  2. I’m Platinum so I get 15% off Internet but it doesn’t apply to upgrades, multi devices, pay as you go, and time plans. I did save some money by not upgrading to unlimited until the second day. Thanks for that tip! In the app under onboard account, there are two items that say “Internet Cafe” for $299.90 and -$100.00 for my 11 day cruise which I activated and upgraded to unlimited on the second day.
  3. The CF $500 deal expired and based on the current dates in the terms it MIGHT be back in 5 days (the current "promo" for $300 CF ends 5/25). Your cruise does have to be 120 days from purchase and 6 or more days in length. CN right now can only double up (i.e. $500) for balcony and up and the cruise is 4 months in advance. Terms: "Book a balcony or above on any sailing at least 4 months in advance and apply TWO CruiseNext, CruiseNext Haven or CruiseNext Lite deposits" Sometimes they have it for ALL categories including inside so it really depends on your situation and what promos are available. CN are refundable within 30 days. CF is not refundable. Both are transferable to other people. However, as stated before sometimes what they say isn't what's happening so I would check when onboard for CN and actually go to the CF webpage and see what it lets you buy.
  4. Just to add.. In Jan, a CN person said the current promo was all cabins. I showed her on my phone the terms on the website said balcony and up. She said she just did a double on a lower cabin category and then she showed me the terms on some internal website she had access too. What the heck.
  5. Yet when I'm ready to book, the promo isn't running. Maybe I cruise too much and my timing is off. Anyways, for me CF works better. I actually was talked into CN but ended up getting a refund. Full disclosure, I was a little drunk when I stopped by the CN desk. At least I didn't fall for the free OBC trap. They really do confuse everyone including their own people with how they set up CN. Just look at the posts in this thread.
  6. It is for me when they have the $500 CF because I only book inside or oceanview so the double up (or triple) CN which requires balcony or above is useless to me. I know sometimes they make it all cabins but that seems rare. Of course I have to make sure I understand the terms (120 days, 6 days or longer cruise, no refund, etc.) so yeah, always study more. NCL likes to complicate and change things and confuse people. Other benefits of CF is you can buy online (no sales pressure) and it counts towards Amex Offers since it’s not onboard spending. Just avoid the $300 and wait for the $500 promo if you can.
  7. Under myEVENTS they have a myVIP cruise. Seven day Alaska one way Vancouver to Seward Alaska 8/14-8/21 for 5 million. Yes, it’s more than the other similar cruises. Looks like flights aren’t included.
  8. It covers all of those. It also covers air, transportation, and admin fees. CruiseNext does the same. Right now there’s a promo for $500 certs for $250 each. Check the terms to make sure you can use the cert on the cruise you want.
  9. I don't mean to add more confusion to the issue but sometimes you can just ask and they will allow it. It might not be "official" but they might allow it. In March on the Bliss, I used one voucher for two solo dinners over two nights at Food Republic. It was a lot of food for even one person. I actually asked to have more than four items in one dinner but they said no. I'm glad I was able to split it over two nights instead. It's tricky to know what they are supposed to do versus what they actually allow. All I can do is gather the data points and hope for the best and not be disappointed if they say no. Hopefully it's people with recent experience given all the belt tightening. If I was going to get someone to dine with me I better have a back up plan. It'll be easier to get another person with the Platinum voucher so they can either bail or use their voucher or their Free at Sea if they deny the two of you. Hopefully by being in the same situation with the voucher they won't feel too inconvenienced if it doesn't work out.
  10. I am Platinum so I get a 15% Internet discount but I don't see it precruise when I add the upgrade or full package to my cart and go to payment. Is it supposed to show precruise? Also, looking at my 3 upcoming cruises, my upgrade price which after accounting for the Free at Sea "credit" is priced at $29.99/day for basic for the May cruise but my other cruises in Oct and Dec are showing $24.99/day for basic. Is the $24.99/day a precruise discount or does the price change closer to sailing so the May one jumps to the regular price of $29.99/day? I booked all three this year and after I was Platinum.
  11. I just booked another cruise with the $750 off before the 180 days but I'm not 100% sure others will be able to do it. It seems like they can't do it directly and there's some manual work. I didn't mention I booked back in Jan with the $750. I just let them try it and it worked but that's after I got off the call and they had some other department do the $750 off. What happened was they did the booking without it and said they would apply the $750 off within 24 hours. Less than an hour later I got another confirmation with the fare adjusted to account for the coupon. No mention of it being $750 off which makes me think it's some manual/override thing they do. I'm putting this in the YMMV bin. It's possible to get a points refund from Playstudios but sometimes they deny you a few times before you get someone who will do it. I'd love to hear from others who try it.
