Cruise fare drops for the latter part of the year
JackE replied to JackE's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I booked before the change, so I already had the pre-paid gratuities. PLUS this new promotional rate includes wifi, drinks and tips! -
I was looking at a recent Celebrity promotional email from this week and noticed that the fare for our Reflection sailing in December dropped by a good amount. I notified our TA and while I lost some OBC from the original booking, after rebooking the same category/cabin, we saved about $1K total on the cruise fare (it was a Sky Suite). I recommend everyone do some due diligence! Happy sailing! โค๏ธ๐ข๐พ๐ฅ

Reflection LIVE 2/3/24-2/11/24: 8 Crazy Nights of ABC Islands
JackE replied to GenerationX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
What a beautiful post Charla. Reminds me of how fortunate I am to even be able to cruise. We celebrated our honeymoon on the Apex and our room steward and butler (we got our move up bid!) treated us like royalty. I hope you enjoyed your time on board, and hug GenZ and Jeremy tightly tonight. -
We did the same! We really enjoyed being on the pre-inaugural cruise of Ascent that while on board we booked the maiden voyage of Xcel. The itinerary doesnโt mean that much to us, it was a blast being on a brand new ship. Happy cruising all!

Another Charla cruise! Yippeee! So sorry for your and your family's loss, and I hope you and Jeremy have a wonderful trip. We're going to be on the Reflection later this year so I can't wait for your posts! Bon voyage! -
Past Ascent cruisers: where did you have lunch embarkation day?
JackE replied to dleahy4444's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We also went to Raw on 5 on Embarkation Day. Had a great lunch, and it wasn't crowded. Highly recommend. -
The Ascent is quite beautiful! But everyone can read all about it in @Georgia_Peaches excellent live review! In my opinion, Celebrity has improved on the Edge class series of ships with this newest entry. We have sailed on the Edge and Apex, but not the Beyond. As we are sailing in a Sunset Suite, weโve had the great fortune of experiencing Luminae and the Retreat areas, which are incredibly well-appointed and stunning. Luminae on this ship, we are told, holds another 40 guests, as there are more suites on board. The restaurant now curves around the front of the ship, offering great views outside the floor to ceiling windows. The outside Retreat area is now on two decks, with lots more seating and shaded areas. The Retreat lounge is spacious, with the outside seating area now incorporated into the main inside area. Our Retreat host (aka our room steward) has been very accommodating and has asked a few times about what he can do for us. We donโt need much, but itโs nice to be asked! We have not even met the head of the โButler teamโ. This is our first time in the Sunset Suites, and you certainly get your steps in! The regular Sky Suites have better storage but weโre enjoying the new room.

I watched his video through the end, and while he cancelled his booking on the maiden voyage, he booked himself to be on the very first cruise November 22 (and he booked his first Virgin Voyage cruise to follow the Ascent cruise). So he will be on the Ascent as a first cruiser. There wasn't a lot of "shade" and he seems genuinely excited about experiencing the new Celebrity ship.

Regarding FLL, there's a restaurant on Las Olas called YOLO, excellent food, and make sure you order the "flaming" dessert. A very fun restaurant, we're going on Saturday night before our cruise. For Eden, they serve the best crab cake ever, make sure you order at least one. The tasting menu is A LOT of food, so beware. It's a terrific experience, food and ambiance. Happy Anniversary in advance! โค๏ธ

My partner Andrew and I will also be joining you on the second sailing for the three night Bahamas getaway. We will be in a Sunset Suite, first time for us. I will be bringing plenty of Bonine as I do suffer from seasickness, and I have no idea how I will do being in the aft of the ship! But I thought the short sailings would be a good way to try it out. We'll see! We sailed on the Apex last year in the Baltic, and this summer we were on the Edge from Barcelona to Rome. We took Andrew's mom on an Alaska cruise on the Solstice before the pandemic, so we very much enjoy Celebrity. On the Apex trip we did the move up bid, and got a Sky Suite, and were spoiled (. It will be interesting on this cruise with the Retreat butler team, but we didn't ever ask that much of the butler, so we may no feel a difference. This is also the first time we have sailed on a New Ship, and we're very excited! But we have to get through Thanksgiving with family first. ๐
