  1. Yes. Exactly. It does seem like entertainment was (previously) NCLs competitive advantage. I posted a question for Ask the CEO questioning if NCL knows where they want to position the brand and what are we likely to see (and when). Then again, the brand might be lost until the NCLH executive team balances revenue generation with guest experience. I’m not bailing yet…but 2024 is wide open for other cruise lines and land-based adventures.
  2. Surprising in what way? Enough to entertain yourself…or what’s up with this? For us…it was a bunch of fluff. The Elton John Tribute were two lounge entertainers who were average, as were the other bar performers. The comedians were just ok. Burn the Floor is pretty much the same anytime you see it. The Diva Tribute was one of the Howl at the Moon performers. No Beatles (but I think they’re back now). No Broadway type show. But we still had a great cruise…the casino got a little more of our attention…and we got more sleep…lol.
  3. Awwh, thank you. You know the ship will be packed…but if you follow some of my tips, it will help you navigate the crowd. Wishing you and your family an amazing vacation.
  4. We were on 2/5 sailing. We left our hotel in Condado Beach at 9:35 by taxi we’re at the pier right before 10. Taxi driver knew where to drop us off and pointed out the luggage porters. Cost $30 plus tip. We went directly through security into the warehouse and got a seat. We were about 1/3 away from the front. By 10:20, the warehouse was full and all other arrivals were held outside of security and outdoors until boarding, which was at 11:20. They didn’t call for any Latitude status…if you were inside the warehouse, you boarded based on where you were seated. They also didn’t check docs for checkin time…which we did have the earliest at 11 am. We were onboard by 11:30 and were about 3rd in line at GS to request Posh passes. RE: Haven entrance, I believe it is to the right of the main entrance. There was a double door entrance under a canopy flanked by employees. Happy cruising 🛳️
  5. Only you can decide if price difference between club and regular balcony is good for you. IMO, the extra room in the sink area would be nice on a TA. Also, if you like to use room service breakfast, I would suggest picking a cabin with the bed near the balcony.
  6. In Aruba we took public bus to Eagle Beach. $5 pp round trip. Easy. Off ship walk to the Main Street then right. At the blue building in the left…go thru passway to the bus terminal. You will see the ticket booth. Curacao—we did NCL Taste of Curacao. Not recommended…kinda hokey. Bonaire we rented a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers. $100 plus $100 security. no Amex but other cards, they have a tent along the row of tents when you get off the boat. If you can’t get an advanced reservation go there and get kn the standby list. They release reservations at 9 am. The road before the airport was a little hectic…but then it opens up to mostly tourist traffic. Fun. st Lucia…we did an NCL catamaran cruise. Much fun. St Kitts…BEST BEST BEST place to get souvienrs for a good price. We only walked the ship to the shopping area…and got the rest of souvenirs we needed…at a great price. Go to the far end for best prices. have fun!!,
  7. We recently sailed Epic. Cabin 12017. Large balcony, forward, starboard side. Easy access to pool and garden cafe. We generally walked down from 15 to 12…and sometimes up. We were about 16 rooms from the stairs/elevator.
  8. Lol…great catch. Made me chuckle, too😂 Original said “no adults” …haha…May have been true with the drink plans. Should have said no kids🤣
  9. We sailed BReakaway in mid October’22…7 day NE/Canada. 83% occup, no adults. Mostly indoor. No problem with crowds. A TA should be fine. We liked the Breakaway a lot.
  10. FWIW…We were in MA13194…regular club balcony…not connecting…not family…no bathtub.
  11. And, unfortunately that “boat” isn’t the NCL Pearl-Spirit-Sun to Alaska. Well, I’m in your “boat”, too. I wonder where we’re going?
  12. I, too, have not received the email or offer. We sailed Alaska May 2022…and I’ve recently been looking at Alaska cruises late summer ‘23. So they probably think I’m already hooked. But…def not now knowing that many are getting sweet deals and I’m not.
  13. This thread is interesting and I wonder if there is any correlation back to the extra 50% off Alaska Pearl, Spirit Sun offer that some of the CC members have cited receiving this past week.
  14. I vote for thermos-type vessel filled by water glass at the buffet. If you ever worked in the hotel industry you would NEVER EVER use a coffeemaker that was in your cabin or hotel room. Just saying. It’s right up there with the TV remote. We sanitize our TV remote before using, and rewash any glassware in the cabin before using. I’m sure others will disagree…and that’s ok with me.
  15. Watch out…soon you may have to pay a nickel to give your 2 cents😂
  16. I think this cruise could be named SBOS…spring break on steroids. I’m sure there are other clever meanings for SBOS…🤣 To OP…sorry to make funny around your dilemma. I pray you find the right direction.
  17. I may be mistaken but I believe I read where it stood for southern Caribbean, thus the steel drums, maracas, island music vibe.
  18. Perhaps. Only time (and reviews) will tell. I feel badly for the OP who has to make a decision on unknown information. It’s a 50/50 chance that this will be the Family Cruise they envisioned (based on how NCL advertises the Family Cruise). I hope whatever decision they make turns out to be a wonderful experience.
  19. See if you can find the dailies for the ships you are considering. On the Epic a few weeks ago they had a 18-21 self led get-together every night starting at 9 pm in The Bliss Lounge.
  20. I was a little confused at first, too. But I believe the difference is the first several cruises (Ubersoca) have been and are on fully chartered ships. This appears to be a rouge (private) group—not chartered. Unless this CC post has raised NCL awareness of which they may now be acknowledging it based on post #92.
  21. 100+ reviews is a statistically valid sample size for opinion-based surveys. Agree, under normal circumstances, Prima would likely be a better ship with more for a kid to do. Just not this sailing.
