so this trip unfortunately didn’t happen because we both (finally) got COVID. Great timing! 🤣 This meant that obviously we couldn’t board and didn’t even go to the port. Instead, we received a future cruise credit, and we’re now heading on a 8-day Caribbean voyage departing Fort Lauderdale on 3 January. Same ship too - Regal Princess! Let’s hope this time we make it!

Boarding Regal Princess later this month in Rome. Princess’ website advises that a PCR or antigen is acceptable. Am I correct in assuming that the antigen is administered upon embarkation at the port? And that it is accordingly unnecessary to get a PCR beforehand? Also, does anyone know what would happen if you tested positive at the port? I assume they would deny you boarding, but I wonder if there is a mandated shoreside quarantine under Italian law?
