  2. That's an early departure from home! Safe travels to you both. We will be watching for you when you sail.🚢
  3. That is such a great thread! What do you think about possibly posting something on it to keep it around longer? Just something like "this is one of the most legendary threads ever posted on Cruise Critic!" I'd hate for it to disappear forever.
  4. I saw lots of kids mixed in the crowd today. I hope they learn to love cruising, or perhaps they already have!
  5. I think Princess ships' sail aways are noisier on the Caribbean 7 days runs. Younger people on board.
  6. My bluetooth headset is charging so let me know when the NA gets serious with the toots!
  7. Checking in between morning storms and evening storms here in north central Georgia.
  8. Thanks for your worry for me Bruce, but we are just having multiple thunderstorms here right now. The hail wasn't the size of a golf ball like I saw hit nearby Locust Grove. Our county is under a flood watch until mid afternoon. Only flooding I see from our hilltop home is the new lake on the fairway out back. Hope these storms move out soon! Very nice of you to prepare and share your spaghetti and meatball dinner last night with your neighbor. I'm sure he was most appreciative. 🍝
  9. Not easy to keep up with the time zones sometimes, as you found out. Glad it's straightened out now. I hope you brought your Georgia Dawgs jersey/shirt!
  10. I didn't check in earlier this morning so thanks for the photo.
  11. Congratulations to that boys basketball team from the high school. They must be very good winning 3 times in 6 years!🏀 Karen, I'm very sad to hear your DH is now in the ICU. I hope they can help get him stabilized quickly. Prayers for both of you! Take care of yourself so that you can help him when the time comes.
  12. Thank you everyone who has posted so far today with all your positive thoughts. A bravo to Rich @richwmn for his great informative post this morning. And a salute to Roy @rafinmd for locating all the first posts dates. I'm sure it wasn't easy to find them all. I was hoping for a serene Sunday but after I posted today I went back to my bed for a little "nap". The lightning and thunder became more continuous, then the heavy rain and HAIL began. I wandered around watching outside and listening to what sounded like nickels being thrown at the South and West windows. The storms come and go so we're in a thunderstorm band across Georgia. There's a new lake out on the fairway out back. What a day! I'm going back to read the original Daily posts now. Take care!
  13. Good morning friends! It is 67F with severe thunderstorms on their way shortly and a high of only 4 degrees higher, 71. Hopefully nothing bad will occur like wind damage, hail, leaking roof, or power outage and it will just be a heavy rainstorm. Thanks go to Rich @richwmn for our Daily on this our 3rd anniversary apparently. Three years ago we were in a fearful, chaotic period of time so I am thankful we are past that and the ships are back to normal routines. Today we shall celebrate Live Long and Prosper Day, apparently referring to the Star Trek series. I was never a fan sorry to say. So I guess we can Make Up Your Own Holiday Day if we want to. In addition we can salute spinach by including it in our diet somehow. We have a nice Mark Twain quote to ponder and agree with. Our menu suggestion is an interesting sounding Tex Mex Chicken Strips dish. Can't wait to hear the recipe and see the photos. Debbie @dfish is expected to return to that task today. We also have strawberry mai tai as the drink. Must be healthy with a nice fruit base like that. 😉 The wine today sounds lovely and I would be happy to test it for everyone. Thanks to Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for their reports later on. Hope the birthday party was a success for Ann's sister yesterday. The port of the day is a first timer, Praia, Cape Verde Islands. I was supposed to go to that port but weather prevented it. The previous day we had been to Mindelo, Cape Verde but Praia was not a GO. This was on the 2018 Grand Africa and Mediterranean cruise on the Prinsendam. We had a great time! I can show you what the seas looked like if anyone cares to see it. 😁 I just heard some distant thunder so had better get finished here soon. But first prayers for our Care list people and hopefully things will improve for all. 🙏 Cheers to the Celebration list. Happy traveling and smooth cruising to all! 🥂🎉 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for handling the lists for everyone! There is no link of course today due to this being the first presentation of Praia. Here is what I saw on March 24, 2018 through the window. And this... There is civilization over there. We went ahead to Banjul, The Gambia for an early arrival. I hope everyone has a Serene Sunday! Thanks to Graham @grapau27 for Father David's sermon and the good wishes to all of us. The same back to you and Pauline, Graham!🎂
  14. Someone said it has been Three years! 15. Another place with lots of parallel parking is downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lucky for me I figured it all out as I got more experienced at it.
  16. Jacqui, when you remove @AV8rix from the 7/29/23 Zaandam cruise shown above, there are two listings for that cruise (one after another). Just add my listing to the one @dfish is shown on. Get it all done at once and clean things up. Thank you very much!!
  17. Caron, I'm sorry to hear you have the dreaded virus attacking everyone, too, along with previous sufferers Susan @durangoscots and Carolyn @Cruising-along. I hope it doesn't take a full month to improve like others mentioned. Good to hear Pauline will get some experience driving soon because you may need joint replacements. She will be chauffering you places for a while then. Good luck at that doctor appointment. I didn't drive DH's new car a few years back because it had too many gadgets. Now I drive it a lot because my new one is even more difficult to figure out. Trying to teach an old dog new tricks, you know... I'm getting better at it. Hope that power outage is short-lived!
  18. I heard about all the tornadoes in Mississippi this morning while on the treadmill. What a disaster! Those twisters hit those buildings, not just trees falling on them so it (or they) were fierce tornadoes. Thanks for the memes again today Bruce. But how come that traffic in Colorado is driving on the left side of the road?? I'm so sorry to hear your friend has a brain injury! That is a very sad situation. I hope they get their refund, but most of all I hope they recover well from this injury. Beautiful butterflies, and a beautiful little girl, too. I'm always happy to hear you had a great Farkle Friday! I also saw the Palmer candy company had an explosion and fire yesterday. I believe I remember getting (and giving) Palmer chocolate Easter bunnies in the Easter baskets. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of life, missing and injured there. Prayers for all. A beautiful view with no neighbors in view. Nice! Maureen, The Noordam is nearly to Tauranga right now. It's nearly 5:30 am Sunday there. I use timeanddate.com to look up information like that. Good luck to your DH on his upcoming surgery. Terry, adorable puppy AND grandson! Let the fun begin! Karen, I'm sorry your husband is having such a time with the UTI bacteria. Your firefighter/EMTs are wonderful helping you out so much. Incredible the chief even cleared the blocked drainpipe. Being able to cruise again will be quite a reward for all you two have been through. Oh, I'm so glad someone has been to Sandnessjoen. The photos are great! Another beautiful place to see in Norway. Nice to know your name Tony. I hate to ask people for their name but if we talk to them here, sometimes it feels strange not referring to them by name. So funny you put away your snow shovel just yesterday and now look! Snow!
