Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Completed 4, (2 on SL, 2 on VL) 3 more booked, 4 MNVV to figure out when I can escape work. 2 of the 3 coming are on BL. Fingers crossed those do work out. Want to book for RL but then, you know, the working thing and the airfare these days...solos get no help with that and single supplement now not quite as nice as when originally booked. Agree with all above. Surprised though no one yet mentioning my absolute favorite things about VV, no kids, no kids and no kids.
  2. Was getting off VL on the 22nd and we were required to leave earlier than typical. The reason given was to allow the crew time for transatlantic cruise prep. Interesting to hear the crew was not even on the ship to do this special work. Seemed weird special prep needed but what would I know about that. We were notified prior to our cruise all the shops would be closed for the entirity. Only essential store and VV logo stores open. Also seemed weird to eliminate an opportunity to sell things. Does anyone know if this had anything to do with the filming too? Sorry your boarding was a mess. Week prior our boarding was ok once you got to the terminal. Traffic getting to the terminal though was the worst have experienced over 2 hours from airport to terminal. Hoping you didn't have that on top.
  3. In a prior cruise with a fuller ship RD was open that night. New RD waiter friend said they needed to be open due to the increase in pax count to make sure everyone could get into a restaurant, more options.
  4. Many times I was asked my cabin number rather than present the band for scanning on both Scarlet and Valient. As a solo female sailor would prefer not announcing my cabin number in public. Although I do not wear the band on my wrist I always have it handy when at a place this info is needed. Gotta love whomever invented pockets. Tried holding out the band instead of answering, didn't help. Some places have devices to read the bands some use laptops that either can't read them or is difficult to do so.
  5. There is also an afternoon tea service in Sips on sea days, 1-4, no reservation needed. A choice of 1 of the premium teas is included. But there is an upcharge for the afternoon tea. $19 without bubbles and I think $39 with bubbles. Nice selection of savory and sweet nibbles too. The gally tea is tea bags, the premium teas are loose leaf. Sorry, I did not capture the list of premium teas. I think it was a varied list of black, green and herbal. Lesson learned last time on VL, they don't always list the afternoon tea in the daily activities. But it was still available on sea days.
  6. Very exciting to see this news. We are also on the April24 TA to Lisbon as well as the one right before. With @cantgetin caution am even more glad not to end in San Juan. I guess if ever willing to spend the 3 hrs in customs line must remember not to book a flight too early in the day or stay extra days at the end not the beginning. Not knowing much about the beginning days of cruise ships, what goes on over the next year before first official passengers board?
  7. Thanks to all for the great info. I should have specified it is Miami. I'm also booked with the lock it in rates for both. Wanted to have an idea of how they do things. Can roll with however it ends up. Looking forward to the brief lull between debarkation and embarkation crowds. But really looking forward to all the great food everyone talks about.
  8. For those that have done B2B with Virgin, would you provide some details of the experience? How is luggage handled if have to switch cabins? Do you have to disembark at all?
