  1. I think the dry expression on Soremekun’s face makes his many witty comments all the funnier.
  2. Issue resolved. A concierge emailed me this afternoon.
  3. Thank you for your response. I sent my requests in response to the email the concierge sent me, “If you require any assistance, I’ll be happy to help you.” Who knows, maybe the concierge is ill or something.
  4. I’ll be approaching the 48 hour point shortly. I’ll give it until tomorrow morning.
  5. So let’s say you’re booked for a suite and received an introduction letter from the concierge a week before sailing - when you send an email taking the concierge up on an offer to assist with things pre-cruise, what is a fair response time for the concierge to get back to you?
  6. Don’t know if my response is too late for you, but Maria is a concierge on Adven. of the Seas. Any thoughts on what a fair email response time is for a suite concierge for a pre-cruise question within a week of sailing?
  7. Hi Slotmomma - Were you able to make your reservations via the concierge before you cruised? How long did the concierge take to get back to you? Also - did you have the unlimited dining package?
  8. Going to lose five lbs before my cruise and going to gain 10 lbs during my cruise.
  9. I agree with you regarding Covid transmission occurring via air, but please agree with me that norovirus spreads via poor hygiene and the hands - so please everyone please please washie handsies!
  10. I certainly don’t mind your negative review CuseJeff44 - but a few points: -if the waiter only brought you four onion rings for four people, I assume you only ordered one side of onion rings? Why didn’t you order three more sides of onion rings? Surely you’re not telling us that you placed an order for four sides of onion rings and they brought you one ring each? -I really don’t understand your issue with the handwashing station in the Buffet. I want everyone on a cruise ship to wash their hands as much as possible. The last thing I want on a cruise vacation is norovirus. I’ll take the 2022 version of covid over norovirus any day. And let’s face it - the hand washing station is not going to cause covid any more than the main dining room or a crowded show or packed piano bar. So when you make some questionable comments in your review, you can’t be surprised when people are questioning your overall review.
  11. Hah - maybe someone just booked at the price you found. The room is now not appearing in the search results…. Or maybe somebody read this topic and wisely submitted a decent Royalup bid.
  12. Heard at the company’s 2022 Q3 earnings report: “Despite previously issued guidance projecting a quarterly loss, due to a surprise and wholly unexpected 20 thousand plus booking on a two decade plus ship for only a five night sailing, combined with understaffed ships fleet-wide, we are pleased to announce a narrow earnings beat both on the top & bottom line.”
  13. Let me know if you’ve come up with a hack to save a few bucks and I’ll toast you.
  14. Hah - I had to look up the price and it wasn’t what I was expecting.
  15. Too hot to go outside so I’m fooling around on the RCL website and Cruisecritic. Just for kicks, I checked to see the price for a 2 BR Grand Suite (for two adults, two kids) on the August 27th Adventure of the Seas five night cruise to Bermuda from Cape Liberty. It was $21,348. I’m sure it’s a nice big room and ok it’s got two bathrooms, but $21,348? I understand inflationary pressures and I get that it usually pays to book ahead, but really? $21,348 for 5 nights? From a business perspective, I really don’t get the price algorithms. The amount of RCL cruise price fluctuation blows my mind. I want say I looked at the same room two weeks ago and it was half the price.
  16. If you took the Adventure of the Seas cruise to Bermuda from Bayonne in the last month, can you let us know if there was a separate line for suite guests outside the terminal? Although we do not have The Key, perhaps people who do would be interested in this answer as well. I read that there is definitely a suite/key line once you get inside the terminal but given the crazy hot weather lately we want to take precautions so we do not fry in the hot sun while we wait to get into the terminal.
  17. How does the luggage drop off work? Are you driving and see a sign that says “luggage drop off” and then you stop, unload your trunk of bags to be checked and then you get back in your car to drive to the parking area? With your large family, did the driver drop the rest of you off at the terminal and then drive to the parking lot by himself and meet up with you in line?
  18. Is there a required fee for using the porters or is it tip based? Or is this included in order for RCL to gather everyone’s checked luggage?
  19. I don’t know enough about RoyalUp but I’m curious if RCL marketing is sending these emails to try to get people to pump up the bids between now and sail date, assuming you are still allowed to increase the bids.
  20. You can check in via the web through a desktop computer, iPad, or iPhone or any device that connects to the Internet. You can also check in via the app which most people prefer using to do so. You do need to have your vaccine cards photographed for uploading and I think it’s easier using a phone or iPad so you can maneuver the camera to take a selfie for uploading or use it to scan in your passport. You do not have to complete all the steps at once, however.
  21. Ah yes, I’m clearly a RCL novice assuming there was only one AOS. We’ll be on Adventure.
  22. (Standing behind BND & spouse in line & watching the them order) “I’ll have what they’re having!!” Barista: “Here’s a hot cup of Kopi luwak for you Sir!” (Slurping) Me: “Wow!?!! THAT ISSS A GOOOOOOOOD cup of coffeeeeeee! Where do the beans come from?” Barista gives explanation. Seconds later….. Barista: “PVI PVI!!!!!!”
  23. So sailing on AOS soon and RCL for the first time and I noticed Cafe Promenade has free coffee and specialty coffee drinks for purchase…but there’s also a Starbucks for coffee purchases. I will not be patronizing Starbucks on the ship, so what’s your review of the specialty drinks at Cafe Promenade? I’ve read posts about how people enjoy the espresso/cappuccino machine in the diamond and suite lounges (when they’re working) but does Cafe Promenade have the professional equipment that you’d find at a good cafe? Surely not the same machine as in the diamond/suite lounges? Should I save my $36.48 and not buy the cafe card or is it worth it?
