  1. ... To decrease service across the board to please those who desire less service makes no sense. I don't for a moment believe that is Carnival's motivation. Companies make cutbacks for one reason and one reason alone, money. They merely desire, when possible, that it appears as though they are doing their customers a favor. ...

I believe this 100%. While CC does not represent all cruisers, it is a significant sample size and we should be able to infer that the vast majority here prefer 2 cleanings a day.

  2. We were on the Dream last week and were given the card by our steward. It's a check the box card with the option of morning or evening cleaning and there was no box for both. It also contained boxes for any extras you might need, like extra blankets or towels. Our steward did give us his personal card with his number and told us to call him if we needed anything.

Did you check just one box, or both of the morning and evening boxes?

  3. ...as I type this from my iPhone (as the entitled do). I personally think that almost everyone who can go on a cruise or goes on a cruise has moments of entitlement..."I'm entitled to throw my towel on a chair and keep it there all day" I'm entitled to jump in front of someone in the buffet line", "I'm entitled to NOT sanitize my hands so that others may get sick"...none of us are perfect citizens. If the worst thing you do in life is prop a balcony door open, you are not a terrible person

Here is the issue though...when we all started doing this years ago(yes i said "we" because I USED to do this) it was not really understood that it could cause serious problems with the other cabins in the area. I thought it was only my cabin that would be affected.

Once it became known that you could be raising the temperature of your neighbors because of the way the A/C system works, I stopped doing it out of consideration for them. That is also why I take the time to close my balcony door manually instead of letting it slam.

Anyone who props their balcony door open, knowing that it will cause issues for their neighbors, is being very selfish and inconsiderate.

  4. Unless you have pre-paid your tips, remember to add those in to your budget - 2 cruises' worth! :)

Not questioning your choice, but if it were me I would probably just do one cruise with no budget worries, rather than a B2B with restrictions.

It is VERY easy to spend a lot of money if you aren't careful!

  5. I just emailed my Shareholder information Wednesday and the credit was applied within 24 hours.

Here are the steps I follow:

    1) Wait until the cruise is only 3 or 4 weeks away

    2) Get latest PDF statement from broker

    3) Email guestadmin@carnival.com with Name, Sail date, Ship, Booking number, and attach the pdf

This process works for me every time, and I have never experienced any delays as others mention. :)

  6. There are several sizes of suites: Junior suites (only 2 total on Conquest), Ocean Suites, Grand Suites, and Captain's Suites.

I assume you are talking Ocean or Grand suite? They are larger than standard rooms for sure, but only the Captains suite has multiple bed rooms.

Put the 20 year old in a cabin by herself so you can have some privacy ;)
