  1. Maybe it's just us, but the room attendants don't seem as friendly to us going to our room to drop off our bags. I get stare downs in the hall and on the Freedom in August, I had just entered the room when the attendant told me I couldn't stay in the room; I had only been in the room for about 10 seconds. Of course I didn't say anything since he had access to my toothbrush.
  2. I have the Horizon ABC booked for October 2024. My last ABC was cancelled because of a covid outbreak among the crew on the Freedom Christmas 2021; Carnival gave us a lousy $100 OBC per room (we only got to go to Curacao).
  3. Let's face it, it's Carnival, I'm sure they're not getting the cream of the crop so to speak. Two days to do what? The website worked before. Now most of the cruises I was looking at have disappeared and cruises a year from now almost fully booked with insane prices?
  4. I'm just answering the OP's question, I'm getting the same OBC without the risk. It's the same as someone who buys a stock for the dividends and then sells it after getting the dividend, which I've done too.
  5. Scored?? I think ripped off would be a better term. I've booked 7 day cruises on premium lines for less. However, I've sailed Disney and have found Florida resident discounts a month or two out the best deal. But, I no longer sail with them because they're too expensive.
  6. The fat Captain (I don't know his name) on the Meraviglia unceremoniously bounced to MSC from the Carnival Legend too; I guess MSC hires the rejects. He was the captain involved in the family brawl out of Australia that went viral.
  7. I'm still waiting for points for onboard and prepaid purchases from my February cruise, 5 months ago. I email them every week or so, they asked for proof which I sent, then they ignored me for over 2 months, and now they tell me I got them when I haven't.
  8. According to the internet, the duck hiding was started in 2018 by a 10 or 11-year-old girl named Abby Davis to bring a smile to others.
  9. No joke, I found over 50 on one 4 day cruise. I have so many ducks I created a duck Christmas tree. A lot of ducks have a hole in the bottom, and you can put the light inside and it lights up the duck; although, it works better on light colored ducks as opposed to darker ones. Now, I order ducks and hide them on the ships.
  10. I just got off the Meraviglia today and this was my first cruise as a diamond member. I was told by an entertainment crew member I could go to the front of the line for self assist debarkation. When I did that I was told by a different person I had to wait in line with everyone else and that priority debarkation was only if I checked my bags. I found the entertainment guy and he put me in the front of the line. Does anyone know what the policy is?
  11. MSC and Princess hasn't charged me, but Carnival always does. Maybe because with Carnival you're buying a drink package and with other cruise lines the drinks are included in your fare. Just a guess.
  12. Carnival is comparing one day with a big announcement to one day 2 years ago with no news, I would think bookings would go up.
  13. I doubt you'll be spoiled, I was given a free upgrade to a grand suite and I wasn't impressed. The Jacuzzi was cold, and the bidet, well, that was useless; after six days of washing my face in it I found out that it wasn't used for that.
  14. I sailed on May 21st and got my check about a week ago; maybe you should call them instead of emailing.
  15. Then I guess you shouldn't cruise or fly or go to the movies or go to the hospital or a theme park. There will always be covid, you can't avoid it or the flu either.
  16. I agree with you, but you are also likely to get covid off the ship as well at any number of places. There were spikes in cases before cruise ships even started operating again. I take precautions; but, I also think cruise ships have gotten a bad rap.
