  1. Paul, I believe I read that NCL Getaway is not going to Bermuda, but instead is going to Nassau. How mad were the passengers?
  2. It's quite all right. No one here expects us to be perfect! You have a great weekend, too! Cool photos of San Francisco. Thank you! Loved the Beatles! My parents used to play Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass records on our stereo in my tween years. But then they had to listen to us upstairs on our stereo listening to the Beatles over and over, all day long.
  3. Sorry about that. It wasn't on the halfacts.com/Daily listing and I'm not as knowledgeable as others here on 1950's rock and roll musicians/singers. All I can remember from that time period are the Elvis records my older DS played on our stereo.😉
  4. Roy, thanks for sharing your pastor's group email. I'm glad you are staying in, and sounding better. I hope the shortness of breath is improving and you are getting as much sleep as possible. Having folks nearby to check in with you and help out with errands and necessities is a great thing. Too bad your Daily family isn't nearby to do those things for you. We will continue to pray for your health to return and support you here.
  5. Melisa, I am deeply sorry for your and DH's loss today of his DS. Like he said, it wasn't a surprise but is never easy to hear. I hope the family will be united now and stop the squabbling. Prayers for you all.🙏
  6. As Nancy @ottahand7mentioned, her Captain is turning the Volendam back out to sea to escape the 90 mph winds. Here is the latest tracking of her path today.
  7. What I consider a Grand Voyage is a longer cruise from a US port that returns to that same port, and visits a far off area such as the Grand Africa, Grand South America and Antarctica, and Grand Australia cruise. A collectors voyage is two B2B cruises. This is my impression and someone else may have a more complete definition.
  8. Nancy I'm sorry the weather hasn't been better for some parts of your Antarctica adventure. Looks like a ship there by the ice in the second photo. Do you remember which ship it was? I'm thinking our first time in Antarctica will never be beat as to weather conditions so I should stay away and not be disappointed. First time was on Seabourn. The second time was on Princess and weather wasn't quite as good plus we didn't spend enough time in different places. I'm hoping the remainder of your cruise is safe and with great weather! Ann, good luck at your wellness exam. I hope everything is perfect. Bruce, great memes today. Hey, you will still be in Cancun on the 13th won't you? Look for Sky Princess leaving Cozumel around 5 pm. I'll wave! What a beautiful sunrise! I hope you and the family have had a wonderful time on your Disney cruise. Did you enjoy Castaway Cay? Annie, good luck taking Neko to the V E T today. Rain has stopped here and I hope to see that big yellow orb in the sky again before long.
  9. Good morning friends! Same as yesterday I hear rain drops hitting the window behind me. This should stop after an hour or so and then we will see sunshine around 9 am and for the remainder of the day. It's about 42F and will only reach a high of about 50 today. Thanks to Rich @richwmnfor working hard to prepare all the Daily information for us ahead of his World Cruise. Today is bubble gum day but I haven't had any bubble gum in many years. It was fun when we were kids to chew it. We'd collect bottles and return them to our local mom and pop store to buy candy. Also feed the birds day. That's a good one for Annie @marshhawkand Joy @Seasick Sailor. The day the music died was a sad one for music fans. RIP Buddy Holly and Richie Valen. I like the Edison quote. No thank you to the salmon dish, but I'll take a pina colada. DH enjoys a Cabernet Sauvignon but not me. The port today is San Francisco. We had that last June 22 and I'll copy Rich's @richwmn's Daily post below for you all. Apparently that was the day I was sprung from Covid jail on the Island Princess! Since I didn't have access to my photos on the ship I didn't post any. We had disembarked in San Francisco in 2012 on Star Princess after our Rio de Janeiro to San Francisco cruise and disembarkation was a real disaster there. It took so long to get off the ship many people missed their flights! I had a shuttle reserved for us and a few other people to get to the airport and the police would try to stop it, and others like it from pulling up to the curb to pick up passengers. When he finally did pull up people tried to hijack him to take them to the airport and we had to fight them off (not literally). It made me never want to disembark there ever again! We lived an hour outside S.F. for four years at one point and used to travel into the city for entertainment and to show our family the sights. Those were the good old days when it was a fit place to walk around. Not anymore I'm sad to say! Prayers today for all on the Care list. I hope there will be major improvement soon for you all. I hope Roy is sleeping away right now but somehow I doubt it. 🙂 Three cheers to everyone on the Celebration list. Good luck in your travels everyone and hope the cruises are wonderful. Next Friday we will be on the road to Fort Lauderdale so I hope it's a nice day and everyone behaves themselves on the roads. Rich's post. I guess DS and Ren along with Colton and Dad made it home safely last night. I texted at boarding time and he said Colton and Dad were still in the security line after 90 minutes. It must have been a zoo there in Dallas. They finally arrived and boarded just before the doors closed. Hopefully they held flights a few minutes for all of the people being delayed by security. The weather should be warmer there today now that DS has left! Have a great day everybody! I'm on time for my usual treadmill routine so off I go.🏃‍♀️

  12. Your room looks great Debbie! Excellent job painting. And so many closets. You definitely need to splurge on a few new clothes to help fill them. Did you make the quilt? It's beautiful! Love the colors and pattern.
