  1. No….I have never heard of that.
  2. My wife and I are booked for the Seascape on 9/24. Mother in Law booked a single with no problem.
  3. I understand what you are saying. I think a majority of passengers want to be the first ones on the ship. I am not sure how MSC determines who gets which time. I know other lines have an online check-in process. Whoever checks in first gets to pick their time. There are only so many slots for 10, 1030, 11, etc….
  4. MSC and other cruise lines have embarkation times for a reason…if every passenger would arrive closer to their scheduled time…there would be less congestion.
  5. Same here. We never had any issues with booking online in 2019 and the same for our cruise in September. We never had to or wanted to make any changes to our reservation either. Maybe it is easier to make changes with a TA?
  6. Thanks for the reviews. I am happy to hear that the service had not changed since our last MSC cruise in 2019 (Seaside). We are booked on the Seascape for the 9/24 Cruise with an Aurea Balcony again.
  7. We have only sailed once with MSC (2019) but our 2nd cruise is on the Seascape 9/24. What we loved about MSC: Entire staff was super friendly Ship (Seaside) was beautiful Embarkation and disembarkation Aurea experience (anytime dining, separate sundeck and bar) Butchers Cut specialty restaurant The passenger mix Price (easy plus drink package and wifi included) Food quality in the MDR Starwalker show (Michael Jackson) we had zero complaints!!!!
  8. We are booked on the Seascape for 9/24 to 10/1. This will be our 2nd cruise with MSC. I have heard people commenting the temps in the hot tubs are just pool water temps. This will be our 9th cruise and Hot tubs were always “Hot”except for our cruise last December on the Carnival Mardi Gras. The tubs were look warm at best. Is this a new industry procedures…only warm tubs..or are were there problems on the ships. We informed customer service on the Mardi Gras and they said all the tubs should be hot. Nobody had an answer and the tubs stayed the same temp the entire cruise. Not a major issue for us but we like to hop in the hot tubs every once in a while on a cruise.
  9. I know the Aurea experience has changed and many people are saying it is not worth the extra charge now. Back in 2019 a drink package was included. Priority boarding and any time dining was also included. Back then, stateroom selection was also a big benefit. I know any time dining and room selection are still benefits. We booked Aurea experience again for 2023 because those were the best rooms still available and we need any time dining. A free massage was also included in 2019 but we did not use it. The aurea had its own section up on the top deck with its own bar. Never a wait for drinks and there was always open loungers.
  10. Ok….I think now we have fully discussed tipping and received a history lesson. Can we all agree….tipping is a personal preference….does not mean you are right or wrong when tipping or not tipping. I have vacationed in Europe 3 times and tipped in restaurants even with the added charge. I tipped on our MSC cruise in 2019 and will tip on the Seascape in 2023. That is my choice and I would never criticize (or care) if my fellow cruisers tip or do not tip. I just hope nobody is stressing out when on vacation if they should or should not tip.
  11. Thanks!!! That is great news. If anybody is wondering….they took reservations for 8 guests at each sitting. It was my wife, me, and 6 others who me have never met. The Chef does NOT come out and cook for you. It is served in courses. The table is very close to the kitchen area and away from the other customers. You are served a huge serving display of Seafood (shrimp, oysters, lobster, crab). The 8 of us ate almost all of it. You are served soup, marrow (which we did not like), 3 different types of meat (filet, bison, I forget the 3rd type), and a choice of a dessert. We had wine paired with 2 of the courses and the servers were outstanding. The meal lasted approximately 2 hours. Like i said before, this was the best meal we ever had on a cruise (Carnival, RC, and MSC).
  12. Is a Chef’s Table meal still offered at Butcher’s Cut restaurants. We were on the Seaside in 2019 having a great dinner when our waiter suggested the “Chef’s Table” reservations for our next meal. We never saw it advertised but decided to take a chance. It was the best dinner we ever had on a cruise ship. It was around $100 per person at that time. We are on the Seascape in September 2023 and hoping the Chef’s table is still being offered.
  13. We sailed on the Seaside in 2019 and absolutely loved it. We had an Aurea balcony. We booked a cruise on the Seascape out of Miami for next September. Seascape is the new sistership of the Seashore.
