  1. I'm just answering the OP's question, I'm getting the same OBC without the risk. It's the same as someone who buys a stock for the dividends and then sells it after getting the dividend, which I've done too.
  2. Scored?? I think ripped off would be a better term. I've booked 7 day cruises on premium lines for less. However, I've sailed Disney and have found Florida resident discounts a month or two out the best deal. But, I no longer sail with them because they're too expensive.
  3. The fat Captain (I don't know his name) on the Meraviglia unceremoniously bounced to MSC from the Carnival Legend too; I guess MSC hires the rejects. He was the captain involved in the family brawl out of Australia that went viral.
  4. I'm still waiting for points for onboard and prepaid purchases from my February cruise, 5 months ago. I email them every week or so, they asked for proof which I sent, then they ignored me for over 2 months, and now they tell me I got them when I haven't.
  5. According to the internet, the duck hiding was started in 2018 by a 10 or 11-year-old girl named Abby Davis to bring a smile to others.
  6. No joke, I found over 50 on one 4 day cruise. I have so many ducks I created a duck Christmas tree. A lot of ducks have a hole in the bottom, and you can put the light inside and it lights up the duck; although, it works better on light colored ducks as opposed to darker ones. Now, I order ducks and hide them on the ships.
  7. I just got off the Meraviglia today and this was my first cruise as a diamond member. I was told by an entertainment crew member I could go to the front of the line for self assist debarkation. When I did that I was told by a different person I had to wait in line with everyone else and that priority debarkation was only if I checked my bags. I found the entertainment guy and he put me in the front of the line. Does anyone know what the policy is?
  8. MSC and Princess hasn't charged me, but Carnival always does. Maybe because with Carnival you're buying a drink package and with other cruise lines the drinks are included in your fare. Just a guess.
  9. Carnival is comparing one day with a big announcement to one day 2 years ago with no news, I would think bookings would go up.
  10. I doubt you'll be spoiled, I was given a free upgrade to a grand suite and I wasn't impressed. The Jacuzzi was cold, and the bidet, well, that was useless; after six days of washing my face in it I found out that it wasn't used for that.
  11. I sailed on May 21st and got my check about a week ago; maybe you should call them instead of emailing.
  12. Then I guess you shouldn't cruise or fly or go to the movies or go to the hospital or a theme park. There will always be covid, you can't avoid it or the flu either.
  13. I agree with you, but you are also likely to get covid off the ship as well at any number of places. There were spikes in cases before cruise ships even started operating again. I take precautions; but, I also think cruise ships have gotten a bad rap.
  14. I just discovered a thread on this 50% FCC, apparently everyone is getting it that has cruised so far; I hope you get it too, you should.
  15. Got my email too, I was also wondering if everyone on the whole season will get it. Now, I've read the Sky is experiencing propulsion issues too due to a generator, maybe the new ships aren't necessarily the best either.
  16. I'm happy with it and the $300 onboard credit per person we received, still waiting on that check to come though. I think the credit will actually give me a free cruise with what I spent on Alaska. I will book one more to use the credit, but then I'm done with Princess; maybe I'm not too happy. It looks like the almost brand new Sky is now experiencing propulsion issues too. I put this out there to let people know, so hopefully they get it too.
  17. I've been on over 50 cruises and would say it's normal for there to be a lot of empty rooms 8.5 months out. People are procrastinators and a lot of people think they get better deals closer to the cruise date; who knows? I've seen good deals both ways. Areas of the ship will not generally be closed off, with the exception of maybe a dining room. I have never heard of a cruise being cancelled due to a lack of interest as they still have plenty of fixed costs.
  18. I got an email last night from Princess saying my 20% FCC is now 50%, I know one other person got this too; has anyone else received this? Just wondering if it's survey related or they're just giving it to everyone.
  19. You must be on the Crown. You will not have time to go to Nugget falls, nor will you have time to do the glacier and the tram, it's one or the other. I barely had time to do the glacier.
  20. I did the survey and it wasn't good. I logged into my account but it doesn't show up yet, just the 20%, but the email said it may take up to 2 weeks. Maybe if you keep checking your accounts it will show up for both of you. I don't see how you both couldn't get it since you were traveling together.
  21. I wonder if the staffing shortages are just a way to save money since most cruise lines are offering good deals to entice bookings.
  22. I got the same email last night, I wasn't going back to Princess either; but now will at least consider looking, I don't think I'll go on more than than just the one though. I wonder if everyone is getting this offer? I was on the May 21 sailing.