  13. May I please second everyone's opinions that our dear friend Roy had too busy of a day? Even doing half those errands would be a lot for someone recovering from pneumonia and just out of the hospital. Roy, I agree that you probably have friends, firemen, or neighbors who could pick up a prescription or food items. Take it easier tomorrow. Don't get up early tomorrow -- I can post again for you in the morning because I'm up early anyway! Give it a few days. Hugs from your CC Daily family. 🤗
  14. Thanks Rich! I'm sorry to see the weather isn't the greatest there. I love visiting Tauranga but I always think of it as sunny. What a shock! LOL Our favorite thing to so there is walk all around Mount Maunganui on the hiking path. Great views of the water all the way around.
  15. I'm happy to hear your lip isn't too painful this morning. Mouths heal quickly so hope that is the case with your stitched up lip. Thanks for your photos today. The Greek salad made me hungry! And the tour you took sounds like a good one. I don't have a list of who posts here but if this is your first visit, welcome and we hope you come back. Good luck with the foster dog! DS was notified early today that his 3 pm flight was delayed until 6:30 pm. We'll see if that time holds or not. Yes, it's a shame things haven't worked out as planned for the Dads. The Moms were there a while back with the boys so they got a better idea of the Club and area. The Dads wanted a good look too. Thanks for your photos too! Thanks for your comments, too Vanessa. It's been my pleasure to help Roy with his Daily postings. We'll all be happy when he is back on his "feet" doing what he loves best. Being sick like this is a real bummer for him. I saw he liked some earlier posts today but hoping we will hear from him before the day is gone.
  16. Bruce, your stay at the resort in Cancun looks just heavenly. So beautiful, nice temps, gorgeous water, and people to wait on you and feed you. What more could you ask for? Love the cruising hobby meme! Sounds like most of us. I'm sorry this is going to take longer than you expected. Hoping for no more complications and less pain in your future. Sounds like the doctor is doing a good job of keeping an eye on that elbow. Prayers for you!🙏 I'm sorry that Sue came down with Covid, too. Good luck with remaining negative and staying away from your housemates. I hope Tana is feeling more like eating today. And thanks, I hope the flights are leaving on time from DFW. I need to ask which flight they're on so I can track them. That is ridiculously cold Gerry! Hope the hot soup and wine keeps you two toasty! The blue plate must be beautiful. It must have been a trick wrapping that up and making it home without breakage. Whoops! Sorry @RedneckBob I wasn't aware of another stop on the trip. Hope Houston is out of the ice/snow zone. Very sad about the tree damage there. You may have to replace some if pruning doesn't help. But the friend's neighbor's house burning down is a real tragedy. It happened on my street in 2014 (electrical fire), they rebuilt and ironically just sold that house Monday. It was better than original, and they added even more square footage in the basement by finishing off some of the mechanical room areas. Highest priced house in the entire development. Thanks for that interesting bit of knowledge. I have no idea how they'd read that but perhaps will go on the hunt for the information. Much appreciated!
