What's going on with Royal Caribbean?

For me, those moments do not exist. They are just "episodes" of memories that got canceled because of poor ratings. 😒 -

RCI has three more chances this year with my wife and I to prove you right. I will not base my decisions on a one off. That is why I booked three more cruises after that! 😁 -

I can respect your observation. Some posters can be a bit dramatic in claiming that "They will never cruise again." It can be a bit tiring, but it is part of the process of expressing their opinion. We all have our moments. 😀 -
What's going on with Royal Caribbean?
Engineroom Snipe replied to ksuyen's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have been cruising for over thirty years with RCI. I have noticed many of the observations posted to be indicative of my most recent September Oasis cruise in September 2022. This was my first high-capacity cruise since the opening after shut-down. RCI food has always been an 8 or higher on a 1 to 10 previously. Oasis was a 5. I do not know what happened, but it seems that many of the observations are accurate to my experience. This site is called "Cruise Critic", what do you expect? 😉 -
Was a little worried about Liberty, BUT...

I might not care about a laundry I cannot see but I would be irritated if I paid for a balcony only to have smoke blown in my face. I like to cruise for "fresh air". Amazing. 😦 -
Norovirus on Brilliance
Engineroom Snipe replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Norovirus is a hand-to- mouth infection in most cases. The mask does not directly protect against the infection because it is hand-to-mouth. The mask is an extra barrier to make crew avoid a hand-to-mouth or finger to nose contact. In many cases, these actions are not deliberate but the effect of bad habits that develop over a lifetime. Is it 100% effective? No. The cruise line must think it is effective enough to mandate their use in this case. 🤔 -

Do you work for RCI in their IT department? 😉 -

Everyone is getting upset because you a looking "down upon us". I feel like steerage. 🤣 -
For people on low-sodium diets who crave salt, it was probably MSG and soy sauce with extra salt added. 😁 Forbidden fruit always taste the best and the "I am on vacation" phrase is an easy way to justify it for one week. 🤣

Norovirus on Brilliance
Engineroom Snipe replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have seen people use their forks and knives (besides fingers 🤢) when obtaining items in the Windjammer even with Staff serving food. This kinds of negates taking away the utensils in an effort to reduce possible food contamination by guests. I can understand why some people try to eat early in the hours available to reduce the possibility of illness. In the service, I ate things that a Billy-goat would spit out because I had to in order to survive. I also got sick more times than I can count from those items. It was easier to count the days my gastrointestinal system was not complaining about what I ingested. I am now getting softer with more medical issues than I would like to admit. I am careful too. -

With everything else you ate in the past 36 hours. 🥴 I do not like to see anyone going through this quick weight loss program. 😬 -

What is a sober on day?🤔😁 -
I am sorry, did not mean to offend you. I have never a cabana. Please look at the cabana pages. If your cabana includes any type of special access, in most cases, you will need to designate the names of those persons so they can get wristbands for the water park attraction which in your case is no more than eight. I can see no other reason to ask such a question unless you are trying to share the cabana with more than eight people. If you are paying for eight people, I really think the question answers itself. I made my comment because you are going to get all types of responses with none of them guaranteed to be correct. Many of the posters will start contradicting the opinions of other posters. You will get many answers but none of them may apply in your case. You cannot take any answer on this blog to Royal Caribbean and hold them to it. I would most likely ask that question to an Royal Caribbean Travel Advisor.

Please help avoid a mutiny!

If you follow some of the other posts about how people feel the need to blast their personal devices in public areas, I will be surprised if you cannot hear the game from another table in the MDR. 🤣 You can tell whether someone's favorite team is losing by watching the food fly up into the air or being thrown down at the floor. 😁 -

You do not sound like a "complainer" with these types of reviews. I could agree to disagree with you because you provide a rationale for your opinions and are specific to why you find something deficient and what you think a reasonable solution could be. I look forward to your reviews because my next cruise is in April. I would like to know if this was a one-off, learning curve, or a harbinger of things to expect. I live with two great Chefs in my house and I can hold my own with pride on the BBQ and smoker so we never go "for the food". We have found SOMETHING on the menu that we normally do not eat and experiment in both the MDR and Windjammer. As of our last cruise in September 2022, I have had some very good dishes and some dishes that needed much more care and attention then they were given. I hope they do not cut-back too much. I keep hoping this is a source of supply issue combined with new kitchen staff coming up-to-speed with the higher ship occupancy rates. -

These types of factual presentations are real buzzkills. I like to believe in my own sense of alternate reality and facts. A pox on factual posters with their pictures and cute anecdotes. 🤣 -

Maybe meant to be sarcasm and not to be interpreted literally? -
Great point. How much is your time worth? Some people will say, "But it is the principle of the matter." You could spend more hours trying to fix this and maybe still not get it resolved. I wish I was wise enough to say what you should do. I am not. Maybe take all your paperwork, scan it, and send an email to corporate with the scanned attachments. At least you will have proof of documentation with dates should you pursue this later. Take all of the paperwork to guest services onboard and maybe get an OBC?
