My wife loves wine so we experienced this in autumn 2022 aboard the Silhouette. There's no reason to expect high-end wines here; just representative types.

But if you've never paired different types of wine with different types of food, I highly recommend this. Incredible how a bit of "something" can transform the taste of a wine you just sampled and didn't like into a totally different encounter -- and vice versa. Very enjoyable!

Do they just serve samples of food? How does this work? I may book it on my Ascent sailing

You certainly get a lot of information and I was able to ask for a second tasting on the World Wine Tour.

I remember one cruise they ran out of an Argentina cab before we tried it so sommelier brought out a bottle from a restaurant and 4 us shared it after the tour ended.

Can anyone comment on what the World Wine Tour entails?

Currently on sale for one day and I am wondering if it's worth it (we do not have a beverage pkg).

    Thank you.

Its 6 white 6 red from various countries. Most are from the basic package but it varies from ship and sailing. You get an hour to try all the wines and rate them.  I just signed up for my 13 night TA cruise as it was 29% off as opposed to 10% so I thought nothing to lose at that price.

Crazy high prices! I pay less than half at home and then send to my heath plan and get 80% back. They won't cover out of Canada services

They are not RMT's but some as good or even better. I just cancelled mine refund was $258 CAD for 75 minutes and that was with a 15% discount.

Tried that multiple times. They're under more pressure from their employer than the promise of a tip would offset. It didn't work... so I no longer choose to use their service. To each their own.

When I was on Princess last month I mentioned I had some knee arthritis. The girl immediately tried to sell me Elemis cooling gel saying it would help. 😆.  It was nice but I've seen it quite cheap at home. She did a great massage but I was surprised their training is only for a month so she said.

Like anything else purchased on the ship it is expensive, but oh, so worth it!  As far as the up-sale at the end, tell them there is a higher tip in it for them if they skip the up-sale!  Money talks!

After reading all these posts I decided to cancel my massage on the beyond next month. Yes its expensive and the only time available was 3 pm on embarkation day. Plus as stated I don't get to pick the massage therapist. I had a fantastic massage on a Princess cruise last month but had also previously taken advantage of the samplers they offered in fact had 3 of them and chose the 1 I thought was best. If they offer a promo on a sea day I may take advantage.  I think the money can be put to better use and I don't have tons of OBC.

We paid $7.00/ btl   at a high end local restaurant in Fl last night.. The bottles they serve are large so better if we can split it..Guess it's cheaper at Publix.

I know they have them in your cabin and I thought the price was around $9 plus gratuities. I will have room in my case so may bring 1 possibly 2 bottles with me. I can get them for a buck in Canada when they go on sale. Small bottles are bulky to pack

Question from another Perrier fan?  Last cruise on the Eclipse I didn’t bother asking for Perrier as I thought it wasn’t available.  What was your experience on the Summit trying to find it outside of your cabin?

When I had the beverage package it was also hard to get perrier always had san pellegrino available. This time I'm bringing my own small bottles onboard. I can't remember but 7.50 or 9.50 a bottle is outrageous and I believe gratuities are added to it.

Hopefully fleetwide. We didn't have canned water on our October2023 Eclipse cruise but we had it on  our March 2023 Apex cruise.

I was on Silhouette in November and they were in bottles. I had read they've done away with cans. Why they ever had canned water is beyond me.  Tasted awful.

Yes. We get 4 bottles/cans sometimes they ask for your room card. If you want more just pick them up at a different bar. We also collect Ginger Ale and Tonic (the Boss, Anita) uses the Tonic to help reduce muscle cramps - works well even when it’s gone flat).

I haven't seen the water in cans for awhile now. People complain they're hard to open and some have cut their finger on the metal lid.

So can you get free bottles water during 5-7pm if Elite? That would be good if you can!

Yes I always pick one up for the evening and keep one for excursion next day. The ships water is perfectly fine though so if you forget and have a water bottle just fill it.  Just don't put your bottle directly under the spigot, I transfer from a glass.

I was on The Millennium in March and visited the "What Goes Around" preloved boutique. The signage was very clear that this segment of the shops sold used merchandise. The LV bags looked quite new to me. The shop manager informed me that they were very lightly used, mostly for a single photo shoot or runway show. They had a beautiful Speedy model that I was very tempted to purchase but refrained, much to the relief of my husband. LOL! Here in Canada preloved designer bag pop-up shops happen quite often in our department stores. My two cents? The bags I saw on the ship were around the same price as what I could by used on land but in better condition. Of course, YMMV depending on the ship, inventory, etc. Happy cruising and shopping! 🙂

I was told some of those bags were never even used and purchased as collectors items then sold. I will be on the Beyond in March then on a transatlantic in April so will be checking them out.

If I sometimes lost a few cents at the casino but mostly won a few bucks, I’d be at the casino quite a bit paying for my cruise.

I cashed out $100 of my NR OBC and got $98 which went into my wallet then next day tried to play and got locked out was told I had to play at least $40 in cash which I did but then won $180.

LVMH is one company that does not screw around with fakes, there reputation is everything.

Of course they are the real deal. Imagine the flack the lines would receive if it was revealed they were selling fake designer bags. I was on the Apex last year and kept looking at a beautiful LV bag. The girl at the store tried everything in her power to get me to buy it but I wouldn't get the use just not an every day type of bag.

The used handbags  take up alot of space in a shop that used to be nice..now looks like a shabby  flea market.  We do not buy used (bad fengshui)

I just got off a Princess cruise and they had pre owned Chanel cotton tote bags selling for thousands of dollars.  They were actually quite ugly and yes, taking up precious real estate.

    Good evening,

I just purchased a pre owned Louis Vuitton on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur. Now that I am home and looking at it closer. It does not have a serial number which it should. Has anyone else purchased a pre used bag on a ship? Only to find out it wasn't real question mark?

I would be very surprised if the cruise lines sold them as authentic if they were not. Never actually purchased one but have looked at them closely although did not check for SN just markings on zippers, inconsistencies in stitching etc and they seemed fine to me but I wouldn't buy as still felt they were over priced. The lines are making a killing profit wise on these bags even at duty free prices.

I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing.  The World Wine Tour is often 6 tables OUTSIDE a venue, Cellar Masters, Ensemble Lounge with mediocre wines and very limited snacks.  It is not the wine and food pairing event which is a sit down event which was also mediocre.

Cellar Masters was technically inside AND outside in the hallway.  These were NOT top tier wines by any stretch of the imagination.

I still do the World Wine Tour because you can talk to the sommeliers briefly if they are not busy.  And you may sometimes find something you like that you want to drink on the ship later.

I've only attended at Cellar Masters on S class ships and yes its a walk about inside and out with a few snacks. It was quite well attended and lots of fun. Last year on the Apex it was held in Eden on the upper level as I mentioned I saw a handful of people who were all seated and didn't look like there was much room certainly not a walk about.  I was just hoping next month on the Beyond they might have a few decent wines. I can always check it out before I commit.

In general, it's minute quantities of the lowest quality of wine onboard with several waiters and sommeliers making bad jokes.

I did it a couple of times; not worth me leaving my pool lounger to attend.
