  1. It's wine by the bottle, they have a 3 bottle package and a 5 bottle package. The 3 bottles are $81 and 5 bottles are $126 + gratuities. There's also a premium wine package that's more. I buy the package in the Cherry on Top shop, they'll give you coupons you can redeem at any bar. Two packages are enough for us for a 5 day cruise with the 2 bottles we bring with us; so, we only spend $300 instead $700 on Cheers.
  2. What irritates me the most is my other family members have had room rates with cheers included at a big discount; I don't get these offers because I actively sail, they don't. I check their VIFP numbers all the time. Nice way to treat Diamond members, Carnival.
  3. I've been on almost 50 Carnival cruises and never purchased the Cheers package, it's way overpriced (and I like to drink). I was just looking at the pricing before it goes up, $707 for 5 days, not a good deal; that's more than I spent on the cruise. I prefer the Vineyards package.
  4. So it's another useless benefit like "priority" debarkation.
  5. In June? Didn't Carnival go up? I mean I'm not watching it all the time since I'm not upside down on it lol.
  6. I think it's new, I just got an email from MSC about doing the online check-in on the app and downloading my boarding pass; I've never received that before.
  7. Wow, I guess Celebrity only cares about money, not necessarily the repeat cruisers that keep them in business. I have my first cruise booked with them for Christmas, I hope they don't cancel it.
  8. The Divina was nice as has all the other 4 I've been on, but unfortunately their customer service isn't nice. They're very hard to deal with and they always lie to you and say they'll take care of it and nothing ever happens. I've also been told they would have a supervisor call me back, they never called. Every time you call and they don't lie, they just say you have to email; that's the only way to communicate with the Voyagers Club. Funny thing, the confirmation email you receive letting you know they received your email always says you can call when you can't. I went round and round with them for about 6 months trying to get points for onboard purchases before I finally got them.
  9. I'm not sure about that, as diamond I was always told by the agents who checked us in that the room was ready, they said nothing about just dropping off the luggage. I remember we didn't have that benefit as platinum because I was excited to get it when I turned diamond. When we got to the room, the door was shut; I nap shortly after boarding because I can't ever sleep the night before and no one ever tried to come in the room and they wouldn't have known I was in the room. That all changed after the restart, now it's just drop and go.
  10. When I went to Alaska I stood on the top deck and went from side to side, which is what I'd suggest (unless you can get a room with a view of both sides). But, if you want to stay on your balcony I'd say stay on the starboard side, that is where I saw all the whales in Glacier Bay. My mother went the next year after me and all the whales she saw were on the starboard side also. The glacier is visible on either side.
  11. I used to be loyal to Carnival but Carnival wasn't loyal to me so instead of cruising exclusively with Carnival I sail many other lines now. I checked my mothers and brothers VIFP numbers on cruises I had booked and they got better deals than me. I was diamond and they were red cards. I had "price protection" and Carnival still wouldn't give me their rates. But, because I had 6 - 8 cruises booked at a time Carnival thought they had me, not anymore. After trying other lines, I'm always surprised when I come back to Carnival and I think wow I used to like this?
  12. Personally, I would put everything in the closet if it fits, I don't think the attendants really look in there. I put my bags on the bed and the room attendant still moved them, but I'm sure it depends on the attendant. And remember, don't shut the door to the room.
  13. I just checked faster to the fun and dropping off your luggage in the room and express luggage service is listed as a perk, but they're not listed for platinum or diamond members.
  14. I don't even see dropping your luggage off at your room listed as a benefit on Carnival's website, I know it's allowed though, is this now an unofficial benefit that Carnival is maybe trying to phase out? Do they still offer priority luggage service for checked bags? I didn't see that listed either.
  15. I think Carnival hasn't added anything above diamond yet because they probably plan to add some new benefits and cut some benefits from current levels, but they're afraid of enraging people; they already cut gold out of the party and made it platinum diamond only. As far as free drinks, he didn't say an open bar for the entire cruise and RCL already gives free drinks to people who only have 80 days sailed.
  16. No, it was a black Audi headed to Miami. It's not a far stretch to add a new level, Carnival already added 2, red and diamond. I've heard talk for years about adding a new level, but that was just talk, this guy had concrete details. Yes, he could've just been blowing smoke up our ... But, who knows?
  17. I don't know if this is entirely true. My first few cruises, I did a shore excursion at every port, played bingo, drank a lot, spent a lot of money; now, I rarely do excursions or activities. In fact, I will stay on the ship while in many ports and I know a number of other people who do the same thing. The cruise and ports just get very repetitive; but, I enjoy the relaxation and time away from work and a cell phone. I have also heard other diamonds brag about not having a bill other than maybe gratuities. It's just my opinion but it seems to me blue cards spend the most money.
  18. I was just on the Freedom in August and there was a Carnival employee attending the diamond lunch (at least he claimed to be). He said he was working with a group on a new level, black diamond; he thought this level would start at 400 days but it was still being discussed and nothing was final yet. He was basically getting feedback from us on the new level, but this was before he told us about it. According to him, Carnival will not be removing any current benefits each level gets, Carnival will instead add new benefits to the new level (I told him I didn't believe that and Carnival only knows how to subtract, not add). He said one new benefit being discussed was free drinks and that was all he mentioned; then he quickly left.
  19. I hope Carnival doesn't get rid of this benefit if there are too many people using it that shouldn't. As someone else pointed out they've already lessened it since your room is no longer ready when you get on the ship.
  20. I'm saying I wouldn't wait for it, because I go to bed early, but if I happened to be up its better than waiting for the pizza. I wanted to try it since it's new, but it was disappointing and that's my opinion. The OP's question was is it a hit or miss, not let's all praise Carnival for bringing something back they got rid of.
  21. Ok, all that makes sense, and he did tell us not to put our bags on the floor. I also guess it's harder on them since now they have more rooms to clean since Carnival went to one cleaning a day.
  22. I didn't think it was worth the wait, meatball sub was dry and pizza was terrible, chicken nuggets were okay, but I wish they had barbecue sauce. After trying the late night snacks, I preferred the deli; but, I go to bed by 11.
  23. Maybe it's just us, but the room attendants don't seem as friendly to us going to our room to drop off our bags. I get stare downs in the hall and on the Freedom in August, I had just entered the room when the attendant told me I couldn't stay in the room; I had only been in the room for about 10 seconds. Of course I didn't say anything since he had access to my toothbrush.
  24. I have the Horizon ABC booked for October 2024. My last ABC was cancelled because of a covid outbreak among the crew on the Freedom Christmas 2021; Carnival gave us a lousy $100 OBC per room (we only got to go to Curacao).
  25. Let's face it, it's Carnival, I'm sure they're not getting the cream of the crop so to speak. Two days to do what? The website worked before. Now most of the cruises I was looking at have disappeared and cruises a year from now almost fully booked with insane prices?
