  1. Does HAL cut off laundry service a day or two before the end of a cruise? I ask because I have a 5 day land stay after my next cruise of 22 days and I would not like to do it in dirty clothes.
  2. Princess cruises has passenger laundromats on every ship with ironing boards and irons. The washers and dryers require tokens. Irons are not allowed in passenger cabins because of fire hazards. Azamara has laundromats at no cost.
  3. Celebrity sent me the email requesting questions, but not one about the webinar going live. Are there PUPs for watching? If yes, please post the URL to the webinar.
  4. Wouldn't that be nice. Although I doubt it. Larger and larger ships seem to be the trend with mid-price cruise lines. I left Princess because they got rid of their small ships and started building bigger ones. On one of my Princess cruises, the captain told us that larger ships were more cost effective.
  5. To every cruise line, hotel chain, and airline, loyalty is worth how much profit they expect to make. Just look at Delta's new loyalty program. It is totally based on how much money passengers spend with that airline. No more credit for miles flown. Celebrity doesn't give benefits to loyal customers to be nice. They give benefits to keep us coming back and spending more money with them. You might want to ask yourself the question, "what are the loyalty benefits worth to me?"
  6. Because suite guests pay more per cruise day - a lot more.
  7. Earth Trekkers https://www.earthtrekkers.com/how-to-visit-paestum-italy/ says "To walk through the archaeological site and visit the museum, plan on spending two to three hours at Paestum" Do you agree? .
  8. Are there private tours or private drivers you all would recommend? In Egypt, we used My Day Trip and were very happy with them. For a trip from Naples port to Paestum they're asking at least 174 Euros for two people. HAL wants US$649 for a 4 hour private vehicle (that's not enough time). When I compare these prices with the train, the difference in price is amazing and google maps is telling me that the trip by car takes over an hour and a half each way. That doesn't seem like a good value to me. Are there any private tours or private drivers you all would recommend?
  9. We've been to Pompeii and Herculaneum previously. Originally our ship had more time in port and we had booked a ship's excursion to Paestum. But then they changed their itinerary and cancelled that excursion. We were counting on Paestum and don't want to give it up 😒 Who knows if we'll ever get to Italy again.
  10. Our ship is not scheduled to dock in Naples until 10 AM and it departs at 6 PM. Are there direct trains later than 8:50 AM?
  11. Can anyone recommend an independent shore excursion from Naples cruise port to Paestrum? or Will someone please tell me how to get from the port to Paestrum by train or bus?
  12. I agree. But they do have a "New! Viking World Voyage I" that departs Ft. Lauderdale and ends in New York. Since it starts and ends at the same latitude, I would consider that one a world cruise. But we have decided against Viking for another reason. In order to get a cabin that we would be happy with for 180 days, we would have to book a year or more in advance. Anything can happen in that length of time, especially to people of our ages (old!) and I find Viking's cancellation penalty for long cruises unacceptable.
  13. Why did you have to be sure that you weren't on at the same time?
  14. Can each of the 4 devices be doing something different at the same time? In other words, could I be paying bills while my husband is reading the New York Times?
  15. I see that the Multi Device Premium Internet is for 4 devices at a time, but it is priced "per person" not per cabin. It would be much less expensive than buying two one-device at a time Premium Internet plans. Is is OK for two persons in the same cabin to use one Multi-Device Premium Internet Plan, assuming that the total devices being used at any one time were four or fewer?
  16. We're trying to decide between a Vista Suite and a Neptune Suite on the Zaandam. Can anyone tell me whether either or both of these cabins have a divider between the sleeping area and the sitting area?
  17. Will the prices of "Early Booking Bonus Have It All" and drinks packages also be going up on February 1 to take into account the more expensive crew appreciation? Or have they already gone up for all cruises sailing after February 1 ? If a cruise sailing after February 1 is booked now, will the cost of the Early Booking Bonus Have It All and drinks packages reflect the current cost or the new rate? If the same cruise is booked after February 1 or a drinks package is added to an existing booking after February 1, will the new crew appreciation rate be charged as part of those packages?
  18. How long is the "Have It All Early Booking Bonus" available to be purchased with new bookings? In other words, how far in advance of sailing does the Have It All Early Booking Bonus option disappear, to be replaced by the "Have It All" that does not include crew appreciation? I have my eye on a cruise that is a year and a half from now, but DH and I have some things to work out before we know whether or not we'll be able to sail. I'm wondering how long we have to think about this without losing the opportunity to buy a Early Booking Have It All bonus that would be quite valuable to us.
  19. Mine showed up today and so did shorediver's.
  20. I know that Holland America has its own "Cruise Consultants", but are there also TA's who specialize in Holland America cruises - who may have access and prices not available to the average TA? Do HAL "cruise consultants" sell cruises only at brochure rates and include only those bonuses that appear on the website?
  21. I see it. But I'm looking for the round-trip from Ft. Lauderdale circumnavigating Africa.
  22. Thank you for this information. May I ask, where did you learn it? Does this mean that all of HAL's fall 2025 voyages have not yet been released?
  23. Does anyone have a clue about whether Holland America will be sailing a Grand Africa Voyage out of Ft. Lauderdale in the fall of 2025?
  24. I should have rephrased my question. It was related to the discussion about earning enough PUP to get free laundry. I should have said something like, "If we fail to earn enough PUP to get complimentary laundry, is there another way?" Or, "Do we really have to stress about earning enough PUP to get one bag of free laundry?"
