  1. That's the lido deck I haven't seen confirmation on the deck 9 location outside of the buffet if it costs there as well
  2. 14.99 plus 18% gratuity
  3. I took a VV in summer of 22. I am under 30 and surprisingly didn't really like it. Compared to princess I thought the service was not the best. Food in the restaurants was great definitely better than princess but I was sick of the "buffet" by the end since it was 95% the same menu everyday (also had to wait a lot for service). Vv private beach in bimini is light years ahead of princess cay. The "nightly show" on virgin was definitely more entertaining to me than what princess typically does but was shocking our cruise didn't have any comedians(seemed like a miss on an adult only line). However, the lack of different events throughout the day left me bored a lot. Casino was too packed and my sailing was only 60% full can only imagine what it would be like on a full ship. I like the basic balcony room on VV but the beds were not comfortable. I am definitely interested to see what their next gen of ship will look like if that ever happens. They will have some experience under their belts and make some good changes. Overall was a relatively neutral experience didn't love it but didn't hate it. We still stick with princess. We typically cruise when school is in session which gives us an almost kid free experience.
  4. About a month ago I bought plus for the 10 day eclipse cruise at the start of April for 2 which should have been 1200 but the price it showed and charged when checking out was 996
  5. Oh thanks for correcting my confusion. Once again the lack of clarity and published rules for all of their casino stuff strikes again
  6. Maybe for a suite it's only one. I'm sure your email offers will get you plenty of balcony and mini suites for free
  7. Remember the CBS offer is good for 3 cruises. The freeplay is only for the first but can get 3 free cruises.
  8. Offer also have to do with other players on the cruise. If a bunch of people have 50k+ points offers will be worse for everyone else. On the other hand if no one has that many everyone's offers will be a bit better. Personally I am able to make 500-1000$ last at the craps table all week. Get a cbs offer for typically 250 in free play but the email offers can get me cruise offers for dirt cheap interiors for less than the port fees and taxes. And plenty of offers that make cruise a few hundred cheaper than whatever the list price is.
  9. The WiFi was good enough to facetime all the way up at the Hubbard Glacier on the Discovery last April.(right after they turned on starlink) speed test numbers won't blow anyone but I haven't had trouble on the Discovery or emerald since starlink was launched. You may get some buffering every now and then.
  10. @labcoat99 how were they handling drinks while in port in NYC. Was it the drinks package as normal or were they charging tax or did the drink package not kick in until day 2? I have seen different things for different lines and haven't found an answer for princess.
  11. In early May on the Discovery. There were a few of us that played craps almost every night and when our dealer bets were hitting the boxman would wave down a waiter for a round of drinks for the table.
  12. I don't know if it is technically allowed but on a Baltic cruise in 2018 I was able to bring like 7 or 8 16oz bottles of my favorite Estonian soda back on board no questions asked
  13. It was on the MDR menu last week on the Discovery in Alaska
  14. Choose the itinerary you like the best and just make sure you are prepared for 150-300 a person for excursions with some being even more expensive if you want a sea plane or helicopter ride. Personally I would rank sitka and skagway as top ports to get to with Juneau behind them and Ketchikan last. I have never been to Anchorage/Whittier (that will be my next Alaska cruise.
  15. The speeds pretty much stayed between 2 and 2.5 Mbps even in Seattle this morning so it appears either princess is controlling the speed or their on board equipment is limited. But even at that I never had a struggle doing what I wanted to do on my phone. Every now and then a webpage took a few extra seconds to load or a video would stop briefly to buffer but this is definitely a huge improvement over the old system IMO and it was consistent all the way up to the Hubbard Glacier.
  16. 4 talks throughout the sailing on the current sailing
  17. The number don't look good but I feel like the connection is better than those numbers represent. People were able to facetime friends and family from Hubbard glacier. My wife and I are 27 and we have been able to do everything we typically do on our phones. It may take a few seconds for a webpage to load. But based on reading what people say on here I was expecting wifi to be unusable after the first 24 hours on board so this has been a nice surprise.
  18. I think at some point this trip they flipped on starlink because my original speed test was not a starlink connection. The connection has been adequate at worst. I was able to stream Ted Lasso after we left Hubbard glacier yesterday with 2 or 3 10 second buffering pauses. But I have had no issues browsing the internet at any point so far up here in Alaska. (Edit idk why the speed test screen shot is flipped. The other picture is what appears to be starlink dishes or the only thing I could find that looks like them above the sky suites)
  19. Does anyone know if they charge the VIG up front or on the win?
