Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This is from speaking with people that had COVID on board and the notices the cruise line sent around at the start of the cruise, not my own experience, just to clarify šŸ˜Š
  2. Hi, we were told we would only isolate for five days, and then if we were still positive we would test each day until we were negative and then be released from iso. Weā€™d also get the money refunded for each day we were isolated, and had menus from the dining rooms brought to us to order each day, on top of room service and delivery. It wouldnā€™t be a great situation, but the cruise line (Princess) tried to make it the best they could I guess šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
  3. Iā€™ve done two cruises since last July-one was a 7 day and one a 14 day. On both, I was really conscious of mask wearing and tried my best to be in open areas. I did end up getting COVID at the end of the 14 day cruise, tested positive the afternoon I got off, but thankfully was quite a mild hit, only had to miss a few days of work. it really is just a matter of precautions, a lot of people were taking masks off as soon as they sat down in bars and shows, so I tried to be as far away as possible, but sometimes it just couldnā€™t happen. I did also have a room across from me (interior cabin) in isolation as well and noticed there was a few cabins with tables in front of doors, which means they are isolating.
  4. I did this for my cruise on coral princess that I boarded on the 2nd. Only difference is you need to have the photo Iā€™d, so name and picture match. They say on the app to use your passport. If you have multiple travellers, they also said to write the name on each rat test. They didnā€™t check any at the port, just asked to attest that you had done it and could verify that it had been uploaded. Same with my important documents, like vac certificate, they could see it uploaded but she was appreciative I had a copy as well šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
  5. I just did Antarctic centre on current coral princess cruise. Took shuttle in (35), walked to transit centre, bought ticket from bus driver (2.10 each way-driver only accepts cash so make sure you have some nz currency, otherwise you need to withdraw from atm) then got off just before airport and walked over the the Antarctic Centre-just after you see the sign for it you get to the stop, so be ready. I bought ticket there but you can buy online and do penguin behind the scenes or different activities. It was a great 3-4 hours, really fascinating and the crew are absolutely lovely to hat with to get more information. 100% recommend, especially the hagglund ride and the storm room, and was a lot cheaper than going through the cruises shore excursion. It took about 30 mins to get out there from Christchurch. If you wanted to save more, you can catch a local bus from the port for 2.10 and use it to transfer to the airport bus, I found out from experienced cruisers afterwards, but the shuttle was pretty convenient for me.
  6. Thatā€™s an early notification, there must be a few cases on board šŸ˜©
  7. I canā€™t see the full article (have to be a subscriber) but this might give some clues?
