  1. presumably that was before the rule changed to over 12, it used to be 17, the same dress code as adults. I am referring to formal nights here. Some 13 to 14 year olds can look 18 and especially 16 and 17 year olds will probably look older.
  2. Are dress codes the same for children? For those travelling on family-friendly ships, dress codes also don’t apply to children aged 12 and under. However, they can still dress to impress if they want to! https://www.pocruises.com/what-to-wear It used to be 17 and under didn’t it.
  3. On Iona and Arvia you can also get freshly made omelettes in The Quays. We never had breakfast in there as they don’t do porridge but others said it was good.
  4. Well you do on all the Princess ships that we have been on, that is if you want to go to the speciality restaurants. Just the same as on P & O. In all our years of cruising we have only paid for a speciality restaurant twice. Editing to mention omelettes. The ones in the MDR are great, they are not on the menu anymore for some reason but just ask for them. At least on Ventura, Iona and Arvia since Covid you can just ask. The ones in the buffet perhaps not so good, I never tried, didn’t look very appealing.
  5. Like others I think there is more to this than meets the eye. Unfortunately unless P & O come out and explain, which I doubt, we will never know as the ladies won’t say otherwise they would have in the first place.
  6. Oh I didn’t know they were doing these again. I also would love to do one or even two on the next two cruises we have booked ( different ships) @SarahHben btw I call it Cruise Personaliser as well as that as I understand it is what it is called but calling it account is just as good
  7. We haven’t yet booked for 2025 yet but I guess will have to now, but does anyone know if we have to cancel the parking say because we might have to use the coach instead whether there is a cancellation charge?
  8. It’s a pity it doesn’t show all the available cabins for example inside instead of just showing their recommended one as you then have to go to an online deck plan and randomly put in room numbers to see which ones are still available
  9. Yes but is that on Arcadia or Aurora as they are always more expensive. Deals on the other ships come up quite often.
  10. I’m not sure as the whole pineapple thing is not something someone made up on facecloth as a joke, others ran with it and now people actually believe it. Has anyone actually seen one on a door?
  11. I wouldn’t go looking for them as that’s a kids thing really but we did find one once on a Princess ship amongst the books in the library. We just hid it again on a different shelf. I don’t see the point of taking them home that just means people will buy more and hide then rather than them being recycled. It’s all getting a bit Americanised on P & O now with this duck think, like a lot of other things in the UK. Although I agree I’m sure on a big family ship it gives the kids something to look out for.
  12. From memory, yes we had to go on the web to print luggage labels ( I think) but we did the medallion stuff and the embarkation on the app. You do have to check on the web for any OBC you have. With P & O of course the only way of finding that out is on your invoice. I am thinking more checking if your share benefit has been added, with P & O you have to phone your TA and ask them and then they send an updated invoice , with Princess you can see online.
  13. on Arvia I asked for the lunch and dinner menu when I came out of breakfast , they were obviously used to this as they had some ready at the ‘ book in’ bit as you come in( or out)
  14. Further to my previous answer above the one thing I found very annoying with the myholiday was people booking the entertainment and not going and not cancelling it. If you’re not going to go then cancel your booking so someone else can book. I understand now though on the smaller ships they are not having booking for the theatre anymore. Pity they don’t do that on Iona and Arvia, first to get there gets the seats, easy, peasey. The other thing is, it would be handy if you could go to myholiday and see the day’s entertainment and not just those that you have to book for. Princess do it , why can’t P & O
  15. We are in our mid to late 70s and find the app really good and enjoyed both Iona and Arvia. Yes people not adhering to the dress code is most annoying though.
  16. Well exactly I certainly never do. Do they still do them as you board?
  17. They don’t come round the tables at dinner any more, we always just used to say no thanks. They are still around the ship especially on formal night and I think we saw a few as you get off the ship in ports but not that many and they weren’t hassling people. What I haven’t seen, unless I’ve forgotten, is photos being taken as you board the ship for the first time.
  18. That was disappointing wasn’t it and I thought they said it was going to be rescheduled later in the cruise. But in replacement we did get a ‘Get to know the cast of the Dome production shows’ which I really enjoyed.
  19. I have been trying to find the same out. No pre booking to me means before the cruise but do we have to go onto myholiday and book for the MDR specifically for the evening meal before we go. Also does the Freedom dining open at 6 or 5.30 as on the two big ships.
  20. I did try to edit my post but it went wrong. Thanks got it now
  21. Which ship does it differ on. On Arvia we prebooked dining 2 weeks ( as we eat early) before and some theatre shows and the rest as soon as we boarded. On Iona we prebooked some theatre shows before and the rest as soon as we boarded. We booked the dining as soon as we boarded, again were able to do this as we eat early. Dave - what phrase are we searching for please on the FAQs as nothing is coming up for me
  22. Are you still having to book for the theatre or can you just walk in? What is the likelihood of getting into the MDR when they open for the evening, which I assume is 6 o’clock. ( it was 5.30 on Iona and Arvia which is great for us and 5 o’clock on Princess , even better)
  23. We will be Caribbean on our next cruise and tbh I don’t mind if it is 12 or 1 o’clock as long as we don’t get a 3.30 or 4 o’clock. Anyone know if we do get a late boarding whether we can get on earlier because we are Caribbean? Obviously it didn’t work for poster a bit above though. Editing that pdf is still showing on their website is there suppose to be a newer one then?
  24. This just shows why you have to leave early. So all those people complaining about passengers arriving at the port early and the people coming back at them saying it’s in case of traffic problems, perhaps they should read this and understand why people leave early just in case. Us getting up a few hours earlier and setting off early and then possibly having to wait in a queue is preferable to missing the ship if things unfortunately do go wrong.