  12. Yes. Basically it's just a casino discount. So you can't use one casino discount with a different casino discount but everything else applies. CruiseFirst/CruiseNext subject to their terms (e.g. you can't mix the two and sometimes you can double or triple up on CruiseNext), percentage/dollar off coupons/certificates, shareholder OBC, other promos (Free at Sea, regular sales and promos). My cruise had the $750 off, CruiseFirst, and Shareholder OBC. I couldn't add the Caesars Rewards 20% off for Diamond at Caesars since that's discount from another casino. What's interesting is people have been able to use $750 off from two different people. I guess because they are both under a casino booking by Playawards. Someone asked if you can do a $750 off with a myVEGAS comp cruise. I don't think we got an answer on that. Also, if you can do more than two different people with myVEGAS rewards. You'll be my hero if you can do a myVEGAS comp cruise with 4 $750 off rewards (maybe more if you can get more people in a cabin/suite). Anyone want to try? I guess at that point you might as well book separate cabins.
  13. Or it was just part of the 100 offers. The only way to make sure is to add enough until you're under 100. I have over 300+ offers between two cards. Check all your cards since some offers are specific to one card like the points one if you have a cash card and a points card. Since May started a lot of offers expired and new ones appears so it might have pushed it off by the time someone saw it. Tip: Use the website instead of the app. It's easier to see how many offers you have.
  14. I have a screenshot of a popup in January that said I had to wait 180 days. It’s no longer there. Did they change it to 30 days? Anyone able to use the $750 off again inside 180 days?
  15. I haven’t taken the option for F@S Air all the way through but during the process it does take 50% off even for less than 200% solo supplement. However, I find I can get better flights with better times myself paying slightly more than 50% off. It’s worth it because I can reprice the cruise later when they do something like drop the supplement completely close to sailing. Close to sailing Air drops off completely so you can’t argue it’s the same cruise to reprice.
  16. Five cruises solo since December 2022 without ever paying double, no issues with Free At Sea. NCL terms and conditions aren’t always accurate.
  17. I got the reward on Apr 9. I contacted support on Apr 27 and got the pass today May 1 via priority mail. The stamp says Apr 28. Support hasn’t said anything but I guess it got things moving. https://playstudios.helpshift.com/hc/en/16-tetris-mobile/contact-us/
  18. Because they want ALL your business including future cruises and you don’t want to deal with all the issues. I’ve had to call multiple times myself and gotten different people each time on this one cruise. They even messed up and charged me a penalty for removing transportation. If a TA’s made money from you in the past, they’d want to continue doing it in the future even if they don’t make any on some cruises. Just my opinion. If a TA disagrees, that’s one that won’t have my business.
  19. I bought $1000 OBC for my May cruise to get 25000 pts. I saw the points in my account a day after the purchase but I never got the usual “you’ve used your offer” email. I will probably get most if not all of the OBC back as cash when I’m onboard. I’ve already spent too much on the cruise.
  20. I did this with previous Amex Offer. I got cash back on the last full day on the Bliss in March. Like someone said they even remind you while onboard.
  21. Calling on the port is not affected. It just won’t be a homeport. I went from NYC to Panama City on the Gem 12 days on one cruise and then back to NYC on the return cruise 11 days. It seemed like a mess with all the luggage and supplies they had to load and unload with the other cruise ship and all the shuttle buses. They made a bridge from the port to the ship with metal plates covering an existing rail track and carefully pushed carts of luggage across. Did they come up with that on the fly? I fully expected the bridge to fall apart and them to lose something but it didn’t happen when I was watching. I’m guessing they were port workers doing it all and it seemed dicey. There can’t be that many cruises going from there so I don’t think it’s a major loss.
  22. No, I’m saying the opposite. They are able to compete with each other and make money. No one is giving away anything for free. It’s just marketing and cruise line math. I don’t see NCL winning any CruiseCritic Awards for value but I get it, it’s subjective and depends on much more than drinks.
  23. I called to see if I can do anything about the significant price drops (as a solo) on the May 22 cruise. I pretty much gave up when the rep gave me the company line about it being after final payment. I know they can do more but it's not worth it to fight it with this rep. For what it's worth, I did ask about the issues. She said the electrical issues were all fixed. We shall see.
  24. HAHA, I see this all the time on cruises now. All those dirty, not washy washed hands. People eating with their hands at the buffet lines. People were much more careful before but not anymore. We're back to the good old norovirus days. You know, normal cruising.
  25. I meant when the port is cancelled. I have gotten refunds for overages before but I got nothing back when my ship skipped Bermuda in Jan. I believe the cruise with the power issue has already had one port cancelled before the cruise and maybe more due to the issues. The port fees and taxes for Alaskan cruises are on the high side so it's an even bigger issue on those itineraries. Knowing NCL, by the time I get on the ship in 3 weeks, the ship will be impaired with limited services or changed or cancelled ports. I'm sure NCL will try to everything to not cancel the cruise but that means an experience significantly short of what we booked. I expect little or no communication on the matter from them before boarding.
