  1. RSSC newbie as well. You have it. If you want to deviate, then at the 210 day mark, you pay the fee and engage with Regent Air Department. Should you not go that route, then you 'get what you get' at the 75 day mark. As I trust you may already know, getting available flight options at hand before you call will expedite the process. Worked perfectly for me for my upcoming cruise with RSSC.
  2. Good day experienced RSSC cruisers. Looking for further information on this topic. Could not find it anywhere and have an upcoming 1st time cruise so wanting to decide about getting phone/data plans in place prior to sailing. Thanks!
  3. You are a 'Man of Steel' for not biting on that offer. I wonder what would have been the case if they had offered it to all of your travelling companions.
  4. I would hope that NCLH takes a more balanced approach than stockholders only. In my business experience, Business Performance; Customer Satisfaction; Employee Satisfaction; and Corporate Reputation & Image all have to be examined and balanced off against each other when making critical business decisions. If any of these are 'ignored/downplayed then, over time, it will spell the end of any publicly traded company.
  5. Wow! What a thread. All I keep thinking about is how this would make an excellent case study for an MBA class once the dust settles. I hope everyone on the cruise eventually 'gets to a place' where they can enjoy themselves.
  6. That is correct. It is up to the passenger to get the visa now. When we booked this trip in January, a $50 fee was collected for the visa. They advised us midway through the year to look after ourselves. I imagine this will be the case going forward for all Indonesian visas.
  7. i am on this cruise and gave up trying it myself and used [reluctantly!] VisaCentral. They got it after a couple of tries. I found that taking a picture of my passport while it was on a table created glare, etc. that was unacceptable. You may try holding the passport vertically [can't believe one has to go through these gynmastics!] See you on board [hopefully] - Stefken and I will be the ones drinking Vesper Martinis!! ðŸļðŸļBy the way, there is a roll call for this cruise as well you may wish to check out.
  8. Never tried one but am game for the experience!
  9. I will second the 'champagne' request as I plan to help Stefken with that onerous task. As well, the single malt, etc.etc!
  10. Good day. Curious as to what is the latest news about the people who contracted Covid?
  11. While I am certasinly not an 'anti-vacc'er', I suppose the BEST advice is to go real experts: The PHAC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Thailand: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza. The PHAC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Indonesia: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.
  12. Goo day! Looking for practical advice for appropriate vaccines for upcoming cruise to Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. Agencies such as WHO, suggest the whole gambit of jabs most of which seem a bit overkill. Looking for experienced Asia travellers' experiences/thoughts. Many thanks!
  13. Once there is a reservation booked, is it possible to go back into the system and request a non-shared table? It seems like you have to drop the reservation.
  14. Wow! A one week free cruise due to security clearance issues?!
  15. Thanks for the info. I tried calling and was successful [maybe Canadian call centre was better trained?!]. Despite not knowing the 'credit card' that RSSC used [😁], nor when they paid for the ticket, luckily my Air Canada Aeroplan frequent flyer # was on file [thanks RSSC Air Dept!] and I got the numbers. Learned that they had changed our seat assignment. 57 days to go until departure!!
  16. Getting closer to our November 25th cruise. It also now appears that RSSC has paid for the tickets as I can access more info on the airlines' sites. However, Turkish Airlines is looking for the specific 'e ticket number' for each of the passengers. Is this something that will come eventually from the Air Dept. or should I call them and request it? Thanks folks!
  17. A quick question on the afternoon canapes...What are the selctions [if any] available for the canapes? Thanks!
  18. I think its a oxymoron to have the word 'gents' in the same sentence as 'convertible shorts'!ðŸĪŠ...unless of course you are on the Carnival cruise site!
  19. Your best bet is to go to the second topic in this grouping and search for anyone who might have had that particular cabon.
  20. Not the case with all cruise lines. In particular, our upcoming cruise on Regent that is not the case. Best to check beforehand!
  21. Sorry to hear this. What are the travel dates? Were you 'on it' on the first available date?
  22. Thanks. I am persisting. Just learned that one should clear their browsing cache between each try.
  23. It makes me never want to go there ever again if this is what I have to go through! If only the tourism department was really aware of all this.
