I was drinking Absolut and Sprite. I think bartenders in black shirts are more skilled than the general staff in striped t-shirts.
  10. If you are doing this months TA I wouldn’t expect anything different compared to what Valiant Lady has been doing for the last few months. we did the transatlantic last October and there was three additional guests acts on top of the normal entertainment. Also the diner counter and burger counter in the Galley had lunch specials most days. I think there will be more changes by 2024 and of course Brilliant Lady will be an entirely new ship.
  11. Resilient Lady for the Athens cruises has pretty much all-new entertainment so I think they’ve realised they need more variety. I’m expecting at least one all new menu on that ship as well. I would expect some changes to Scarlet Lady for 2024 to keep things fresh too but will see what happens. I’ve got our fifth VV cruise on Resilient in June and sixth on Scarlets transatlantic in 2024. They will have to keep adding brand new to make us was to book a seventh, but also the transatlantic trips are good value.
  12. There are six restaurants and you can’t book the same one twice unless on a seven night or longer cruise. so for a five night cruise you have to do a different one each night. Razzle Dazzle also does breakfast/brunch and the Wake offers brunch.
  13. I was in a regular terrace room and it was probably closer to the hour but as we weren’t in the room when it did arrive I can’t say for certain other than it was definitely quicker than two hours. But you are probably right that’s it’s 30-60 minutes.
  14. It’s usually been 1-2 hours I think. By the time we’ve had some late lunch and gone back to the room to watch the safety video it had often arrived.
  15. But what about when relaxing at a beach club?
  16. Mine seems okay at the moment, but I had issues last September and couldn’t book dining on the transatlantic in October as it thought I was still on Valiant Lady from March. The accounts seem to very easily get mixed up and it doesn’t seem to cope well with repeat cruisers. Seems to be the back end accounts more than the app that is the issue.
  17. Everyone’s tastes are different but I was happy with the options at the beach club, it felt similar to going to the Galley when on the ship for lunch There was a range of dishes at Bimini including a roast pork sandwich, a fish dish and the curry which was great. I’m not sure why finger food would be better though, but everyone’s preferences are different. I would have liked some snacks as well in case you wanted to eat again at 3/4pm and it would have been nice to have ice cream, but I was happy with lunch.
  18. Why is it weird to get Caribbean style curry on a Caribbean island?
  19. Menu A Mushroom Egg Scallops Venison / Beef Blue Cheese Chocolate Vegetarian menu Gazpacho Egg Asparagus Tart Mandarin Coconut from https://profcruise.com/virgin-voyages-restaurant-menus-2022/ menu B corn salmon beet lamb/shrimp asparagus strawberry From memory.
  20. For spirits many aren’t on the menus but if it helps house/well vodka is Absolut at $7 and Tito’s is $9. is there a particular drink you are looking for?
  21. there are plenty of good reviews on here as well as some where it is obvious that Virgin Voyages product isn’t for them, but that’s fine other cruise lines offer other styles of cruise. There are always vloggers getting things for free, that’s not unique to VV. For me, I’d never done a cruise before I went on VV summer 2021 and I’ve done three more since with two more booked. Six cruises with the same line in three years for me so they are doing things right for me. Great hotel style service, no constant announcements, no tips, great food and a fun inclusive atmosphere, without it feeling like they are trying to get even more money out of us.
  22. My first ever cruise was on Virgin for one of the UK staycation cruises August 2021 and I’ve done three more since. Can’t see me easily doing a different line, no kids, no announcements, no tips, soft drinks included, nice modern looking cabins. I get some people love the cruise director making announcements on other lines but I’m quite able of working out what I want to do myself.
  23. It’s not the first time VV have sought investment, I think the line is doing well and they see it as a good time to get investors following the news of winning all the cruise critic awards.
  24. Not sure about calling but FaceTime worked well.
  25. Cruise ships by default don’t go quickly unless they really have to. They always take it easy.