  17. Prayers today for our friend Roy @rafinmd who was finally allowed to go home yesterday from the hospital. I hope he is resting well at home and has someone to come in and check on him. I'm sure it will take a while to get his strength back after suffering from pneumonia and low sodium. Prayers also to all on the Care list and anyone I may have missed. We still haven't heard from Kathi @Scrapnanabut hope she is receiving treatment and will let us know later how she is faring. Prayers also for Tana, Jacqui, the Ukraine people, everyone hit with ice storms, freezing temps, frozen pipes, and icy roads. Please take care! DS is still in Dallas with the snow and ice and I bet he's thinking I could have stayed home in Michigan to experience this type of weather! The restaurants are mostly closed so they got groceries and are eating in. Also noticed besides using the hot tub they are watching Mexican soccer matches on the big screen. The boys had another 90 minute training session yesterday, but no idea what today holds. They are supposed to fly home tonight. Who knows if any flights will be going out of Dallas this evening. Cheers to our list of Celebration people. Many are preparing to go on cruises and some of you are already there. Hope it's a nice warm place! If it's Antarctica it may not be warm right now but it is spectacular and well worth the effort. 🥂 Late for the treadmill. Have a good day everyone!
  18. Good morning friends! Here in north central Georgia we have begun to rain again, 49F with a high of only 53 later. A good day to stay inside cuddled up with a good book and some comfort food. Today we celebrate Candlemas, Groundhog Day and National Sweater Day in Canada. Candlemas is a Christian holiday and a day of light. We all know about Groundhog Day and awaiting the word whether spring is just around the corner or still a long way off. I haven't heard any word on that because the groundhogs are probably all still asleep. Congrats to any Canadians celebrating their sweaters today. You will probably need one! No thanks to the menu suggestion because I don't care for curry, chickpeas or acorn squash! I'll also pass on the drink and red wine. A nice quote I think we can agree on. Port of the day is on Santorini, Thira. If you don't mind donkeys or gondolas you'll do all right there. Rich presented us with that port on October 24, 2021 and March 12, 2022. We've enjoyed that port 3 times. Here are the links to Rich's posts to retrieve your photos. Here are my photos from Oct. 2021. I only posted photos from our first time there because they would probably all be the same. In fact the third time we stayed on the ship. I believe the weather wasn't great that day. In 2012 we stopped at Santorini for the first time on Crown Princess. Once we made our way to the top using the gondolas, we walked to the local bus station and boarded a bus headed to Oia. This stop was in late November so the crowds weren't terrible. Along the way the view of the island and coastline. Once in Oia we did what we all do, walk around and take photos. Here is the blindingly white church. Everything there is blindingly white! Anything not white seems to be Santorini blue. I like to take photos of doorways. I haven't figured out what this is. What do you think? After our nice visit to Oia we rode the bus back along the two lane winding road to Fira. Another ride down on the gondolas and a tender over to the ship. A beautiful stop on our Greek Isles cruise.😎

  21. I wondered if that was the Hilton in Rich's @richwmnphoto. We stayed overnight there once after disembarking in Auckland, and went to the airport for our flight home next morning. Just a short walk from the ship to hotel.
  22. Roy @rafinmdglad you're home and hope you have a restful night without coughing/breathing issues. Jacqui @kazuis your bone healing well? Did you get a new cast? I hope you aren't in too much pain still.
  23. They are excellent! Great job. Oh good. I hope Roy or you can report back to us so we can be assured he's settled in. I can still handle tomorrow morning's Daily and lists if he's okay with that. It would give him time to rest. From @XBGuy: "Dailyites, please help me out a bit. I've lived a sheltered life and, so, I have learned a lot on these threads. For example, I had never heard of that "Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" thing until I started following these threads. Today it appears to be "Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit." Why has it changed?" From Wikipedia: "Rabbit rabbit rabbit" is a superstition found in Britain and North America wherein a person says or repeats the words "rabbit", "rabbits" and/or "white rabbits" aloud upon waking on the first day of a month, to ensure good luck for the rest of it. Waiting to hear how Jacqui's day went today. 🤞
  24. That's interesting. Do you remember the area where you saw the tornado?
  25. Fantastic news!! I hope they are helping you with transport home since you took an ambulance there. Keep us updated!
